  1. @therealjustin You made me check same pieces I have in red. And I wasn't very happy with what I have found. 6 pieces are not in that horrible shape, but they already developed tiny-tiny crack a little bit offset, like in your case. I've compared them with the others that are fine and there is a slight difference in color. Pieces in strong red - fine, pieces in lighter red (looks like more white or less red has been added) - with tiny cracks. Looks like I received defective 42003 from 42000 set. Is it possible to request part replacement with such hard to see but already developing cracks?
  2. Check out the picture of 8455 - it doesn't follow your pattern. Front cylinders have both either light gray or dark gray tubes attached.
  3. In other pics this part has been used in different color. To be honest, it does not make sense putting such part in yellow there.
  4. The main difference is that older RC is Radio controlled, and newer, like 9398, which has Power Functions system that is IR controlled. This means you either stand still (radio) or have to follow your model to control it (IR). Each system has its advantages, limitations and application. Depending on size of your MOC you might consider PF system, as it is easier to integrate it to a MOC. PF system elements are smaller and easier to distribute or hide inside.
  5. If you need "as much as you can get" for your money - I would go for used set(s). In case you'd like IR system - look for used 9398, these have 2 L-motors,servo, IR system and good parts pack to build other off-roaders. For Pneumatics, I would look for used 8455. Well, direction of suggestions depends on your priorities.
  6. Check 8475 or 8366 sets. These are quite expensive, but considered very exiting by AFOLs. I would suggest checking inventories of these sets, as control unit/battery box is quite bulky and might not be suitable for MOCs you wish to build.
  7. A and B models of 8284 were swapped for different markets. But, still you could tell which model was main here - there were lots of parts left after assembling one of them. I don't understand why hate B-models? Some are really nice. I imagine kids don't use internet so much like AFOLs do, so B-model helps imagine what you could build more. I would be even more happier if back side of the box included pictures of not just B-model (this is a must) but some more images for "Idea models", like they used to do.
  8. 2015H1 sets proves your statement is somewhat invalid. Check B-models of 42038 & 42039. Those are (way) better than A-models
  9. So you probably contacted Customer Service before complaining here. What was their response?
  10. This one seems to be attached to base, for static demonstration - you can see couple of attachments on the bottom. So tire could be under some pressure and is just positioned in such a way.
  11. That's Chock Stop Block if I got name in English correctly.
  12. That's because "Best" is different for each person. While set is very nice in terms of new parts and pieces I don't find it that much exiting to have it as day 1 purchase. You both should be happier about "Pneumatics" part of my reply! Motion flow was suggested and supported by some people
  13. I can recommend this book as well. It is hard to believe now, that TLG was so deep in trouble - so many mistakes have been made those days.
  14. While I like the model itself I don't find it The Best Technic Set Ever produced by TLG, probably just Best Truck What I really like is a complexity and features set includes. These looks to be quite cool and realistic. Oh and there are a lot of nice new parts and new colors of existing parts I'm mostly exited. And the best thing is that Pneumatics are still called Pneumatics!
  15. When this crane comes out I would be happy to swap your dark blue parts from 41999 (if you have any) with blue ones.
  16. Crane looks big, complex and not yellow! All of which is great.
  17. Is that all 4 wheels from sealed set like that? Their printing condition looks way better than mine. I would consider you (lucky)^2
  18. Wow, that is awesome! Any chance of bottom picture?
  19. It is fine to sell a MOC, but I believe price should be way more than the price just for the bricks. I mean it should be high enough, that you wouldn't think if you really need to own that MOC. Unless you build MOCs for constant profit.
  20. According to used numbering it is probably Educational service packs. You can check BL, lots of them (100+) have been added recently.
  21. This is where yellow comes as beauty in Technic - I'd prefer this set as yelow/black with black rims.
  22. So is it blue or dark blue?
  23. Plastic in different colors have different specs, that is one could shrink more than another, heat required to melt is different too. This is what I became aware of recently. It just cannot be "one fits all".
