  1. Excellent tower! I really like the fact you have swapped over the standard use for gray colors, using dark gray for the tower and light gray for the rocks, rather than the other way round. The corners of the tower are a nice touch and work very well. Built nicely into a great mitgardian landscape. Well done!
  2. One thing I have enjoyed seeing with these guild mocs is the interesting little stories that members have been adding. They really add an extra part to a moc and you are one particular builder who always has a nice back story with some great names. The tower is a great design and its great you have added some character into the design rather than build a simple square tower. A nice combination of stone and wood, plus the landscaped setting really sets it off. Great work again Sir!
  3. Great build! Full of color and interesting details. Great work on the houses and a very interesting use for those micro figs! This is a nice example that you don't have to build with lots of snow to make a mitgardia moc. Nice work
  4. Looking good, a nice attempt and shows that you are taking another step forward in your building skills. I know its not in brick form yet, but it looks good and would be great to see you properly make this. That price does seem very high, I could probably build a third of my village for that price. Use bricklink and try and find the cheapest places. I have been lucky, as there is a small odds and ends shop near where I live that always has lots of Lego from people who trade it in. Just the other day I bought 20 bags of green and brown parts, each bag was £1. The bags are quite large as well and I ended up with a huge assortment of different colored green plates ad old brown parts, probably a good £70 worth, all for £20. So it can sometimes pay to keep your eyes open for any odd 2nd hand shops, as they sometimes have some real bargain Lego finds.
  5. Very soon, I hope to have the village finished by the weekend.
  6. Lovely tower, simple yet elegant. I like the fact that it's made from wood with a stone base. Looks very natural and fits well in the land. Great landscaping and details. Great work!
  7. Great work! I have to echo Z's words, you really have hit the Anvil with the hammer here, exactly what we hoped to see. Great color use a design, looks like it would make a great official set! Well done, your another builder who is really on a roll. You could do some nice designs like this for Benoic as well, there's a lot of interesting earth color combinations that work well on old buildings which is one of the reasons I choose dark and sand green for Avalonia as they work really well together, expecialy on medieval builds. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
  8. All sorted That reminds me, if you could all check the front page every now and then and let me know if I have missed or forgotten any titles you have earned. Also if anyone has recently joined and can't find their name on the list, let me know, as it can sometimes be hard to keep track of everything. There are still quite a few members with watchtowers and those without, who have not yet chosen a name for the land. Don't forget to let me know as soon as you have, so I can add it to the list and thus place all your mocs in that area. Many thanks
  9. I would love to give away a prize like that for every challenge, but that is for the member who has earned the highest points when everything has been added up after the final main challenge. Im pretty sure there will be 6 main challenges overall, each with points to be won for members creations, plus there will also be points availible for some non-challenge mocs as well. So there is lots of time and chances to earn points. I also have to sort out other prizes for our guild, plus some for the main cross guild challenges as well.
  10. Well done everybody! You guys are non-stop!!!! The quality of builds coming through is excellent and I must confess im really desperate to start building a load of my own after seeing all these great mocs. Unfortunatly I can't start for another few weeks yet, due to my village being in need of completion. Im really enjoing seeing all these different areas coming to life as each of you create your lands. As you know, the Main challenges will each have prizes that any guild can win, however there are also Guild specific prizes. The first prize for the member who has scored the highest points for our guild at the end of the project will win a copy of set 6086 The set is complet with box and instructions. All pieces have been bought seperatly and are as good as brand new! There will also be a first prize and runner-up prize to the members who have earned the highest ammount of tittles. The member who has built the best moc in the Albion capital building task will also win a prize. I will post the other prizes when I get hold of them! There may also be a few other prizes along the way. All done for you good sir! Welcome! We are most pleased to have you here in Avalonia. Your figs look most excellent! Grab a piece of land, name it and start building! You are on a roll, some brilliant mocs so far Captain! Welcome! Glad to have you with us! Avalonia is yours to build and fight for! Can't wait to see what you have in store Cap, looking forward to it! Excellent work guildsmen, keep it up!
