Ah, finally! A post! Thanks, Shine, but let me say that I meant rock, as rocks in Chefonicle usually refer to rock candy or Pop Rocks, as you will find out soon. ;-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kokapa followed Matormo for a long time. All around them, the vast ice cream mountains and sherbet valleys seemed to go on forever, and the Toe of Ice Cream quickly became impatient. Much to his dismay, Matormo tried to break the silence in a less than spectacular way. Matormo: Um, ya like frost bunnies? Kokapa:

Some time ago, when I was batting around the idea of making my own Bionicle parody, I had an extremely weird dream that combined Bionicle with cooking and food

The difference between China and the rest of the high economy world is that you can make a "brick People's Republic theme" without hearing any complaints. X-D Seriously, you can sell just about anything in China and you won't be arrested for it! China after all is the capital of Pirated movies and video games. :-|

2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Zarkan replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Awesome! These new town sets are looking wonderful! Food, a cat, and possibly a girl figure(!) are sure welcome! And the other stuff sounds great, too! Thanks, HJR, even if you refuse to take the credit. :-P -
Ugly? They look awesome, IMO! And don't complain about the big pieces, because the new dragons have more pieces than the old green and black dragons from the old castle themes. Unless, you don't like those either. 8-|

Starwars4J, could you tell me exactly how to get to The Dark Knight trailer on whysoserious.com? Because I've been looking and can't seem to find anything. I know there is a hidden link somewhere, I just don't know WHERE. *wacko*
-
Yeah, I always try to keep my set ideas realistic, and not just dreams, so I don't give enormous ammounts of figures or things like that. ;-) Well, I don't really count the Trolls as a faction. They seem like they could be the workhorses for that goblin faction in Dwarves Mining or something. So, Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Skeletons, and Goblins with a few mythical animals thrown in seems like a great idea to me. *sweet* To tell you the truth I don't think anyone here is thinking anything different! (and for good reason!) X-D Okay, maybe Glyman. (j/k) :-P

Redo's are always better than originals when related to lego. Kudos *yoda* *y*

That totally sounds like a pumped up version of Vladek's dark fortress to me, not just sharing some of the details. Still, if they did it with the Castle spirit in it, and not lots of crazy things like in KK, then it could be one of the must have sets in the year it came out. *sweet* Speaking of which, I think TLC could consider making even more factions if they went into a third year. Elves and Forestmen on! *y*

Hah! I must say those are some really good customs! They even got homer's potbelly.... X-D

You got me there. In all honesty, no, I have never watched the Simpsons, but I have read things about it written by other Christians who take offense. I've believed them for a while, and until I'm an adult, I will only have that info to go on (Simpsons is a nono in my home). But, I have seen bits and clips, and some of it seems really funny. To tell you the truth, Spider Pig is one of my favorite songs now, and I love the new Simpsons themed Burger King commercial. So, one day when I get a chance, I may watch a few episodes to see how it is. Still, you got to admit that the movie went a lot farther into suggestive humor than the tv show, from what I've heard. Did the mother really have to say "g-dd--m" just for the sake of saying it since the movie was PG-13 and they could get away with it? And why couldn't they have kept Bart at least frontally covered in that scene? If they had kept the mild level of humor that the show aparrently has, it might have been a lot better in getting new fans. Still, I guess you can just skip the movie. :-) But anyway, the point I was trying to make in my first post in this topic was that Simpsons is not just a kind of odd move for TLC, it's a bad one. Lots of fees for the liscence, and very few kids will be buying it, since the Simpsons is not exactly a show many 6-8 year olds watch. Okay, so the sets would be fun for older fans, but would it really be worth it if it sucked up profits from TLC? :-/
-
Oh, well I guess I was wrong about that. :-$ It's not just that. I take personal offense at the simpsons because its what you call "sachriligous (sp?)." Since I'm a Christian, I dislike how the Simpsons makes fun of serous issues in my faith. Some people might disagree, but that's my opinion. I dissagree, for the reason above. But, I really don't want to discuss this. I know your an athiest, so I can't really agree with you. Let's just not get into an agument... I already got into one some time ago in the Non-System forum. :-/ I can stand it, but I don't enjoy watching any movies or TV that has it. If I hear it in the real life, nothing I can do, but I don't have to enjoy it. That's exactly the problem! I mean, how many 8-10 year olds even watch the Simpsons? It wouldn't just be a contriversal move on TLC's "family oriented toy," it would just be bad buisness, as only adults and maybe some teens would buy, neither which are the main market. :-/ To tell you the truth, I don't know much about Spongebob, but from what I can tell, it's mild compared to the Simpsons. Maybe I'm wrong, but it is aimed at kids, while the Simpsons is not.

