  1. I'm sorry all, 69 and 76ers. Life's been hectic for the past few days. I'll be able to manage it all, but updates'll be a bit slow (1 per day minimum). After this week though, things in 76 should speed up. I'm going to put some thought into our battle strategy now. I've only been skimming, if you haven't noticed. Also, 76ers! I made your figures! I should have pictures including them starting tomorrow. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. "Better than most, I'd think. She manages to keep the Lords in check, and the Alliances strong, all while mourning her husband's death years ago. In-fact, you might see her in Orsedd. There's a parade Scheduled for midday tomorrow, and if you don't dilly-dally you might catch it. Most of the Lords are planing to attend. Dill was supposed to go as well, you would have accompanied him, in-fact, but he's been rather ill on and off since the fire, and the clerics think it's best he stays here and rests... I'd recommend digging outside." Stated the Hinckwell. They were inside a Trading Building after-all. "Yes. Taking-Advantage sums it up nicely." Stated Bart glumly. He seemed to fidget uneasily when Arnulf suggested the use of un-affiliated teams to perpetrate treasonous acts. "Umm. Y-yes. Such as Heroica you mean? If things get much worse I my have to. At the moment, while irritating, the Blackguard is serving its purpose as peace-keepers, but if they ever overextend their reach, I would not protest to hiring a 'black-ops team' for the benefit of the Hinckwell house. While I do not approve of such forceful methods in most circumstances, my boss has been known to influence events in the past. He even married the daughter of an exiled noble family, the Xanataci family, in order to gain access to the council of lords. Poor Ave passed away in the fires. Ennoc rest her soul. Dill kept the title though."
  3. "Oh, yeah. I suppose I should tell you a bit about Sundestia." blushed the Hinckwell. "Umm. So, We're ruled by Queen Cyrene, as well as numerous Lords, some more powerful than others. Brendenton is ruled by the Brendens (Lord Brenden and his son.), and West of Brendenton (east of Orsedd) resides Lord Montresor, famous for his white wine, for instance. The Church of Ennoc also holds a great deal of power in the Kingdom. We're at peace with our neighbors through a combination of Alliances and the Queen's Army of Mercenaries, the Blackguard. No one would call them hostile, but they basically do whatever they please. The Queen holds their contract, but not their loyalty or respect, you could say. They've been known to Tax whatever they please, and declare ownership of houses on whim. Most people abide by it though. It's certainly better than a drafted army like many of the surrounding nations have." Stated the Hinckwell with discontent. "They are lead by a man named General Cecil, or "the Left-Armed General," as people call him." He looked around. The Trading house was empty apart from Samson and Norton, who were idly chatting in the corner by a cart of cloth. He spoke softly. "They say that when the Queen's Husband died, she chose him as her consort." "Not many people do, and especially the trading companies. Right now, the Backguard is claiming half of all shipments of gold into the capital. It's almost not worth trying to sell gold to Orsedd anymore. The worst part is that Argentil is famous for selling cheap precious metals, due to its proximity to the mines in the south of the Nathuz mountains, and Orsedd is usually the best place to sell to." griped the Hinckwell, clearly frustrated. He quickly smiled again though. "But peace is better for trade than war, in the long run. The Blackguard will eventually move on to a different tax, no doubt." He finished with a meek smile. OoC: I see it now too. huh. Weird. Also, sorry about the size. I'll try to make a bigger one eventually. It is the first map detailing the Lower Kingdoms after all.
  4. "Sorry if it's hard to see, but that's Orsedd, the Capital of Sundestia. Yes, just follow the road to Orsedd. That part is in the grassland, and safe for travel. Once you get to Orsedd, follow the 'Grauwood Forest Road.' That is the road we need cleared. The other route to Argentil is a long roundabout road that completely circumvents the deep forest, but takes a whole month to walk by foot, not to mention it's taxed by the Queen's Mercenary Army to 'Keep it safe.' That Road is called the 'Westway Road.' The Grauwood Forest Road can get a trading crew from Orsedd to Argentil in under a week." Stated the Hinckwell with a kind smile. "And it's not patrolled by the Army, either. As soon as the Grauwood Forest Road is reopened, Trading crews can start using it again, which will not only help the Hinckwells, but also smaller trading companies and salesmen." QM Note: Can everyone still see the map? It disappeared for me.
  5. "Sounds good Pretzel." Stated Sylph.
  6. "Great to meet you, sir." The man stuttered, extending his hand to give a weak shake. "I'm afraid I don't quite know how many, but the last traders to go through the road told tales of a veritable sea of wolves hiding deep within the forest. I don't know how much of that is t-true though. Rumours are best taken with a g-grain of salt." Bart blinked and took a deep breath. "Nice to meet you as well." Bart smiled kindly, shaking the knight's hand. "I've heard mixed reorts. Some say they saw packs of average grey and black wolves, some say dire wolves. Some of the more outlandish even tell of spirit wolves and demon wolves with legs as wide as the old trees of the forest. It may also be worth noting that the forest has long been the home of pagan cults and witches. Even in the height of its use, few people ever dawdled too long in the forest. Unfortunately it appears that the forest has taken over the road." He paused for a second, passing his hand across his combed-over hair. "Here. I have a map." he stated, pulling a folded piece of parchment out of his satchel.
