Okay, where exactly did you see these pictures? Because I can't find them, and from what I see, neither can anybody else. Something fishy is going on here..... 8-|
-
Very true, not to mention that they work perfectly and look beautiful when used in the actual model. And those bridge pieces and assembleys are PERFECT for towns. *y* Actually, when you break the plane down, there is a lot more "real" lego in it than you might expect. I know, because I have seen the instructions, and the building experience looks as good as any other 40 dollar set. ;-) That's the only thing I was upset about in terms of the new RC trains. It's sad, but it doesn't completely deter from the overall look.

What about the 2007 fire station? From what I see, it looks so much like the sets of old, and I think many people will agree. .Again, look at the 2007 fire station. And the new gas station. And the new train station. They hardly look childish, if you ask me, and are very close to the clasic style. Have you even looked at the summer 2007 kits yet? (Just wondering) And again, the 2007 kits don't seem that way at all. The 2006 airport line and some of 2005 is more like that, and I understand why you don't like it. ;-) They don't seem much different in size to me. 8-| Um, the passenger train, plane and airport, train station, hospital, gas station, and other City sets include at least one normal citizen, and many two or even three! Yes we need girl minifigs, but remember the summer 2007 kits that are coming out. The gas station especially is cool, because it includes 2 civilian vehicles. I do see what you mean, though. That City is mainly about working people. But, that's partly the average fans (7-11 year olds) fault than their fault. Kids these days have to have some sort of action, which rubs off on City somewhat. :-/ Calvin, this seems to be more of a personal problem than just a real problem, IMO. The 6 wide trucks can fit on old roadplates, and they are designed well. What is really wrong with a larger scale? I mean, the older scale was cute, but the newer scale fits much better with what the majority of AFOLS seem to be building these days. TLC is just copying what they are seeing, it seems, and it's turned out a lot of great, admitidley bigger models! Why does TLC have to produce 4 wide cars for as long as they ever make town or city kits? Just my thoughts. :-/ And another thing. Uh, why did you say "I agree with almost everyone here."? Many people here are only ticked off about the 8-wide vehicles, which even I can understand. *wacko*

Don't completely know what you are saying, but didn't she say Dead Men? (the second one) 8-| Anyway, happy belated Birthday, Aredhel! ;-)

To Imperial Scouts: I read you, IS. Unfortunately the squad of rebels that was sent to you was attacked by the Imperials several hours away. They are on their way now, as well as myself, but the attack slowed their arrival down. The Impeirals failed in their attack, however. ;-)

7/10, mostly good. The Aliens and their spacecraft may be weird, but I see some potential in them, especially after clearer images surface. And the Humans? Asside from the base part of the base, pretty darn awesome. The Armored Drilling unit, lander craft, and the rocket in the base all are SWEET, and the others are pretty good. I see this line doing okay, actually. ;-) AMEN! That is the one thing I really don't like about this line. *n* BTW, looks like the forum is split on this theme so far. I predict it will stay that way for the entire lifespan of this theme. :-/ P.s. Guess which forum won't allow the Summer 2007 pictures yet? *coughbzpcough*
-
??????? *wacko* Anyway, Nocturn looks really good. He's not the best Titan, for sure, but he has a ton of awesome lime and trans blue pieces. I will be getting him eventually, although I can't say 100% for sure.
-
Very nice. ;-) A bit small and cramped, but I like all the detail you put into it. And considering that this is from a generally space fan, even better. *y*

Lets face it. Town fans were really shaken for years by Town Jr. and City Center, as well as the years without Town at all. <insert that tiresome argument> to no end, filled with ugly, unrealistic vehicles and buildings, and just really cruddy, Town Jr. was terrible, end of story. And when Town went off the map completely, things really were looking down. But, in Summer 2003, World City entered. What was this? A town line that wasn

Two words: Ignore this. I haven't updated this in ages, and a lot of the info is incorrect or made up. Besides, I made this when I was a bit of a noob. ;-)

