Awesome, reminds me of some of the ridiculously narrow spite houses in this article. I love the way you did the columns, even if it does leave a dreaded... gasp... 1/4 plate gap!

I buy by the MOC. Extra parts I throw in include chrome silver pieces (can't have enough) and various mafia-esque things, like tommy guns, fedoras, and suit torsos.

A few reasons, I think. One is cost, another is that the PF units can't be put into small places like Lifelites can. The biggest reason, though, is that PF lights are directional - very pointed, like headlamps. The light is too focused and they don't light a room very well.

Oh my, an ASAT Special through a Bassman must sound amazing. I can just imagine the growly rock/blues tones you could coax out of that. Any pics of the ASAT?

Welp, that's definitely pretty high on my list of things I'd never see made in LEGO. I might send this to the guy who wrote the John Freeman thing if I can remember his contact info.

Thanks! The plume idea would have been for building a Vox AC30, but that didn't work out for different reasons, anyway. :) My 2x12 is very short. Here's a (bad) pic of my stack for comparison. The 2x12 is sticking forward a bit in this shot: Yup. I've only been able to order and build 3 MOCs I've made in a CAD program to date because of cost.

Hello! I designed this today, which pretty much ate up my whole day. I'm kicking around whether to order the parts for it now. It would be pretty expensive - likely close to $50. Anyway! Here are miniature versions of my guitar and amplifier! MOCPages Brickshelf Thanks for your time and feedback!

Can someone test this connection for me?

Oh well, thanks for checking. I was going to use them as mini-scale chickenhead knobs, like on an amplifier or old stereo. -
I just want to know if this holds. I have the small lever base, but I don't have a plume piece. Thanks!

Wow, please tell me we'll be able to stock up on these new molds soon. The 6" revolver, derringer, and sawed-off are fantastic.

Good deal, man. I don't follow the newer stuff too much, but I've got a real soft spot for older metal - Ozzy, Deep Purple, that sort of thing. Our old bassist was really big into prog metal like Between the Buried and Me.

Well there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that CC would be a decent set to grab for investment purposes, if collecting is your thing. It's a truly landmark set that's going to have a lot of appeal to future City-oriented AFOLs. As a parts pack, it's solid enough, as well. I can't think of a single reason not to buy another one of these before they jump in price.

They aren't using the Native American hair in any other sets right now either, and they brought that back for that figure! It definitely wasn't a cost-cutting move - in fact, this entire series of figs seems to be a giant step away from recycling parts for convenience. I'd say it's just because the fedora looks infinitely cooler than the old cowboy hat! -
Hey! I've been involved with music for a majority of my life. In middle school, I started learning to play the clarinet in the school band as well as the steel drums as an extra-curricular sort of thing. By junior high, I'd moved from the clarinet to the alto and then tenor saxophone, switching to the jazz band. In high school, I switched to the guitar and haven't gone back since. I do wish I hadn't forgotten all that jazz theory I used to know, though. I play around with a few genres, but most of my original music comes out as a kind of folksy-indie sound. I have an affinity for surf, rock, and blues, though. My most recent band was a grunge/hard rock band called Screaming Life. Here are a couple photos from a show at Studio 7 in Seattle: And here are my main stage guitars: Gibson Chambered 58 Reissue Les Paul 1969 Gibson SG Special 1961 Gibson Les Paul Junior So, tell me about yourself! What do you play, how long have you been doing it?

I used to play a lot of Unreal Tournament, a PC first person shooter game, against my dad. At one point in time, he was on the Atkins diet when we played, and I was doing well against him, so I started changing my in-game name to various carb-laden foods like "rice," "pasta," "pie," and so on, so he kept seeing messages such as, "You were killed by pasta." Eventually, I got tired of constantly changing the name and left it as "Carbohydrates," and it stuck. That was almost 10 years ago, and I use the name for just about everything. Luckily, it's generally available when registering for things.

If Pandora counts as radio, then I suppose I missed one on the poll, but I just included that as Computer. I keep MP3s on an external hard drive and the CDs they came from in my car. I also have a flash drive with music that I can play through my car stereo, and I want to experiment with using an external HD with it. That would be great.

I think the worst part so far is unveiling to these so long before they'll be available. I'm already wanting to get my hands on these rather badly and they've only just been announced! -

It was mentioned that the Exo-Force fig, the blue-haired anime minifig, was what was on the business cards before. Now, the cards show these new figs. -
LEGO Collectible Minfigures Series 1 Poll
Carbohydrates replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They're all fantastic, but #8 Magician and #12 Robot are particularly great. I chose #12 Robot since I love that retro-sci-fi look it has. #5 is a crash test dummy, by the way! -

Absolutely amazing. I must have at least one of each. -
How much is your collection worth?
Carbohydrates replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Guesstimate... $900 or so? Not even close to my most expensive hobby. Relatively: - LEGO, ~$900 - Video games, ~$1,500 - Car, ~$11,000 - Guitars/amps/related, ~$20,000 -
What do people say about you being a AFOL
Carbohydrates replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
AFOL, 20 years old, USA I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't advertise it and nobody in my workplace is aware (unless they're googling my name or something), but my close friends know and don't particularly care one way or the other. I don't have a large display or collection, just the three big CC sets and some vehicle MOCs of mine around them on my dresser in my bedroom. I've actually been considering removing my name from my various LEGO-related accounts for the sake of my business life, since I am attempting to establish something resembling professionalism, but I don't think I care enough if someone 'finds out' to go to those lengths. Frankly, I don't dwell on it much. It is what it is. Edit: More to the point of the topic of the thread, nobody really says anything because not a lot of people know.
