Ho, thanks for the precision :-D I think that when TLC decides to stop a line, it's not necessarily because they don't have new ideas for new sets . Maybe it's a marketing cycle that TLC has with some line, like Vikings, and now AR. Just sell sets from an extra line for 1/2 years and after we have to find another new theme... And maybe in 4-5 years we will see some new Vikings... and the circle is closed. For the AR line, I have to say that I've got all the sets of this line and I like it a lot. The animals are great and I play for hours with the station and the so wonderfull squiward *wub* too! A more Diver line will be so good! Just hope...

Please don't complain about those posters, just think of the poor French people who don't have LEGO magazine anymore... :'-(

Gavin & Gregor want to vacation with you!
alex54 replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nice idea, I'm on! I will have two weeks in july, just for my bricks :-$ :-D -
Without hesitation: The frigid Ice Planet Babe! I've got this minifig (it's mine on the space forum bannere!) and she is so wonderfull! What a lovely head *wub* ! She looks like a "strong" woman, but with a real female feeling, a little like Lara Croft a girly adventurer.

Or maybe you can use a blue cloth, this is what I thought. This moc is really well detailed, with a lot of architectural points. *y*

Would you like electric lighting in your Town sets?
alex54 replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Town
Adding some lights is nice, in additional sets for the cost. LEDs seem to be a good way, or maybe a fibre optic system -
Really great moc! Really impressive! Now we rea waiting for some detailed pics and the interiors of your fort *y* Just a very little thing to change, a blue floor will be better, continuing the color of the blue baseplates for the water.

I would like to thank my manager, who always believes in me, my mummy and daddy, and all my fans!... Sorry, this is the emotion, this is not the LEGO Award ceremony:-D Seriously! Firts: congrats to all competitors, it's always nice to see a mobilisation of the EB community for polls. And second: I want to thank all the members who have voted for me, and for all the feedbacks! Thanks :-$

After months without new sets, and before finding the new city ones on shelves, I have bought the HP set 4756: Shrieking Shack. It's a new box for 40

Just for info, the driver of a cement truck has to clean it when he goes out of the building site, which have a water point for that. It's because you can't wait to clean it with the concrete...

I don't think that Brickminer thinks that when he said that elements need uniformity and element-relationship in term of size. Just take the new gas-station, Do you really think that a 6 wide car will suit well? And the answer is... no! And all those oversized things make LEGO looking like DUPLO or PLAYMO! So sad! Just look that new plane! I really think that TLC has made a big mistake with it! Maybe a 4 wide plane is too small, I agree, but a 6 wide will have been so better! And please, don't speak about 8 wide trains... And another thing, if everyting is bigger, the price will be too, so not for me ;-) ! Nice poll! Don't worry, I don't want that! It was to show that why do we need more realistic-scaled cars if anything are in the so nice and lovely world of LEGO...

4 stud wide cars for me, of course! I think it's not a surprise for anybody... :-P I understand what you meen Hinclkey, with tradition, but I don't think that making 6 stud wide cars will bring more details cars. Just look the new 6 stud wide trucks. They are 2 stud larger than the old ones, they are beautifull and nice designed, but I don't find them more details by themselves. Maybe yes they have rear view mirrors, but where are the doors? And where are the 2 seats? So I don't think that if TLC will introduce bigger cars they willlooks like you want. And like Simonwillems said, anything in LEGO is well-scaled. Just look at the minifigs, do they have human proportions? No! So stop with the tradition and please TLC, give us some more realistic minifigs... 4 wide cars, 6 wide trucks is a good compromise for the size of the vehicles. Maybe all the recent cars have the same general look, just using different colours, but I don't think that it's a fatality, TLC should use some other pieces, and some already existing ones, to make new front and back cars and mix the style to bing some diversity. Like I say before, I think that we can have 4 wide cars with some nice details in it, but without two minifigs beside. However, I don't say that 6 wide are :-X, I like how they look like, but in a moc, not in TLC sets... And what about the 2 wide cars from the very old sets? :-P

King's Castle Siege (7094) Image Review
alex54 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for this review Brickster! This castle looks really good in general! I really like the colour scheme, it works well for me. It looks more like a Classic Castle than a KK or this legend-castle-which-is-not-one IMO. For me the use of large wall pieces is not a matter, because they are parts from some classic castle. So saying that this castle is too <insert that tiresome argument> because of their use, that makes the Black Monarch Castle a <insert that tiresome argument> one too! I agree that the castle lakes some elements inside, but it -
And maybe you can try to color the actual black and white draws, with nice light effects...

No, no, no... *sad* I agree with the fact that we have to live in our time (all new pieces...), but I don't think that having bigger building is a good way. Yes for the modularity, yes for details, yes for clever building techniques but no for the size! I don't think that bigger means better! In fact we can have small sets with a lot of details, like in the big set. Just for example, take the so *wub* CC. Yes it's beautifull, yes it's detailed, but you can have the same spirit, the same building feeling iwith a smaller version. One think that it's sure is bigger=more expensive... So I will prefer smaller sets with nice details, with an interior and less expensive. Anyway, I'm not saying that I'm right or not, I just tell you my point of view like you do and I like to see what the others are thinking. There are the old school city fans, the new school city fans, and me (I hope that I'm not alone :-P ) who try to make the better compromise between those two schools... But sincerely, I don't think that we need big things for having beautifull things. It's a bigger challenge to try building beautifull mocs with a limited number and selection of bricks. It's easier to have more details when it's big...

What a surpise to see you here G2P! (And it's really strange to write you in english..., good for your TOEIC!) Anyway! I don't know if I can say that you are my friend, because you still don't want to give me your old sets... You know that it's not true! See you soon...

This castle line seem to have a nice future with those new faction... I would like to collect those new sets, but I'm affraid by the fact to really love them and to have to continue my collection with '08 line and '09 and... And I have to buy so many sets for my city *wacko* This year is really the harder one for me (and my wallet) with LEGO...

Consensus of the new themes: Castle and Mars Mission
alex54 replied to Berry Syedow's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just hope that the God of Bricks have heard you... I don't know why... I'm like BrickMiner, I still can't understand why children would like KK2 over castle 2007... Maybe it's because I'm not a child now... Hard to think like them, and like this new generation... Writing this, I sound like an old man :-D -
Consensus of the new themes: Castle and Mars Mission
alex54 replied to Berry Syedow's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes I agree with you, having both sides in a same box is nice! But for the City theme, it's not the case because it doesn't have sides... Or maybe workers/citizens, but workers are citizens too *wacko* . I don -
What do you think off making a topic where each members post pics of some beautifull and particular buildings of their own town? So members can share what they like in their town and permit for the other to discover different places and to have some inspirations for their houses/buildings, or just to find some nice details to integrate... I think it's more friendly that just going to the google pics search engine... :-$ You're cool too!
