I have been gone too long! I quickly caught up and read all the entries/voted the other day. i wish I had more time to do more stuff while it was all happening. I suppose Ill just stash my ideas away for next year!!! and, i just noticed these redcoat/bluecoat fan things...is this another contest or just for fun?(catching up on all the stuff around here.) Never-mind, just found it.

To me, the other one is not actually a lego figure. True, its made from a lego figure, but after all the modifications, it just doesnt have the same lego feel to me. I also dislike the curved torso. TLG wins for me.

The spiders on the side is unique, and i love how the ship is built up, especially the front. I haven't seen anything like it before. PS- It looks like the backside opens up. Is it detailed inside?

Yay! More steam-punk ships! I know this is an older topic, but I had to give you my comments on it... (I wasn't very active back in may, so it took me this long to notice it) Anyways, one thing is I thought at first glance that it was mini cannons on the side, but then I looked at the flikr page and read the description. I was glad on one hand because they did not make sense to be cannons without gunners where you have 3 in the front each manned.... Im also sad that they were not cannons! Anyways, its neat, and fun. makes me want to build one to challenge it! I cant wait to see the warship!

I think its a bit short, should be longer, to give it a sleeker feel, but nice details, and some interesting techniques overall. And nice job on the minifigs.

But thats the greatest pirate anime out there! ...ok, bad pun. It looks like it could be fake to me, but if its real, I should start saving now. I want a fleet of black pearls! I can see this as a long running line, or at least a couple releases. First, if it is based off the new movie, they will have most of the initial sets based off of that. Then, (because lego pirate fans would be in an uproar if they didn't) they should release a black pearl set, and a smaller seondary line based on each of the first 3 movies. That is what I expect. I think the compass at best will be a painted flat 1x1 ...on another note, I just saw all 3 movies last weekend(yes, for he first time), and my 1 major gripe is Why doesn't Davey Jones just keep the chest on his ship, because then he would basically be invincible. Why leave it on land where he can only go 1 day in 10 years? And as to calypso, its a logical romance, but a fail explanation for why he's upset. If she's really some kind of sea goddess, there's no reason SHE couldn't go see him!