That's exactly what comes to mind when I look over these pictures (and possibly the best response to the pictures overall, IMO). True, they are not clasic space for SURE, nor do they scream "BUY ME" as much as the new Castle, City, or Starwars, but in the end they look okay. The alien craft? Pft, they are really cruddy, but some of the human vehicles such as the Armored Drilling Unit and that plane like craft (2nd image) look very nice. The base is also bad, but the shuttle included is pretty good, the trike basic but the small craft good. Basicly, a totally mixed bag. But remember everyone, that these very well could be prototypes, so we can't give our final judgement just yet. Every line deserves a chance (every SYSTEM line. Jack stone is not one), and especially with this one, we need to keep our hopes up for the final pictures. ;-)
-
Nope. The club member exclusive game on the Exo-force website had Ha-ya-to in a NEW white and gold suit, so I think It's safe to say that we will see him in at least one set and in a few of the comics. ;-)

.... 2007 is AWESOME! Super-ridiculous-ultra-mega-AWESOME! Besides getting a blue jedi starfighter, a new naboo fighter, and an MTT with 11 DROIDS, we also are now getting a new Republic Gunship, a RBR playset, and FINALLY, a Hoth playset! Plus, rebel troopers, tauntauns, and more clones makes 2007 the best starwars year in YEARS! 8-

The truth is, GregF didn't do that (at least mostly). I can say that with reasnable confidence, due to a topic I read on BZP. Ravensburg, you are definately not the only one angry about the incredible amount of toa. Some of the Bionicle fans on BZP are also angry about the ammount of toa, although not as much as you or many Eurobricks members. But when asked about this issue, Greg said this (paraphrasing of course): "We have to have new Toa canister sets every year. Either brand new toa, or more transformations. That's your options. Because if we don't, then Bionicle will fail. The majority of the fanbase (8-11 year olds) love the Hero sets the best, and thus the Toa sets sell the best. The only reason 2003 did well without new toa sets was due to the release of the first Bionicle movie, and we can't rely on something like that again." So, basicly, Toa are what the major fanbase lives on. What Bionicle lives on. The villan sets, although often the coolest, aparrently don't sell nearly as well as the Toa sets, nor does any other bionicle set. This means that we will be seeing new or transformed toa in 2007, 2008, 2009, and beyond. And it's mainly the fanbases fault (as it was with the squid ammo, the Free the band promotion, and everything else Eurobricks has come to hate.). You know, Ravensburg, I kinda think you should probably give up hope for a new 2001. Not that that's a bad wish (It's very good!), but it just won't happen with the fanbase Bionicle has these days. Really, I understand if you soon quit Bionicle entirely, and I'm sorry that things are going so rotten for you Bioniclewise. That's really it. :-/
-
Yeah. The prototype for Angler Ambush was REALLY ugly, and the aquabase prototype has a horrible sub and bad squid. And while the kraken in the second smallest Viking set was cool, the boat was just silly. The final sets overall are much better, IMO.

Wal-mart. ;-)

To tell you the truth, I was pretty lucky myself! My mantax was the VERY last one, and I still can't believe that he was there and not one of the other 5. Let's just say I am VERY happy. ;-)
-
Actually, my family isn't that rich. I got a lot of things because some of the gifts I listed (Bionicle canister sets, Bionicle books) were bought by my parrents but paid for with money from relatives. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten as much. ;-)