Who's flaming who? You act like it's not okay to say that making simpsons lego is a bad idea or something. And seriouisly, violence has nothing to do with nudity. Just because I'm offended at nudity in movies doesn't mean I'm a baby or something. :-| Your comment was completely out of line yoda. And look at that, one second your thanking me for updating the Exo-force index, and as soon as I say I hate your favorite show: boom, I'm a baby and shouldn't be on this forum at all. I don't see how you consider my post to be dumb and your rant on my distase for simpsons to be adult like. How can you call my post flaming anyway? It's not like I said "Ugh, SImpsons is **** and anyone who watches it is terrible and should die." I simply expressed my opinion calmly - while you flamed me.
-
No. Sorry, but Simpsons is not exactly kid oriented. Especially the movie. Now, I haven't watched it, of course (I despise simpsons, sorry), but I do know about some of the questionable things in it (skateboard scene, anybody?). Eh, that wouldn't be good in lego, even if we would get a lot of town oriented things. BTW, that image Asuka posted kinda proves my point. Would parents want their kids to be buying kits promoting things like that? I don't think so. *wacko* Oh, and I think everyone who is saying yes to this is a lot older than the target age TLC makes kits for. I think this topic is more of a "dream theme" topic that actual reality. ;-)

Well, you could start with all those reviews that vahkimetru found a couple of posts above me. :-P

Here's all the reviews I could find, as well as a lot of important/semi-important topics and a contest as well. Sorry. It's just that I was surprised about it, that's all. Meanwhile, I'll be seeing if I can gather all the exo-force reviews and major discuscion topics - I've had a bit of practice making the Bionicle and Aquaraiders index's. ;-)

Ow. Now that Zane is banned, how are we suppoed to update the Index? :-/ (it hasn't been updated for quite some time) Speaking of which, how did he get banned anyway? 8-|

Wonderful news, Sam! Man, I am so positive about 2008 now: besides the fact that Castle's back next year, we are most likely getting more of the minifigures seen in the November exclusive! Goblins, Dwarves, Trolls, and Wizards too! And the possibility of a 3rd year makes me want to jump for joy! 8-

Yet another reason NOT to buy the 2007 playsets
Zarkan replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Woah, wait a minute! I made this topic to show the faults with the PLAYSETS, and I don't think most people want it to become a "flame all things bionicle" topic like some of the other topics are becoming. Besides, you're already a bionicle hater, aren't you? I doubt better heads for the playsets would have changed your mind about Bionicle. :-| -
Yet another reason NOT to buy the 2007 playsets
Zarkan replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
In my opinion, it is a quality control issue, as last year, they did make all 12 faces for the Piraka and Inika. TLC seems to be cheapening the quality of the playsets this year more than last year. This may be better than 2005, but it's still very dissapointing. Look above. I do too! That's not what bugs me. What bugs me is that they are in Bionicle, and they aparrently are supposed to be Rahi, just because they have tentacles on their backs and "claws." The Toa terain crawler is a rahi in the storyline, and anyone who knows the storyline can tell that the set is not how it actually looks. The Toa are supposed to be riding in between the armor plates, not going through airlocks! Though, that of course wouldn't be as cool.... Exactly! Except that they seem to have at least one distinct intrest: lots of guns and explosions: "WOW ZOMG that monster just blew up and all those pieces hit those guys boom that is so awesome!" - steriotypical and exaggurated 8 year old response. I doubt that Greg and the story team really like the playsets either, though. They had an interesting idea with the Toa riding on the rahi - and then TLC just messed the whole thing up with their crap-set. :-| -
Okay, eurobricks agrees on this almost completely: the 2007 playsets are CRUD. But not until a few days ago did I find out how cruddy they were. Take a look at this picture of the Toa Mahri Undersea attack: Now, the first thing that would come to most people's minds is: "hey, why is there a Green Kalmah? And why is Jaller's mask so weird?" At first, I thought these were meerly prototype images: until I saw the playsets in Walmart - with the same images. Inside the Toa terain crawler display flap, all is revealed. 2007 playsets have major figure problems: meaning that half of the figures have the WRONG heads. But this is not a mistake, no, this is on purpose. Aparrently, someone at TLC convinced Lego to cheapen production prices by making 3 toa heads and 3 barraki heads, and then recolor them, making 12 "different" heads without making new molds. Thus, Ehlek has 3 eyes and tentacles, Nuparu has a Faxon, and Pridak looks like a white Takadox. :-| You know what I think? I think TLC should fire the person who suggested this boneheaded idea, after TLC loses tons of money on the worst playsets they've ever made. Okay, maybe not, but I am really fuming over this, all the same. >:-(

I must say, FreeBee, I'm really impressed with your MOC. Not so much about the design, though (even though it is great), but more because you made it using the limited parts selection in Lego Digital Designer! 8-
