Selling off more than a few unwanted sets.
Dannylonglegs replied to Evil Porkchop's topic in The Bazaar
I'm still interested, I'm just very busy at the moment. If you wouldn't mind waiting till monday for me to discuss buying your sets from you, that would be great! I'm also interested in your entire Knights kingdoms collection if it hasn't been spoken for yet. Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand
Dannylonglegs replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
"That scroll looks powerful... I will buy it." Stated Sylph. "But, would you consider droping the price to 50 for a humble Druid such as myself? I spent my young days in the wild forests of this world, breathing life into it wherever I could, but I never ask for money for my services, so I have very little to spare now. I could assist you in some way though. If you have any sick animals or dying plants, I could attempt to heal them of their ailments." (OoC: If I can't get on within 24 hours again, Pretzel can control my character.) -
KaiexNessa is OTP!!! Whether the sexual orientations match up or not! It's because I've been away from the computor for the past 24 hours. I even started suffering withdrawl symptoms. I haven't even checked the Quests yet, but I hear there's a tasty scroll... Also, Sad news. Due to my very frustrating moving process I will be postponing 76's opening until the 8th. I've already OKed it with Sandy. I just can't start it today, or even over the weekend with the moving process as it is, and I may have limited computor access until life settles down on Monday. Sorry all. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Thanks! That makes sense. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Now that Sandy's back, could he say Yay or Nay to this, just to be sure? I'd hate to be less powerful than I thought I was. Also, 2 more days until 76! (I should be ready, but moving has been so much more chaotic than it was supposed to be.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Nope. There was only a certain amount in the tree, and the rogue already picked it up. Some bandits stashed their ill-gotten loot there, but the rogue caught on quick. (or, if the QM says you can, sure, but that's just how I'd flavor it.) The ability doesn't have to be nonsensical. Rogues just find/steal money. Maybe that mad-cow they're generating currency from ate a farmer while he was headed off to the market with his bag full of coins. Maybe that ooze monster dissolved a bag of coins from its last meal, but not the coins themselves yet. Perhaps that scary crow picked up a few coins to line its nest and impress its mate with. Maybe that Dinosaur likes shiny objects like the crow and has been guarding a pile of coins like eggs. The possibilities are endless. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I disagree, I think. I'm fine with rogues making that money. They chose the class for that reason. I chose Cleric to heal (and to get on more quests because there aren't enough clerics and because I wanted to be a druid and Sandy told me that Druids were a combo of Cleric and Ranger.) Knights chose Knights to defend and protect. Barbarians chose that to deal damage. Rangers chose ranger to fight from the back and hit more frequently. Mages chose that to do magic on people. If the rogue is simply generating money from a butterfly, you can explain the rogue found money hidden in the hollow of a tree he stabbed or buried in the dirt that his lunge uncovered. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Silver City Mafia: Day 3 - Winchester '73
Dannylonglegs replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well that seems to answer the question "Where's our SK/vig kill." Poisoners are usually Non-Town, so unfortunately this doesn't answer the "Where's the vig kill?" Question unless the vig is the poisoner. Also, I'm pretty sure just by reading the rest of that sentance (It's currently Unknown where Zachary's loyalties lay... We'll find out in the morning...hopefully...) that we'll find out his allegiance tommorow. Also, is it possible that Zachary's despair and giving-upness stemed from knowing he was poisoned? That was just a thought I had after seeing his death, but it could be wrong. -

