  1. I normally do City and Castle. However I now just go by what is on sale. I try to buy at least one small set in every theme just to have the different minifigures and special parts to the theme. I mainly only buy a few City sets a year, and they need to be special. I loved Castle (Fantasy- Which isn't all LEGO fantasy?), but can't stand the boredom of the new Kingdoms sets.
  2. I have been thinking this is a horribly ugly building, and it is. However if it's part of a mini line of cheap CC type building than I'm all for it. Plus I was thinking the set had more pieces and would be $60, but it shouldn't be more than $40-$50 which isn't too bad.
  3. Now get a UFO set and remake ID4.
  4. There is no sequel planned at this point, and I doubt there will be one. The movie bombed in the USA. It was supposed to be a big summer time movie and it fell like nothing. The movie costs alone was 200 million USD, it only made 88 million in the USA. It did make a world total of 320 million, but with the price of marketing and the fact that studios care more about the USA than the rest of the world a sequel isn't going to happen. The only way I can see one happening is if they cut the budget by at least 75 million and then get some international deal. However a sequel, even if it was a hit, is years and years away and LEGO wouldn't make more sets for 2011 because there would be no movie then.
  5. Because one is a make believe world in which crazy vehicles that aren't realistic at all are fighting in a race in which no one has ever died. Tanks are real, what would LEGO do make a World War 2 tank where 50+ million people died? Maybe they can make a modern US tank, have it in Iraq in which 250,000 innocent people have been killed. Making sets that are based on real life also means making sets that are based on real life events, and that's where LEGO doesn't want to cross the line.
  6. However now that I think about it. LEGO Batman only had the rights to certain Batman shows and movies and not the two newest movies. However LEGO still released a Bat Mobile based on the Bat Tank from the newest movies. SO LEGO could easily release whatever super hero they want that Disney lets them and just say they have nothing to do with the movie release. I think a LEGO Marvel theme would be great, 5-6 sets a year with different action hero minifigures.
  7. OK Really, most of your points you are just complaining about "!". LEGO wants you to realize certain things so they have "!" instead of a period. LEGO 2-3 years ago used to make 10 mistakes per catalog and they mainly were how many mini-figures were in a set. That's a much bigger deal than bad English.
  8. Ice Planet, UFO and Exoforce are all my favorites.
  9. Sony holds the Spiderman movie rights. Disney bought Marvel Comics, the movie rights don't change hands right away. The whole reason we are getting a Spiderman reboot instead of Spiderman 4 is because Sony wanted complete control and the director told them to screw off.
  10. I just looked at the pictures at S@H, one side is round the other is square. So the back must be squared and the front is round.
  11. To me Ninja and Western are their own themes. It wasn't under the "Castle" or "Kingdom" brand like Forestmen and Wolf Men. I like Fantasy Castle the best, then Wolfmen and Forestmen, both of which are needed in the boring Kingdoms theme. Plus I think Wolfmen would be really cool with some of the crazy new helmets that Space Police has introduced. The spikey one would fit the theme well.
  12. They renewed it once, and the new date is 2011, I don't think there is any official renewal news yet. However it most likely will get renewed and the battle packs will cost $30, a TIE Fighter will be $150 and a AT-TE will be $350.
  13. That's the address, is that what you were asking?
  14. It might come back for a 30th set, but yeah, I doubt that is the case. There are three castles this year and LEGO doesn't care, you just spread the sets out. You would keep the line going with even just 2-3 sets so people still know of the line.
  15. If Indiana Jones sets sold so well then they would still be making new sets this year. Plus saying things that span decades... Toy Story is 15 years old, that's two decades, PoP was a NES game 25 years ago, that's three decades. Theses are also Disney licenses, so it's not like they paid a lot for a failure (Speed Racers), PoP is dead, Toy Story I think is selling fine for the most part, next year we most likely will get a PotC theme to replace regular Pirates and PoP. There really isn't that many license themes in System scale, just Star Wars, PoP, TS and soon to be Harry Potter. They are all a mixture of different themes, space, western, desert, castle, and I think that's a good thing, as a LEGO fan you can get normal Castle or Pop or HP, you can get Star Wars or Space Police or Buzz's space ship. LEGO won't make a historic type theme like PoP or IJ anymore because they don't sell (LEGO sets sell better with a vehicle), and PoP might prove that even more.
  16. Exactly, they just can't be customized. That makes them useless to me.
  17. No, I'm sorry but you make crap and they will sell like crap. The simple thing is they made bad toys! Sure there is other issues, but that's the main one and it is that simple. I never went into a true "dark age", I stopped with LEGOs in 1997-1998 for about 18 months because LEGO sets sucked so much. The only themes I really bought between 1998 and 2002ish were Space Port and World City (very underrated theme). LEGO no longer makes bad sets, or makes so many sets they all can't suck. LEGO quality has gone down the toilet but that's another story.
  18. I suggest fixing the color issues that still haven't fully been fixed before giving fans one piece they want.
  19. The early and mid 90s isn't what almost bought the company down, it was the stupidity of the late 90s and early 00s. LEGO made bad sets, it was that simple. They had $70 sets that had 100 pieces because all the pieces were huge useless jumk. The magic of LEGO left and that's what almost killed the company. They make TON of sets now and they sell well, any the US price increases have been insane, so they have made more money.
  20. And ten years ago the train set cost $120, so what is your point? The new trains really aren't that expensive in the grand scheme of things. The RC train when it came out was actually $80 and because $90 the following year, it is the only running train I can remember that cost less than $100. LEGO makes 500+ things a year now when 20 years ago they made 150 (Look it up on Brickset). Sure some of those things are lame like a pencil set, but LEGO still is making more sets recently than in the past. The difference is instead of having 2-3 small sets per theme and each theme having 10+ sets a year LEGO now makes a lot more themes, tons more themes and each other only has 1-2 cheaper sets. My point is that I think LEGO is pretty much making the same amount of cheaper sets as before (Minus Star Wars because Star Wars fans are crazy. $25 for a land speeder?!?!) but because there are so many themes the cheap sets are spread out to themes others don't care about. If 20 years ago there were 20 Town sets, 20 Space sets and 20 Castle sets there would be more cheap sets per theme than 15 City sets, 4 Space sets, 8 Toy Story sets, 5 PoP sets, 5 World Racer sets, 8 Atlantis sets and 7 Kingdoms sets, 4 Power Miners because the cheap sets are spread through 3-4 times as many themes.
  21. Glad to hear that they screwed up the minifigures themselves too. They were supposed to be out for 6 weeks, it was less than three and no one was able to find them. It was a huge mess, and the minigifures themselves seem to be a huge mess too, so the whole thing is fitting.
  22. I have never seen LEGO at a resale shop, Goodwill and such. I have lucked out a few times because my mom goes to so many tag sales and flea markets, but if you want LEGO right now or just starting out you need to watch for the sales at regular stores.
  23. What do you mean? There are three tanks in that picture and they all look right to me.
  24. If you do a search for it it says... Coming Soon on July 22.
  25. I completely agree! Maybe next year with the sequel! I hope!