Today I am bringing you a full fleged photo review of Barraki Mantax, who is, IMO, the best of the Barraki. The Box The the most superficial part of any LEGO product, but the one that often determines whether or not the set is a success or failure. The Barraki canisters are easily the most unique designs I have ever seen for a Bioncle set. Besides being slanted and having a coral like lid, the canister is covered with bubbles and cracks, adding to the underwater feel of 2007. The front has all the usual info, and has Mantax in a cool pose. The background is especially cool. The back, although cool, is misleading, due to the fact that you can not fit Mantax into the canister without some disassembly, contrary to the image below Mantax. Whats in the Box? So you've bought it and taken it home (or at least made it to the car), punched the perforated tabs and dump out the contents. What do you get for your money? Well, 59 pieces (it includes an extra red Viking horn), which are sorted by color in this image. And, an instruction manual, with the set image sideways like the Inika manuals. The instructions are laid out very well, and the underwater background makes them even more appealing. The Bricks Here's where we start to cut to the heart of the matter. You didn't buy this box for all the glossy booklets & creative artwork. You want to know about the LEGO bricks & bits that are included, and what (if any) new & interesting parts you'll find inside. Here's also where I'll talk about any new and/or interesting pieces that you will encounter. Mantax contains 6 new major molds, all which are very unique. Clockwise from the top left, we have the standard Barraki pinchers, pieces that I see many uses for (put them sideways and they could make great rahi claws). Next, there is Mantaxs hooks, my favorite new piece. They kind of look like an upgraded version of Galis hooks, but at the same time, they are new and refreshing. Next, the squid launcher. I wont be discussing this until later, although I can say that I dislike that it is made of flimsy rubber. Next, the new foot piece (note that there is 2 included). It kind of reminds me of the Toa Metru foot, only bulkier and with fins. Cool? Very, but I really dont see that many MOCing uses for it other than as plain feet. Next, the shoulder armor, which also happens to be body armor for Carapar. (again note that there is 2 included) I cant say I really like this piece, as the unusual shape will probably pose problems for MOCers, as well as the fact that due to the 2 color plastic, it will only be useable in totally black and silver Mocs. Maybe if it was completely black or silver I would have given it the thumbs up. Finally, the head piece. This is my second favorite Barraki head, and the cool rubber bits make it feel all the more organic. BUT, aside for this kit, I cant see any other uses for this piece, PERIOD. I know no piece is truly useless, but this piece still comes very close to that. Moving on, Mantax includes many old and useful pieces in black, including an Inika back, Rahkshi body and leg, Vahki legs and waist, Toa metro arm, and Piraka leg armor. You also get 4 Visorak double joints and 5 regular joints in dark grey, as well as a Toa Hordika head joint. Finally, heres the other pieces included. Besides the standard Technic fare, a small amount of system pieces are included, including 2 minifig Piraka spines and Doc-Ock claws, a couple dino tail pieces, and 5 red Viking horns. Finally, red Barraki eyes and two of the illustrious squid finish off the piece count. Note that I dont count the squid or eyes as major new molds, as the eyes are very small, and the squid are not really even a Lego piece, just a organic bit of rubber (more on that later) Building experience What can you expect while putting this model together? First the main body... ...Then you add the legs. The jaws are next,,, ...Followed by the arms. Then the shoulder armor and head are added. Then the weapons, and youre done! Mantax was a very enjoyable canister set build. Because the Barraki are all very unique, they will no doubt become the most interesting canister sets to assemble, even more than the Toa Olda of 2001! Also, Mantax definitely resembles a manta ray, and he is very solid and cool. He really is an armored tank, with heavy armor and sleek weapons, and he is also very menacing and sinister. Playing Experience So you've got the model together, but is it more like playing with a block of wood or an interactive toy? "Go over there, and we will fight." "Look, I can do ballerina!" "I'm the king of the hill!" "Movin' on...." "Drat. That's the third Kratta I've stepped on this week!" Boasting 17 points of articulation (including his jaws and tail), Mantax is capable of a variety of poses. His head is restricted some (due to his shoulder armor), but not as much as the Piraka of this year. Unfortunately, his squid ammo is very pathetic. Besides having a tendency to dislodge from the mount or to get caught in it, the squid can barely fly 1 feet, thus they are almost useless as projectiles. Overall Here's where it all boils down to whether the model is worth your money and time or not. I love Mantax. A lot. To me, he is the absolute best of the Barraki, as his articulation, wealth of parts, and very cool build make it beat out all the rest. Hes as cool as the Inika, and he will be valuable to MOCers, so I suggest you pick him up as soon as possible. Note though that this does not stay consistent with all of the Barraki. Pridak, Carapar, and Taxadox are a whole different story. * * * * * As a bonus, Im also giving you a review of everyones favorite collectible stand-in, 8934 Squid Ammo. The Box The most superficial part of any LEGO product, but the one that often determines whether or not the set is a success or failure. The box, admittedly, is very cool. The squid look a whole lot better on the front than they do in real life, and again, the background and effects are very cool. But, as with Mantax, the back of the box is misleading. Contrary to what it says, this set does not come with a squid launcher. (although that wouldnt have made me much happier, anyway) Whats in the Box? So you've bought it and taken it home (or at least made it to the car), punched the perforated tabs and dump out the contents. What do you get for your money? 7 squid. Nothin more, and nuff said. Again, 7 squid. Squid that are useless for MOCing, and useless overall. They are made in soft rubber, thus they wont stay on anything well, and they look plain ridiculous in real life. One more unimportant fact: They come in several shades of blue, as the box says. Building Experience What can you expect while putting this model together? Nothing. There is no building experience, period. Playing Experience So you've got the model together, but is it more like playing with a block of wood or an interactive toy? Unless you get a Barraki and squid launcher, there is virtually no playing experience. These are little pieces of rubber, for crying outloud, and without a launcher, all you can really do is roll them on the floor! Even with a squid launcher, though, the squid barely shoot 1 feet, and more often than not, they launch sideways, backwards, or in any direction but straight ahead. Overall Here's where it all boils down to whether the model is worth your money and time or not. Honestly, I bought this set only for a sense of completion and so I could give all possible buyers a warning. This set is nothing more than a few pieces of flexible rubber, and unless you really, really, like rubber or squid, avoid this set at all costs. On another sad note, I honestly think that this is the absolute worst collectable stand in we have ever had. (when I mean stand in, I mean something that took the place of Kanohi and Krana because kids are not interested in collecting masks. Kanoka, Rotuka, Zamor, and Squid Ammo are all those) These squid things are POINTLESS. Without a doubt. Now, I dont blame Greg F, the story team, or even TLC for this. Greg said kids dont want masks, they want bigger and better weapons, and thus I put the blame solely on the majority of the Bionicle fan base, aka. 9-10 year old kids. Kids will be kids, I suppose, but it doesnt make me any more happy. The sets this year are in fact mostly great. But this isnt a set. Its a rip-off.