  11. Avalonia is indeed on a good corse at the moment, but like others have said, due to a high ammount of members I have really had to put in a lot of work and daily updates to keep everything organised and running smooth. Things are at a point now where we know where we our headed and each have our own towns which we are building. However, I must note that Kaliphiln have surprised me, as I thought it would be the group that would struggle due to the really unique look of the land. But Kaliphiln have really pulled it together and are now pumping out lots of great mocs. For every new Avalonian moc, theres a new Kaliphiln moc right behind, so you guys have done a great job in what I believe to be the hardest guild to build in. Well done! I think you will find that Mitgardia and Nocturnia will find their feet soon enough and come roaring back. Once they start rolling out the builds they won't stop. Thats not to say they havn't produced good builds, both have seen some excellent mocs coming from their members. All guilds have really stepped up and produced some great builds, I would say ive seen some of the best castle mocs this year posted in this last month from the guilds!
  12. You are really pumping out these quality mocs! Another great scene and pulled off extremly well with some great details and interesting ideas. Im a big fan of the 'everyday life' medieval scenes like these. Like de Gothia, you are really doing a great job of creating your own personal area of land in Avalonia. Circardia is another area that looks set to become a great example of a classic Avalonian town/village. Great work!
  13. Im really liking the builds you Kaliphiln lot are turning out! Really original and interesting builds, and this is no exception. Love the color use here and the different shades of rock. The sandy base is well built and really sets it off. Well done!
  14. Excellent work here, the whole building has a very original design, I know its roughly based on a real church, but you have still given it your own touch and it really stands out. Very suited to Mitgardia, you have done really well with this!
  15. This is a lovely build! You have crammed a lot of nice details and some great touches of color in a small space, and the result is excellent. Great work, and well worthy of the title.
  16. Truely an excellent build Captain! It really does look impressive, with great detail, great color and a playability factor. This is one of my favourite builds from Avalonia, you have tryed a building that itsn't easy to make, and done it on a large detailed impressive scale. Excellent work!
  17. Secrets have to be kept. Yes, there are a few members here who know secrets, but thats how they stay, as secrets. Anyway, would you really rather see horrible dark ileagle grainy pics, rather than bright clear high res official images from Lego themselves. I know which I prefer. Remember those confidential POTC images that were posted? Not only were they NOT allowed to be posted here, but they were extremely grainy and very difficult to actually make out any details. Do you really want the first images you see of a dream theme of yours to look like that? No. That is why its always best to wait for official announcments from Lego, as you will see the sets how they are ment to be seen! Plus like others have said, there are a lot of rip-off companys who will quite happily steal ideas from Lego and get their inferior versions out first, so new Lego themes need to be kept secret to keep one step ahead of the competition(which they always will anyway). Just be patient and wait for news from upcoming toy fairs.
  18. Im glad you posted these all in the main forum as I can now link them to your land in the first page of the thread
  19. Another great build Captain! This has a very 'mean' look to it which I like. Like others have said, it looks more than just a watchtower, which is good as it stands out more. Great details and colour use. I agree with your point about natural light. I have similar problems where making the picture lighter ruins colors. Good natural light is hard to find in the UK at this time of year. Great work mate! DC
  20. Another fine addition to your growing town of Benoic! Great little scenes and well done on the names Very Avalonian. So what next for Benoic? A church/chapel, a mill? Look forward to seeing what you come up with, as you have been off to a great start.
  21. Great work everybody on your latest builds! Some very creative mocs coming through and it looks like the town of Benoic is growing nicely and looks set to become an important hive of activity in Avalonia! Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with next. The point system is being finalized now, so you can start earning our guild some points with your great creations! Keep it up everybody!
  22. I will ask and see if anything can be done. If not, please build it anyway, as with your tower you can claim a area of your own and name it what you wish. Looking forward to it. @ZCerberus, i've sorted it now, been a bit busy these last few days, I shall try and get everything else up to date over the weekend. Ive named your buildings Mesodraconem for now, if you wish any of your build's to have a particular name, let me know and I will change them.
  23. I think its pretty obvious, 4 sets based on Hobbit , 4 based on LOTR. You wouldn't release a theme and not cash in on the new movies. I do enjoy reading this thread and seeing everyones ideas and arguments. Members seem very sure in their arguments as to weather it's happening on or not. An enjoyable read. One side is very wrong, which will it be I wonder. In the mean time, if you like LOTR, you should get yourselves over to the History forum and join a Guild, we have plenty of Orcs, Elves and Dwarves over there!
  24. Excellent work! Looks great, I look forward to seeing more of this!
  25. LOTR would not co-exist with castle. Think more along the lines of the POTC theme and Classic Pirates. One will replace the other for a time. Then castle would return again. That's pretty much how it will run. But Lego just wouldn't do LOTR.
