  1. Congrats Rogueang, great to have you as part of the History team! Plus now you have the fun part of trying to keep up with and index all the mocs that keep rolling in
  2. That is one sweet looking Pirate Ship! Great looks, great playabilty and definitely has the feel of a real set. You have my vote!
  3. Great wagons and assassins, It's interesting idea. They first part of the story that will open challenge 3 should be posted today. Then challenge 3 should set up challenge 4. We are now trying to take the builds in a interesting direction that will play out a story and give the challenges more of a purpose.
  4. Oops, didn't notice that one. I think we are going to redo the scored bored and make it more prominent so it gets updated every month.
  5. Greetings guildsmen! The embassy's have been built and Historica is at an all time high, but an ancient power is stirring deep in the land. You will all soon be about to embark on quest, to take part in a story. The next challenges will be part of that story and lead up to some epic craziness! Could the land of Historica be about to face its toughest challenge yet? Things will be heating up soon! It's time to find out about what those Druids really left behind! Is it good or evil? Only time will tell. Stay tuned
  6. Nicely done with a well written back story! Another great addition to our history, great that you are doing these scenes.
  7. Great work yet again de Gothia! A great scene and well built. I love the houses and its great to see you trying some different angles. Building angles like those can be a headache especially when it comes to the roof, but you have done a great effort here. Well done sir!
  8. Don't worry, we have something that will set the wheels turning for some very interesting crazy fantasy challenges! You will be put to the test!!!
  9. Excellent build, a fine medieval house indeed. I love the balconys which give the house character. Great design and the dark blue roof works surprisingly well
  10. Thanks guys. The story is set around a quest to find a hidden shrine that contains a treasure which is said to protect all Historica. Naturally I wanted to have characters from all guilds joining in the quest, as this treasure concerns all of Historica.
  11. Well guildsmen, after discussing things with Z, I have decided to give some open parts to my story, so that other people can continue it. The story is about a quest to discover the location of the secret Druid treasure, the Life Force of Historica, as mentioned in the first post of Avalonia. It will start with a group of characters from the guild who have been sent to Nocturnus to track down an old Mage who might have some information regarding the Location of the hidden shrine. Once they find the Mage, the characters will then be sent to follow different leads. This will then allow someone else to take that character and continue the characters story with mocs of his adventures. Zcerberus will be taking his character on theough his own story from this. You don't have to carry on the story of finding the Life Force, for example I may send one character to go in search of clues, but he might end up getting caught up in a whole new adventure. It's up to you, but if anyone wants to continue a characters story then feel free to do so. Or you might just want to start your own from scratch, what ever you wish. Either way, I hope to have the first part up by the beginning of next week. However, the story of the Life Force may soon be set to engulf all the guilds
  12. Greetings Nocturnians! I am currently building mocs that will form a story, and the story will take my Avalonian characters to all four lands. The first will be set at a old abandoned Mage's lab in Nocturnus. The reason I am telling you is because I'd like to know if it is ok if I use some of your Sig-fig characters in the mocs. Obviously if my Avalonians are on a mission to find something in Nocturnus, then I'm sure they will bump into a few famous Nocturnus characters! Hope that's ok DC Stunning dragon btw
  13. Well, I think the plan is that every entry is going to be scored this time, so there will be no need to pick a top 5. Every entry will be put forward to earn our guild points and then the highest scoring of each guild win win something. I think that works out fairer then just picking 5, plus it's just too hard to pick 5 when there a too many great entries. On a side note, I would like to clear up a point regarding building. If some of you are feeling boxed in and would like a change of scenery every now and then, you can do this by the way of stories. For example, I am currently working on a story that will take its characters to all the guild lands. The first part starts of in Nocturnus, and gives me the chance to build something over there as its integrated into the story. Obviously you can't go building a city in another land, but if you are portraying Avalonian characters who are on a mission in another land then it gives you the chance to build a scene somewhere else. So if any of you get a good idea for moc that would fit well in another land, then go for it, just as long as its based around a reason why Avalonians are over there. As well as using some of your character sig-figs, I will also use some of the other guilds characters, depending on what land I am building a scene in. Once I have the story up and running, if anyone else wants to build some scenes for it then feel free to join in. The first part shall be ready soon. DC
  14. Probably my fault! Whenever I browse the forum using a touch phone, it always seems to bring up the 'un pin topic' option. It's not the first time this has happened, I think every guild has been accidentally unpinned at some point. If it happens again, you know who to blame
  15. An excellent moc , as we have come to expect from you This has a great look and feel to it, kind of like a great detailed D2C set that Lego would release(without the base). Lots of great details create a 'busy' scene and bring this embassy to life. You have really nailed the whole 'Kaliphlin feel' with this, a really great entry!