About a week ago, I bought 8919 Barraki Mantax at Wal-mart. I'm really glad I snagged him, especially since he was the last one! (A nice lady bought the only other one (Takadox) for her son.) ;-)

Oh please Vader. That so called "true issue" you have has several major errors: 1. It says "Written by the former staff of the Empire who escaped their scumy hands!" So, why then are they proclaiming you in this so called issue? You have no influence over them anymore. They are with us the rebels now, and you in no way have enought power to control them all over such a long distance. 2. It says "Protecting the rights of citizens from the EVIL empire." So, again, why are they proclaiming you? 3. This "issue" claims I am a gungan. But isn't this the same paper who on Issue 2 exposed your hoax about my species and reported that I was a human? Yes, it was. 4. The Preserver never prints in that cruddy, low quality format. Don't try to fool me with this lame excuse for an issue. You won't convince me with chop job fake, Vader. ;-) Now, then, back to my carolling. :-) Jingle bells, The Emperor smells, Vader layed an egg! A crummy TIE fell from the sky, And the rebels got away! X-D

Vader, my fleet would never leave me. And they didn't. I am currently enjoying some hot cocca and biscuts in the Rebel mess hall, and the whole fleet is singing some happy carols to celebrate our escape. Oh, we wish you a mery Sithmas,, We wish you a merry Sithmas, We wish you a merry Sithmas,, And a happy Sith year! Enjoy your Sithmas, Vader. I will rebel.........I will.............. *vader*
