  1. Yeah, exactly my point, I didn't want them to look like guns that were taken off of a ship, or could have been on a ship, I really want them to look like that is the only place they could me. Does that make sense or am I rambling?
  2. Hmmmm, may look good that way too. In my imagination, the new cannon is more powerful than the old ones... I wanted to use the old ones for my fort however because they had the same look as the cannons of the original fort that is my inspiration.
  3. Maybe the dingos took them? They are known for taking things.
  4. Working on my fort, and I wanted the cannons for the fort to look different than the other cannons I have. So I was looking through my wheel and axel bin, and noticed I have about 900 of the old lego truck wheel/axel/tired combo. I took the tired off and put them under the cannon. I like how it looks, but Im still not decided if Im going to use it or not... what do you think? -Super http://www.flickr.com/photos/12213265@N05/3458570461/ P.S. I realize now I need to take low-res photos with my camera!
  5. Alright, most of my MOCs are really big projects, and I dont feel confortable posting them until they are done. I was bored at work (like now, like always), and I came up with this idea: 1. Build a small to mid sized ship with parts I already had. 2. Have it be a "special forces" ship for my black coats. 3. Use a cataraman concept. 4. Practice with sail building. So the "story line" behind this ship is that it is used for going behind enemy lines (blue coats VS red coats), raid enemy outposts, garrisons, etc... Hit hard, and then vanish just as fast. You can see there is a lot of sail compared to the amount of hull in the water. The ship is armed with two rotating cannons, and it relies on its speed to outrun enemy ships. The ship carries two rowboat that have room for two rowers and two more "incursion troops". If they are in a hurry, then can return to the ship and ditch the rowboats. The rowboats are carried out of the water to reduce drag. The ship has a very large rudder to avoid enemy ships and turn fast. There is room under the mast to keep provisions, captured enemy officers, or extra troops. The ship is cramped, but meant to be that way. The two cannons are more for buying time, and confusing enemies than for combat. However, this ship can be used as a "force multiplier" if needed in a larger ship battle. For instance, lets say Caribbean Clipper goes against a larger ship, once the two ships have committed to combat against each other, Black Dagger can come in a deal a crippling blow to the enemy ships' rudder, rigging, or bridge. So, now that I have shown the WIP, "rough draft" version of this ship, here is what Im going to do now that I will allow myself to buy parts. 1. Make the back of the ship actually look like a bridge. I will also employ the steering mechanism from 6271 (Imperial red ship, I don't call it flagship because it isn't one!). 2. Scrap my current sail system (it looks gaudy to me) and use a very similiar setup to 6274 Caribbean Clipper. For the aux sail I will use something very similiar to 6271 aux sail. 3. Perhaps make custom pontoons instead of using canoes, unless you guys like them? 4. Make custom rigging for the whole thing. Here is the flickr link to ALL of the photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12213265@N05/...57616994237159/ I would appreciate any comment/input. Just keep in mind its my first one that I am showing, AND I made it in one night out of parts on hand! -Super! P.S. Apprently all my pictures are too big to post otherwise... So go to the LINK!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/12213265@N05/...57616994237159/
  6. I started out in LEGO city and space. Then I got the Imperial Flagship for Christmas one year. In my mind I just decided that it really wasn't fun putting out fires and mowing grass in my LEGO town anymore. I also got tired of just going from one place to another with the space sets. So after that, I bought or asked for only pirate sets, or sets I could use with them.
  7. Really? We are still talking about this? I guess Im glad some people are joining the black sheep clan! But can we just let this whole thing drop already!? Honestly, I have given up on LEGO giving me what I want and that is why Im just going to take the advice I have been given and build my own ship.
