Just wondering. I'm seeing the picture of it in the lego summer 09 catalog. ToysRus doesn't have it yet.

Yes! I applied through monster.com and actually got a call back from Lego! She decided to bring me in for the 5 hour assessment along with 4 other individuals. In the end, I did not get the job. The position I was applying for was assistant store manager. Store managers receive ~$45,000- $50,000 plus sales bonuses Asst managers receive ~$30,000- $38,000 plus sales bonuses.

Congratulations! You certainly earned that position! Your models in the past have been superb.

haha when is the next race?!

Update from Lego City! A friend joins the fun.
ACCURATEin replied to ACCURATEin's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you! The newer sets definitely look out of place when paired with the older sets. I made this discovery after looking through my stack of instruction booklets and decided not to build most of them, but to use the pieces to make other things instead. I'll tell my friend you like his work! I didn't get a closeup of the tall light blue structure. Mainly because it's incomplete, but i'm sure in time i'll have some pictures of it. Thank you! The flatbed turned out really well. I was impressed with my friends first attempt at creating something. The pizza delivery guy is still on the scene, as there is no hospital in the town!! But my girlfriend and I will be constructing one here within the hour, so hopefully he'll be able to make it and be transferred to the emergency room. The elevated train was something i always wanted to do. This allows the vehicles to travel through the city without worrying about train crossings. The support pillars had to be strategically placed so that the track doesn't collapse. Ultimately I want to build a support system that has only one large pillar instead of two. Thanks for the comments! Hopefully i'll have more creations for you to see in the near future. Ideas randomly pop up in my head so there is no telling what might be built haha! Oh nice! I did not know that. I googled those sets and it looks like there were never offered in the US. Thanks for sharing that information. Thank you! haha i thought my city was one of the smaller ones. I need more square footage!! -
So this past weekend my friend was in town. Before he came down to visit, I had told him there were a couple Lego sets that he could build if he wanted to. When he arrived, he was in shock at what he saw. The weekend was going to be fun in the sun, but mother nature brought the wrath and it rained throughout the duration of the weekend. So Lego City received a new makeover instead! I plopped the two Lego sets in front of him, and he just smiled. haha. I said, 'do work'!! So he went to work on one of them and was surprised at the type of pieces Lego offered these days. He commented on how the pieces are much more complex than when he was a child. The set I had him working on was the newly released orange tow truck. I made a comment that he should convert the truck into a rollback/ flatbed because Lego has never offered a kit as such. So he went to town with it and with a little guidance he came up with a superbly working flatbed !! His creation amazed me! He became so infatuated with Lego that he spent a grand total of 11 hours on that day in Lego City. I fell asleep watching him build his last MOC, which happened to be the tallest structure in the town now! haha. He also made an addition to the tan creator house and did a number of other things. My girlfriend became the Lego City horticulturalist, and added life to the city with the addition of a small park. Enjoy the pics!!

So today I was browsing the Lego aisle in Toysrus for any sets that I might want to pick up. The 5 wide Ferrari transporter gave me an idea. I wanted to build a transporter large enough to house the two F1 cars, so i bought the 5 wide kit in order to have the sticker sheet. Upon returning home I determined this big rig was going to need a width of ten studs. This was going to be the widest vehicle MOC that I attempted. At first I almost decided to abort the project because it was simply going to be way too large. But I stuck with it and as the creation progressed, it started coming to life. My friend was over for the weekend, and he and my girlfriend suggested that I actually finish this MOC all the way to the end. I believe there is not much else to add onto this truck, so without further ado, I present to you a ten wide Ferrari F1 transport!!... I am really excited about having completed this MOC within a day. There is still much more that can be refined, but for now it'll suffice! If anyone has any ideas on what else should be added let me know! But the story is not over yet! After completing this MOC, I return to my computer and browse the Lego website. I click on the Ferrari section, and VOILA!... the Lego company has a brand new kit out for release on the market!!!!! It's a ten wide Ferrari transporter!! When i clicked on the link it sent a shock of surprise through my body. It was unbelievable that myself and Lego were on the same page. I can't wait to tell my friend about this finding tomorrow. If anyone has not seen this new kit, here it is...

WOOOOAAHHHH!!!!! That looks amazing. Lots of inspiration in that one photo alone. -
I called the Anaheim Lego store and spoke with a sales representative. These city sets will be available in the US starting in the month of June.

Here are some images of the actual vehicles these MOCs were modeled after.

Thanks! For the canopy of the s2000, i used a white sticker paper and cut the sections according to the shape of the piece. Thanks for the comments! I love preludes, maybe ill build one of those as well. Which year prelude did you have? As for the canopy on the s2000, it's aftermarket which is why it looks abnormal. I'll post a picture of the actual car to see the difference. Thank you for your analysis! I also love building vehicles MOCs and hope to build many more. I started to run out of blue and black bricks with the ambulance and helicopter build. The holes in the ambulance do bother me, and hopefully i'll find the three pieces i need to make it look complete. The scale is definitely off with these vehicles. I think i'm going to display them aside from the city. The s2000 and Fit/Jazz are more closer to the scale of the F1 vehicles.

I've been busy with some MOCs. All my ideas are jumbled in my head and i am having a hard time focusing on any one in particular. But I now present to you all my latest batch of creations. The first one is not exactly a true MOC. It's more of an increase in size of the original model from the 90s. I simply widened and elongated the truck to make it 6 wide. The next MOC is an ambulance. It resembles the medical response unit from Duke Hospital. I originally was going to build a white ambulance with an orange stripe, but opted to make the Duke ambulance instead. It is 6 and 8 wide. I also decided to make the Duke Life Flight helicopter to go along with it as a set. Now all the city needs is the actual hospital itself! So the other day I was thinking to myself as to reasons why I left the Lego hobby. I think the main reason was receiving my driver's permit, which from that point on until now I have been a car guy. Which is also another hobby of mine. So as a return Lego guy, I have decided to make some models of my favorite automotive vehicles. I plan on making the entire fleet of Spoon Sports, a Japanese tuner of Hondas.. I found that it took a lot of concentration to make this thing!! Spoon Sports Honda S2000 and Honda F1 Earthdreams paired side by side... And the most recent MOC is the Spoon Honda Fit... That's all for now! More to come soon!

ACCURATEin replied to ACCURATEin's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the comment Guss! Here are two new pics of the Hotel... My girlfriend planted some flowers and installed the fountains. -
The 7 wide trunk looks fabulous! I can tell you spent a lot of time with that one.
-
Thanks! I had checked yesterday and it wasn't listed yet. The UK site has them listed. I was scared they weren't going to be made available in the US.
-
Are these sets going to make their way into the US stores?
-
If these were a set on the market, i would probably have to purchase it.
-
That looks really really good! I also find it is hard to design cars.
-
Your design is getting closer and closer to perfection. I especially like the addition of the external cage.
-
Your Note about building around track as being tricky is very true! Nice town!
-
Excellent job with the hotel! I like the stairs on the side that give the model some depth. Very detailed and accurate which is superb!
-
Great review! Does anyone know if and when this set will be available in the United States? If I can get my hands on this set I will convert the bus into a school bus and will use the skateboards to build Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory.

Will the flex track be available in the Lego stores?
