  1. Nice Viking shot fenris- the fire came out wonderfully Here's a couple of Obi-Wan shots-
  2. Thanks fenris- im struggling to think of anything new for some shots at the moment too, the green scouts shot was just a quick one cause i couldn't think of anything else! I hadn't taken a new shot in ages and wanted to take something new. I usually find inspiration hits when im NOT trying to think of a photo idea- when i am (like now) i struggle to come up with anything
  3. Great new shots fenris! The light on the Boba one is great- very moody. Nice location for the Dengar one as well. Quick new Biker Scout shot- I do love me a nice monotone photo
  4. Nice review Big Cam. Love this little set- well the Tuskens anyways Remember seeing loads of these sets on clearance years ago- really wish i'd picked up more of them.
  5. Thanks Cam & Rob Not really much of a set-up to take a shot of- usually take my indoor shots on a long exposure in a blacked out room (have blackout blinds in the bedroom). Cause this shot is lit with a small light source, and was set up in the middle of the room, didn't have to worry about a background for this as the light doesn't reach the walls etc. I'll usually just use a plain white piece of paper though, and then direct the light in such a way that i get an interesting black/blue fade on the paper for a backdrop. Usually takes a bit of experimenting with the light and the aperture to get a good effect- i'll often take LOADS of shots of the same thing adjusting the light etc. then see what comes out best
  6. Quick new shot with my Battle Droids i picked up from the Daily Mirror Promo in the Uk. Not much of a Prequel Trilogy fan- but always really liked the design of the STAP's so thought id do a shot of em
  7. Thanks Roncanator Yeah i like the flare one too- there were loads of shots with flares but this was the biggest- had to bring down the brightness a bit though as it was almost blindingly bright
  8. Thanks for the comments Cool carrot/ tauntaun shot fenris- great set of hoth photos! I live near the coast- have to get up early to get some peace and quiet (and space!) for my beach shots though
  9. Well Boba Fett has always been a favourite... But im gonna go with Greedo- cause hes an awesome minifig, and cause he most definatly didn't shoot first oh and thats my Emperor shot Big Cam posted
  10. Been wanting to take my chrome stormie out for some desert shots for a while- but either haven't had time or the weather's not been on my side. Finally managed to get out for some shots this morning, and had a good few hours of sunshine (before the clouds rolled in ) Was a lot harder than i thought it would be- along side the usual problems of wind blowing the minifig over etc- had all the reflection problems to deal with. Ended up with the best part of 100 shots after 3 hours of lying down in the sand- these are the better ones. The top one's my fav- and prob about as close to a self portrait as im ever going to get (view it large to see what i mean ) Never did get quite the shot i was after- but then that happens sometimes. Ho-Hum. Thought id pop on the Brickforge pauldren for a bit of a Sandtrooper vibe as well. ^^^ this is an out-take but kinda liked how the over the top sun flare looked
  11. Awesome Tauntaun shot fenris- very funny! nice use of the lightsabre blade Haha- what an awesome credit!
  12. Thanks Kim, Roncanator & Commander Rob Your right about the shutter control- though doesn't have to be a DSLR. My 2 cameras that i use both have up to 6 seconds shutter control, and are both point and shoot cameras (each cost less than £150). The key thing to look out for is a decent Macro function (both mine can get to 1cm), and some flexibility to play round with the shutter times ect. There are quite a few cameras now that will let you do this without spending a fortune on a top end DSLR (though if i had the cash i would def like to get myself one )
  13. Thanks Pedro & Fenris I just use plain white paper for my backgrounds- get the fading effect with my lighting/ exposure time.
  14. Quick shot after picking up my mini-tie today- ^^^^ "These Imperial cut-backs are getting freakin' ridiculous!"
  15. Inspired to do a quick shot after todays freebie ^^^ "These Imperial Cut-backs are getting freakin' ridiculous!"
  16. Nice review I really like this little set- was umming and ahhing about wether to make the trip into town to pick it up- im glad i did. Though Smiths had run out of Daily Mirrors for the day by 10 o'clock (and they only open at 9!)- luckily found a news agent that still had the paper in- then went to pick up the set- though they insisted on taking out the voucher from the paper today. Some nice parts for only 45p- also looking forward to the STAP tomorrow- this is such a great promo
  17. Awesome stuff, thanks for the link to the photos- very impressed with the minifigs in the Imperial battle pack, be great to get another AT-AT driver in a cheap set
  18. Yeah its hard with dark shots, as they can vary so much with diff monitors- i like this one though, does look very dark, but that suits the photo well Like the Ewok on the AT-ST Here's a quick shot of the emperor- i did this exact same shot ages ago with my Kubrick version of Palpatine, thought id recreate it with the Lego Version!
  19. Don't yet have any ewoks (got my rebels from bricklink), will prob get some at some point though- and you can bet some photos will follow...
  20. Wow, thats looking pretty darn good Always one of my favorite ships from the OT, and like you i've never much liked the Lego Official versions. Great work with this, id take this over the official versions anyday
  21. Thought id bring out the Bonsai again for a Rebel Commandos shot
  22. Very cool shot legoloco , love the effect with the sabre- great idea and nicely executed! Funny you should say that When shooting the shot i tried a couple of diff coloured lights- liked blue best but thought id do something with the others as well, and put all three into one shot
  23. Cool im glad people dig my shots enough to want to have them as their desktop backgrounds. Im happy for you guys to use em as your Wallpapers
  24. Thanks Prateek, JimButcher & KimT Glad you like the shot- was only a quick one as i was playing around with the light on it to see how it looked with the reflections! And im only too happy to have people use my shots as wallpaper
  25. Hehe- you should hear some of the swearing i've come out with in the past whilst trying to take my sandtrooper shots on a windy day on the beach! Quick shot of the Chrome Stormie- Damn this things shiny! Hard to shoot him with all the reflections, so went for a blue light- have to take him out for some outdoor shots when i get a chance...