  16. This is a really great build! I love the original design of this building, great shape and roof. The colors are perfect and the stone work is very nicely done. The building has a lot of character, great entry
  17. Well played everybody on a really excellent round! We have some really great entries, we have really stepped up our game this round, so those that entered should feel proud of your efforts and everyone of our entruies will be scored and earn us points. I have been busy sorting out the main Historica Index, so I havn't had a chance to comment on everyone's embassy yet, but will do so latter on. Excellent work Guildsmen, we have some big announcements coming up soon!
  18. Nice one, that's a great useful idea for seeing the builds
  19. Looks very interesting Blackmoor! I look forward to seeing the finished moc properly. Guildsmen, I have decided to start a small story with a few mocs which is based around searching for Avalonias hidden treasure, so if it's ok, I would like to use some of your sig figs as the characters who go on the quest. Do not fear, I know you will all come back alive
  20. Aye, maybe he's insecure about something This looks fun, looking forward to seeing how the games turn out. Avalonians will be triumphant!
  21. Your time will come Mr Beerbeard! In fact, the wheels have started turning on what could turn out to be the biggest epic castle battle compettition the Internet has ever seen, where all four guilds may have to join forces against someone else Who knows what will happen, for now, we have a great selection of embassys, so Im sure we can climb up the scoreboard ranks a bit. We are looking to be able to score everyones build I think, so no matter who you are, your build will earn us points. Much fairer than just picking the top 5 I think.
  22. Yep, thats the one:thumbup: I really liked the look of this building. Here are a few other interesting designs that would look good in Lego: Here's a link to a site that builds various medieval structures that are great for inspiration! http://www.kobblestone.ca/body/kobblestone-top.png
  23. I spent my first few EB years in this forum and it was great fun, met a lot of great people. On Stranger Tides Idea of a Piratical group project like what we have over at the history forum is a great idea. It would probably work best as a Golden age of Piracy set up, although I suppose it wouldn't have to be historically accurate. Something similar to the world of POTC, that we members could still build napoleonic ships as well as classic pirate ones. It's definitely something the pirate forum should look into. I'm sure all the regular forum members would all chip in and come up with ideas and create maps. I would definitely join in, however I am running a guild in the history forum which is hard work, so it would be great to be just a normal builder just building pirate mocs for what ever pirate group I was in. I think this should happen, I would be happy to start off a thread and list some ideas. Its up to the mods.
  24. Yes my bad, I ment Cedrica, the area where the High King lives. I wondered why you mentioned that your men would keep watch on his house, I thought 'what's he doing right out in the middle lands' All changed now.
  25. For those who feel you are struggling to keep up with other builders in terms of parts, don't feel you have to! There are plenty of interesting designs im sure you could come up with using your exsisting parts. I have a few ideas that I want to try using dark red, but dark red is not a color that I ever really stocked up on. To build what I have in mind, I will probably need another additional 400 dark red tiles and plates, but I really can't afford to be buying them right now. So instead I have been looking at what exsisting colors I have got that I don't use. Through all the sets I've bought I have discovered I've got quite a bit of Lime green, sand blue and turquiose. I never use these colors, but you would be surprised how well they actually work. Using a lime green roof with a white and dark brown building just shouldn't work, but it does , and can give a moc a whole different look. The Mystic Isles is a place that I figure 'anything goes' so I'm working on a few builds for that area using odd colorschemes. Its always a good idea to have a look through you collections and see what you have that you don't usually use and give it a try. There will always be a chance to buy the special parts you want in the future when you have the means. I'm just gonna have to wait for a while till I can get the dark red parts I need, but thats cool, theres always something I can build in the meantime. Its great that you are all getting ideas of things you want to build, but Lego is an expensive hobby unfortunatly I feel somewhat responsible for my OTT parts-extensive ideas I have posted I am really impressed with the quality of builds you have all produced, there is a lot of talented builders in this guild and I look to seeing your future mocs. Its just annoying that it always seems to be the way that when you get a new idea for a moc it always requires pieces that we havn't got, so we end up having to spend!!!
