  1. Hmm, articles about the new building have mysteriously disappeared from the brick town talk blog! Considering the reactions from managers of LEGO stores, I think it's safe to say they were contacted to remove it due to it being leaked early. edit: Which is as good an official confirmation as any, when you think about it!

I'm American and I don't either. Turn left, turn left, turn left... Nice use of parts, though. The shapes seem a little "forced" if that makes sense, but I like the use of stickers and the different color schemes used on the three!
  3. A $100+ set with a 4 digit number of parts and a dog is the closer for you? I wish I was so easy to please! I agree that it would be a perfect addition to a fire station. I hope they do it.
  4. There are plenty of Town / City fire stations, but this is sort of a whole new line. I really look forward to their interpretation of a realistic block-style one. If you were referring to the quantity of existing fan-built modular fire stations, then I see your point.
  5. It's difficult to see what's going on with all the shots being closeups. Perhaps try shooting a few overviews for us? Does the cabin have an interior?
  6. Hmm, they seem to be cheap enough in this color from Bricklink that this probably isn't a cost-effective way of stocking up. Unfortunate!
  7. Ah, then you probably wouldn't be interested in Market Street, Cafe Corner, or a fire house. Your loss! I don't think dark orange would have the be the predominant color but I see no problem using it as an accent against brown, tan, or even white.
  8. Since they seem to favor rare colors for these, I'd love to see dark orange make an appearance, too. It's one of my favorite colors!
  9. According to the second post on Bricktowntalk: "The colors were rich (dark red brick, with some blue like that used in the first factory modular unit and the sides were grey stone like the corners of the tan Model Town House creator set." So dark red with either the light or dark blue from Market Street? Sounds like a very strange choice.
  10. Beautiful train! I wish I could make out some more details, but black is hard to see - not a slight against the train in any way, merely an observation. I think the track itself deserves special mention, too! I love it.
  11. I think a fire station would be great. Dark red, though. To me, the best accent color for that would be tan, which would put it dangerously close to Cafe Corner's color scheme. Looking forward to seeing where they're going with this one. Oh, and I sure hope it has an interior. That's what ended my internal debate on whether to buy Green Grocer or Cafe Corner!
  12. My God, so much 4chan. Cute vig, though. The big brown wedge slope looks a little out of place against the rest of the terrain since it's so smooth and the rest is so rough and rocky, though.
  13. Ridiculously good. I've gone back and looked at it three or four times now and I keep noticing details like the wasp nest under the eave of the roof. Great job on the lap siding as well!
  14. Hey, great job! I don't want to use your thread as a platform to talk about how much I love LEGO's direction with the city line, but I really do. The modular city standard has opened a lot of doors for detailed building creation and yours is a fantastic example, especially since it's 16 wide, my favorite! Keep it up!
  15. I'd like to join. I'd be primarily looking at City stuff.
  16. The Heavy, big guy in the center of that photo, wears a shirt under a black vest. The characters' colors are dependent on whether they're on the blue or red team.
  17. Great design! Very clever and retains functionality. Any shots with the sides off so we can see how you did it or will that be your little secret?
  18. Glad to hear a shout-out to the lockup. The playability of that set was wonderful! That said, I had to vote for Gold City Junction because it really feels like the "main" set and is VERY thorough with two buildings (with playable features), the wagon, bandits, horses, etc. It has the most play value, I feel. I never actually owned that set but my friend did! I only had the Sheriff's Lockup and the Weapons Wagon. Still, like I said, the Lockup is a pretty essential piece. It works especially well with Gold City Junction; just put it right on the boardwalk!
  19. That'd be a misspelling of "Team Fortress 2", a popular PC / Xbox 360 FPS game. Here's a reference shot for the characters: http://www.invision-gaming.co.uk/js/tiny_m..._fortress_2.jpg
  20. Oh, wow. The Heavy's Sasha looks amazing, especially the gray head used for the chain can. I quite enjoy the medic despite his simplicity simply because that's the character I tend to play most. I'd love to see your take on his wimpy needle gun! Finally, nice solution for the Scout's scattergun. I don't know how you feel about non-LEGO parts, but Brickarms makes a baseball bat that would be quite fitting. Also, I'd recommend using a minifig head with a headset since the scout uses one. They are thankfully plentiful!
  21. Well done! Your helmet design is wonderful. I gotta say, though, the lighting in that shot makes the comparison between dark gray and blay quite jarring. I wonder if I'm the only one who's still bitter about that, or have we all moved on now?
  22. I'm absolutely honored! Thank you for the feature. Again, I'm not sure doors will be possible due to the odd construction, but I'll definitely try. You can see the difficulty when you look at the underside picture of the car - the entire side except for the panels is turned sideways and attached by headlight brick to the bottom of the windscreen, supported by the exhaust. I'm not sure there's a solid point nearby to attach doors to, nor if the doors would fit the shape of the side. As I said, though, I'll play with it a bit and see what happens!
  23. My apologies for bumping a month-old thread, but I was just browsing the review index when I found a link to this and the nostalgia hit me like a sack of bricks. I used to love playing with this set so much! Perhaps I should buy the parts for another, since a MIB one would cost a fortune. Oh, childhood. Amazing set, voted highest possible.
  24. Very nice. I'm a big fan of odd width designs. In fact, I think an odd stud width vehicle contest would be great for the Trains and Town subforum! Asuka, you really do like doors, don't you? I've seen you mention 'em in the last three threads I clicked!
  25. I like it! Very nice parts usage on fitting the exhaust in there and I like the solution for side mirrors as well. Nice MOC!
