Well then that would make Smaug-who's supposed to be one of if not the biggest creature(s) in Moddle-Earth-would be the same size as something maybe 1/5 at best of his size. If one normal minifigure is 5', then at the biggest LEGO Smaug would be 100 TIMES THAT! As Smaug is somewhere roughly in between 450' and 500'. I thought it was more like 35. EDIT: If I counted correctly in my head, the number is 35.

On another note, I just FINALLY bought LEGO The Hobbit, LotR (Which I already have), the big/little character pack and like two other Tolkien games from Steam for like $10.00! The offer ends in about three hours, so if you're interested you should act fast!!!

Never mind, I'm posting them now! This is my Tolkien collection. The pictures aren't nearly as good as Cammo's, because my good camera's out of battery, and my phone's camera has been focusing strangely as of late. (I might take some better ones later.) To top it all off, I couldn't get the lighting to look very good across the wide space it takes up because it's nighttime where I live. XP The whole setup, from the right. The same, but on the left. My upper-left shelf, with And Unexpected Gathering, Gandalf Arrives, my Target exclusive Bilbo Baggins and Lake-Town chase. The Tower of Orthanc, which actually sits on my table because of its height. My middle shelf, with Weathertop, The Council of Elrond, 2nd age Elrond and The Mines of Moria. Mines of Moria, My custom 2nd age Sauron, The Orc forge, My custom Radagast's sled, Dol Guldur. The Lonely Mountain, Riddles then The Black gate. Bottommost shelf. Attack of the Wargs, Shelob attacks, Mirkwood Spiders and Mirkwood elf Army. What do you guys think?

Sweet. I hope the US version has similar pricing! I might just pick up on that offer, but BoFA, Witch King, and DGA are definitely bigger priorities. Actually, maybe I should hold off on getting BotFA and get GKB. I still don't have Ori, Nori or Dori and GKB has less time on it, being released late 2012. I'll have to think on that.

Exciting! And for any interested, the sets I'm missing are Pirate Ship Ambuch, Battle of Helm's deep, Uruk-hai army, Goblin King battle and Barrel Escape, though I got most of Barrel's figures from a friend.

Excellent! I love your display! Sadly, by the end of my BotFA collecting, I will be missing five regular Tolkien sets that I likely won't get for a long while, if ever. Woo! My copy of TlM and LTC arrive tomorrow! I'm so excited!

My thoughts exactly. It always feels like a slap in the face to read all sorts of comments on LEGO failing on these sets, when I treasure my LotR and The Hobbit display as one of my most prized posessions. I love these sets, even the more lackluster ones and it always frustrates me to see so manu that hate what I think are just fine. Could LEGO have done better on a load of them? ABSOLUTELY! But I don't think we should let our disappointment for what we expected dominate what are really truly alright choices. I really like your design! I too am using the 1x2 claw/bracket thing for where the recurved bits attach! I found three of my four grey robot arms...I really want to post pictures but I'm gonna wait till it's finished. And what exactly is wrong with the ORCS in this wave?! Now I feel like you're just looking for things to be frustrated with!!! LEGO has given LOADS of variation in orcs, apl except for making them all a different skin tone, which I prefer because then you can sort them by type but not have a load of identicals! By the end of my collecting I'll have an awesome army of Gundabad orcs! I love how many LEGO puts in their sets!

I'm currently building a second version of my original Windlance design, and I think it looks really good. I'll link to a few pictures once I find the last pieces I need...four dang dark grey robot arms! =S When I get Attack on Lake-Town I'm gonna see if I can fit the spring launcher into my design.

People'll need to do A LOT of Bricklinking to replicate THAT army...

I'd rather Bolg. It's really out only chance at the character, and he'd be really great to have.