Silver City Mafia: Day 3 - Winchester '73

As a one-time member of a cult (not now, it was in another mining city called Heartlake... I think it was in Utah), I can tell you I highly doubt we've got one now. Not only would a cult be less willing to sacrifice a cultist than a scum team would a member (because to do so would also sacrifice the element of surprise a cult benefits from.), but furthermore, that doesn't explain at all why we aren't seeing a vig/SK kill. Are you suggesting that there's a Cult instead of a vig? I personally believe that we're unlucky enough to have either an inactive vig, an unlucky vig, or a dead vig, or a combination of the three. It's also possible that we don't have an SK, or that the SK has a mechanic in place that limits the amount of kills it can make (like what I had in that Town that practiced prohibition so long ago.) A vig, or lack of one, has nothing to do with a cult, and in-fact, the lack of a vig may be evidence that there isn't a cult, since such a game would be scewed in the scum/cult's favor. I am worried that we haven't seen a second kill and it's already day 3. I just think it means the scum have found our vig, or that the vig is already dead (or that the vig was inactive yesterday and got blocked/protected against tonight.) hopefully there'll be a vig kill tonight that'll end our fears. Also, to metagame a bit, does anyone seriously think this God would have a cult in his first game of life just like that horsey-dragony God did in hers? Great, we're FoSing again? A simple, "I'm suspicious of Zachary" wouldn't suffice? I'll admit, I'm confused by Zachary's sudden "I quit." post, but to me it seems like a townie move (but not a pro-town move). I don't think a scum team would provide zachary with such low confidence. -

My pooor mommy! Now I ain't got no body but my pigs to keep me company. *sobs* *kisses pig* While I'm not overly pleased that Esther turned up a Townie, I think it's safe to say she was not pro-town, regardless of her actual affiliation. I was hoping her bizarre behavior was that of a doomed scum teasing the Town, but I'm not upset that she's gone. -
I agree. this seems to be more of a QM balancing issue. I also agree that SP-disregarding baddies should be limited to only a few per Quest, and that SP should be circumvented in different, fairer ways. Usually it's not so much a problem, in my mind, Endgame's recent battle nonwithstanding. I think a baddie that disregards gold collection would be very interesting... but I've seen plenty with very excluding elemental immunities (Ancients and Etherials make mages cry). Monsters that disregard row negate rangers' gimmic and those are more common than SP disregarders. Healing disregarders would be interesting to (ie: once hit by this special, target cannot be healed for the next round.) or something, but healing being disregarded would probably piss people off more than it would make a fight fair. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Yes, more Shield drops is a great solution. I dropped two nice ones in my first Quest, and I'll continue to cater to each of the classes. More artifacts that give SP to knights are alright to, like Knight's armour, or helmets usable by knights only. That doesn't mean that SP is the exclusive territory of Knights though. I think one of the best aspects of knights and many of their advanced classes is their ability to protect the party. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
I don't like that. Not all enemies pierce SP, and in-fact, most shouldn't but those rare ones that do should be the bane of knights and force a strategy that allows the knight to target someone else while those with lower SP take on the opponent. If it comes to it though.I wouldn't mind if Shields were immune to SP disregarding, but other things like Armour and cloaks were not. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Sylph nudged Pretzel. "Ask about Padfoot already." -
I'm back. This House moving stuff is a nightmare. We were supposed to move a week ago, but the buyers couldn't make the mortgage, so the move was postponed a week. \ Anywho. Am I the only one who thinks that the classes are all rather fairly balanced and that the gloves of overkill are not OP? Sure Flipz broke the system, but I didn't even think they were worth the money they cost. Unless you really go out of your way to break the stupid things, you can earn a modest amount of money (no more than a rogue or a non-witch advanced class of a rogue can.) Sure money is one of the best super powers, but that doesn't mean rogues need to be nerfed either. I'm a cleric, with absolutely no chance to make more money than I do through loot, and I'm fine with that. I really am fine with rogues making more money and being able to advance their weapons faster. That's how rogues work. Us others either need to wait for good Weapon drops (keep 'em coming QMs! No need to stop dropping weapons, IMO) or advance them by other means. Rogues make money. It's simple, effective and non-offensive. It seems like everyone's talking about mony now. It's like when I left everyone turned into a bunch of Fleurs. I sort of agree about the SP, but yeah, QMs should drop better shields every now and then. SP is not and has never really been only for knights, but they are the only ones that can make the best use of it. Some monsters can disregard SP, some can overrun SP through numbers, and some can overpower it with their levels. That's how it works. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