  8. I cant wait to see Port of Brick Royal! I am also excited to get phase 1 of Port Freedom done in the next couple weeks and post it on here! -Super
  9. Wow! A woman after my own heart! Too bad Im already engaged! LOL, Thanks for the info! Im placing a very large (and damaging to my wallet) bricklink order next thursday, I might talk to that gentlemen. My ONLY point Im making is that if LEGO made them, we wouldnt have to spend $12 a piece, ya know?
  10. Looks really neat! Like a ship built for rugged combat! I like it!
  11. Very cool! I like small ships! I think it would be neat if we could get some of these together, and have them battle against one of the HUGE ships that people are building. I think that would be very cool! I'm off to finish my first MOC that Im going to show on this forum. It too is a small ship. -Super
  12. I made sure to take a good long close look at this to see if there was any photoshop-ing.... Looks good!
  13. In my latest project Im trying to mix in some pirate sets with my MOCs and make them look like they actually go together. This often requires some minor modifications of the original set to make it "blend in" better. I think I will take apart the ninja fortress, wild west gold mine, and wolfpack fortress. There are also a lot of BURP and LURP in those, and who doesnt like BURP and LURP, right?! 14. In the Yugoslavian civil wars in the 1990s, the Croatian forces did this with some tanks and it worked. So I think it is a real strategy.
  15. Well, I might. You know how they are about me.
  16. Executive: Highest ranker member of an organization that reports only to the board of directors. All other employees report to the executive. As for a big imperial ship. I'll add it to my build list, which looks like this now. 1. Harbor entrance 2. Main fort 3. Harbor 4. The building I work in 5. Historical ship recreation (top secret) 6. Imperial Flag Ship
  17. I can see it now, and I would like a side-view. You said its based loosly on the "Surprise". Is this Lucky Jack Aubry's ship? Also, it does belong in the MOC forum.
  18. UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM It says one folder is empty and the other is private. As most people know, I am incredibly bored at work, and need to see new things! Let me see this ship of yours!
  19. Wow, really? Well I guess I am a pack-rat. I still have all of my original pirate sets together. The most I will do with the new sets is modify BB to go into redcoat service. I will also modify soldier's fort to be the same height as my docks. But destroying is so hard for me! Especially when I'm trying to fill a port with so many different items! Maybe I will always be poor, buying bricks non-stop?! But I guess the ninja fortress has its days numbered... I just need too many of those pieces so after all my sorting is done for this week, it will probably meet the ax! -Super
  20. Guss, I know you are right. But "black sheep" is my badge of honor now. It has to be! Eh, well... Its more of a laughing point now more than anything. I mean, lets break this down into its core elements: I'm 27. I'm an executive. I'm angry about LEGOs. That's pretty funny, isn't it? As for baseplates. I'm going to work on getting just those for now. We can worry about sets at some other time. -Super
  21. Well maybe they could take pictures of some sets and then photoshop them and release those pictures to us to get us all excited. What do you think? P.S. Im never letting you live that one down, because you had me all depressed about my army size.
  22. OK, got a couple MOC building questions that I want to ask you, wise and expierenced noble men and women... When you are building a MOC, and there are interior parts that people won't see, or that make up the walls, etc... Do you use just any color you have? Or do you stick to your colors inside and out? For instance, if we took apart your MOC, would it look like a rainbow inside? Or would a greay fort be grey inside as well? I only ask the first questions because some times there are parts shortages. Second question At which point do you look lustfully at an original set for parts? I have the big ninja fortress and I have been eyeing that puppy for a while now for the parts I need. There are a lot of very nice black slopes, panel slops, and wall panels in there that could be easily used. How serious are you about keeping non-pirate sets together? I know in the end it will be up to me on both of these questions, but Im just trying to get a feel for what the rest of you think. As always, thanks for the input, -Super
  23. You're one of my favorites, you know that?
  24. It would take a lot to be THAT much of a scoundrel, wouldn't it?
  25. What that like the Kool-Aid man "oh yeah!" Or just a regular one? Because the Kool-Aid man is far superior. He can also break through walls of suburban homes with ease.
