  1. That doesn't make any sense through either. AFOL would rather have kept the 9V style of train! It's much MUCH cheaper and is a true train. The whole point of have RC trains were to make Train sets that children could afford to buy. If LEGO wanted to make AFOL happy then we would have grey and not bley, and we would still have 9V trains. I don't understand any reason for LEGO to have a $250 train, nor will I believe anything they say. it's not like they can make a $80-$90 train anymore, the parts to make the train move alone cost well over $100.
  2. Yep that's the train, that's why I had old in quotes. At the time that set was released it was $80, it didn't go up in price until the fall of 2007 I think. 12 batteries?! Ouch, still you can get that many rechargeable on sale for like $30 and that is still half the price for a full train. So frankly I don't believe anything the people from LEGO might say, they are a company, they are not our friends.
  3. $100 for half a train that doesn't even run! The "old" RC passenger train cost $80 and ran, sure it didn't have as many pieces, but for $80 you had a working train. This year to get a train to run it will cost you over $200 to make it run never mind the track. Also when LEGO goes "New Trains in summer 2009, I figured that meant stations, and rain crossings and such. The whole point of the new type of Train was for it to be cheaper than 9V, and LEGO had failed at that once again.
  4. By whom? Because I remember LEGO saying the same thing back in late 2007-2008 that they would be releasing new Train sets in 2009 and we got one insanely expensive set.
  5. LEGO has always released at least two waves of CITY sets. I think Fire and Airport are both January sets, the Farm set and maybe the Impulse sets come out in March, and then the summer sets (hoping for Train or Zoo!).
  6. I'm sick of the people in Europe complain, at least you get ALL the sets when the USA get's shafted. Anyways there is no way the new Fire Station is less than $79.99USD. The last one was $60, and was much smaller. The boat is most likely $50, so the station I think will be $80.
  7. Nice little set. It has a lot of pieces, but it seems very little.
  8. That Fire Truck is so great I think LEGO released it can't top it. However I figured by now LEGO would redo the set with a blue windshield. They did increase the price of the set to $23USD this year. With those massive Playmobile airplanes it would cost $200 to include a runway.
  9. Maybe you should read the OP. He/she is complaining about the costs of shipping and is from Nevada, USA, not Northern Ireland, Ireland, or Germany. All that EU crap has to do with taxes and free trade and such. Once again, not LEGO's fault. You don't like the taxes then vote, or revolt, both work.
  10. Are all you complaining about is shipping? I have to pay shipping, and a sales tax, this is nothing new and not at all LEGO's problem. I don't understand why you are complaining.
  11. Actually in 15 years Town has been called, Town, City Center, World City, City, and I think one other name in the late 90s.
  12. I'd like to know what universe you are living in and if I'm living in the same one. 1996 had some great Town sets, then 1997 to 2002 is when town went to hell. 1998-1999 where my "dark years" not because I didn't like LEGO but because what they were making wasn't LEGO. Those years were the years that had the huge pieces and the sets were called City Center, that's when LEGO trashed Town. Town 1996 City Center trash 1999 And what do you mean LEGO Trashed Town and City? City didn't start until 2005, if anything World City mixed the new with the old style, it was to save Town from the huge mess of the last several years. If you don't like World City fine, but you need to get the facts straight on what years LEGO Town/City Center/World City/City fell and rose.
  13. There are times where LEGO is just so god damn stupid. Why waste their time on this? LEGO Castle has been a great seller the last few years and to change the name is just stupid.
  14. She is only keeping the seat warm. She is unlocking the camper. She is going to run the guy over so then the LEGO Police can come and stick her in jail with the rest of the women because they have to be hiding in jail.
  15. You should know by now that women aren't allowed to drive in LEGOverse.
  16. I'm almost 24 and this set came out when I was in 7th grade I think... so 12 years? I own three of these sets, they were $9.99 each. The McDonald's guy is sticker... ewww.... You need two to make a nice stand alone set, the car is way too small for anything today. The third I have somewhere still it it's box. Honestly I don't even remember where I put it, but I remember a candy melting on the box. Now I need to look for the third set! haha
  17. I said cyborgs. The bad guys in Agents are mainly cyborg and really crazy half human things. Plus they are attacking each other with water hose guns. I think someone from LEGO even explained that they don't really like violence (yeah right) and that's why they have weird bad guys to keep away from "man on man" fighting. Also as MDM said having different minifigures is exciting and get's the fans on board. However there is also the drawback of having a disaster like the Mars Mission aliens. The strongest part of the PM theme to me are the minifigures and cute little rock monsters. :)
  18. I'm sure it will be like Power Miners and that they will add more with the next wave, if there is a next wave. But it looks like that there are only three main "bad guys" right now and then the evil giant sea creatures. :)
  19. The whole reason we have rock monsters, aliens, fishpeople and cyborgs is because when they fit each other LEGO can say "Well we don't have humans fighting humans" anymore.
  20. A million people can sign this, it will not bring Pirates back next year.
  21. Cool topic. I sadly think Farm is dead, but you never know. I hope they make brick built ducks or something. I'd also like a tool shep with a jeep, a horse area, and a small farm house. I would love an ostrich farm too, we had one around me, but I think they closed.
  22. Well then don't say the set never existed.
  23. Toy Story 3 comes out in June and not March.
  24. Oh yeah?!?! Doesn't exist?! Then what is this I ask?!?!
  25. As lordofdragons said they will get rid of the stickers. LEGO will never use stickers for torsos of minifigures that are in a mainstream theme, just in factory sets and themes.