  7. "Alright! Looks like we're ready to go!" Stated Samson, pulling himself out of his seat, setting his empty glass of wine on the wooded table. Norton walked in then, cowl covering his face. He pulled it back and smiled. "The arrangements are all set. We'll be boarding a grain ship headed to Brendenton." Norton lead the party to their passage, and they all boarded. After an exceedingly uneventful two day journey, the party arrived in Brendenton. The town was predominantly grey, with grey brick buildings and grey-tan gravel roads. A dense morning fog hung in the air, as the hour was still quite early. Norton and Samson lead the party towards the "Hinckwell Trading building" in the "Market District." Their tour of the city was not particularly noteworthy. The Town had a large population of were-ravens, and many buildings were in advanced stages of repair, after what might have been a city-wide fire. They passed two Cloth Shops. One managed by a sad-looking pale man, wearing the Hinckwell colours, and another maned by an arrogant looking fat man with a shiny sword. His stall had a black copper bat emblem adorning the top. Once the Party made it to the Hinckwell Trading Building, a freshly painted trading House, they met a well-dressed man. [picture pending] "Welcome to Brendenton, Heroes, You can call me Bart. My... Boss, Dill Hinckwell, is not feeling well at the moment, so I am temporarily taking his place as Branch Manager. After consulting with a few of the higher ups in the Hinckwell family, we, the Brendenton Branch of the Hinckwell family Trading Company, have determined a fiscally sensible solution to our current economic situation. There is a trade road that runs through Orsedd, the Capital of Sundestia, to the important trading city of Argentil in the northern Grauwood Kingdom, and from there, north through the Nathuz Mountains and further. The road from Orsedd too Argentil has fallen into permanent disuse however, due to an influx of unusually aggressive wolves five years back. We need this road reopened. We need a group of heroes to clear the road and find out what incited the wolves to become aggressive in the first place and neutralize it too."
  8. What can I say? I was born to dance! But in all seriousness, anything I say is not meant to be offensive. If it comes off as such, I'm really sorry. It's just my attempt to add some levity to a game that asks everyday people to hide secrets and manipulate eachother to get ahead. I tease people sometimes, but it's all in good fun, not because I think I'm better than anyone. And the real reason behind the PM was to save my butt on the (excedingly) off-chance we didn't actually win. That and I wanted to finally defend myself, and also wanted to deflect attention away from myself for the purposes of night actions. Not because I wanted to break your body and spirit like Bane on Batman. I'm so glad we janitored you, as nasty as that might sound. I think that was what really sealed our victory. If the Town knew for sure that you weren't scum, they would not have been as wiling to vote off TBW. The day before the net was tightening around us, but by janitoring you, we ensured that the net stopped moving in long enough for us to deliver our coup de grace. ~Insectoid Arisotcrat
  9. Agreed! How about Chrome City, a mining city on an asteroid being overrun by the trans-red cybercoyotes! Yeah. I tend to get way over excited. Sorry if I came off as a jerk. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. Looks like everyone in 76 is ready to go! finally! I'll update when I get back to my house in a few hours, then, on to Brendenton! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. "Acceptable plan." Stated Sylph.
  12. Mwahahahahahah. I win. I had to stop playing after so many scum games because I forgot how to pretend to be a townie. Not that I mind. No one will ever suspect that I could be randomly chosen as a Scum again after this game! Oink! And on that onomatopoeia, Why is it that all pig-lovers are scum? Really! What's so wrong about loving pigs? Why doesn't society accept our love? It was only a disaster for you, Mr. Townie. IMO, this was a triumph. In fact, I'm making a note here: huge success! That was the intent. A complete victory, not just in numbers, but in minds as well. Why ruin the surprise for you? I would have sent it to the others who voted for me too, but they weren't the ones who thought up the argument. It was a good one, and accurate, but I maintain: Just because an individual is busy IRL does not exempt him or her from being scum. I really am sorry that my move interupted my game though. ~theLongwaitisover
  13. "Well, It's about time. We don't want to miss our ship." Second Sign-ups for Trade Routes: Closed Arnulf Chosen!
  14. I'm back! Great game! I had a blast tricking you all! To be clear, I was busy IRL for most of the time, but that doesn't mean I wasn't scum. I was pleasantly surprised that my inability to vote was a "Town-Tell." Overly? They lost midday yesterday when Boris claimed. We met very little serious opposition the whole game. (Which is not to say we weren't working hard the whole time) I couldn't help but start partying a little earlier. I got my karmic deserts when I almost got my well deserved bandwagon five seconds before the end. I literally could not stop laughing. I just had to send TPRU a PM response. It was the first time I had to defend myself the whole game. Thanks a bunch for the game Tammo! You did great! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. The three sat in silence, the cheery Hinckwell looking bored. He stirred at Alex's Question. "Eh? Oh, it's probably 3ish. The next ship to leave will leave around 6. Do you want a drink? I'm sure I could spare a coin for someone who'll help us out. It is Brendentonian custom to offer wine to guests before business transactions. Usually it's refused as part of the custom, but you aren't a Brendentonian, are you?"
  16. Between a rock and a hard place. Trade Routes' Sign-Ups have taken longer than expected to say the least.

  17. On second thought, It's pretty late where I am, and I'm going to be busy again tomorrow. Sign-Ups will last one more day, after which point they will close for-real, whether Escort Service is over or not. I'd do it now, as I have enough interested members, but I feel like I'd be ripping them off if I started tonight before I could really move the Quest along quickly (If they so desire it.) Sorry Capt. for such a long wait. You've been with me the whole time, and I'm super happy. You'll make back the gold she took from you when you had your pants down (metaphorically speaking), you have my word. In other news, my Laptop has been fixed finally, so I won't be as inactive everywhere. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  18. "Wise words." Stated Sylph, his narrator still being lazy. Battle Order: > Pretzel vs. Big Red > Dreyrugr vs. Feldorin > Erik vs. Reg Goldjaw (bone) > Nessa vs. Big Red > Sylph vs. Big Red
  19. Sorry that took more than two hours. Let's get this Quest rolling! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. "That's not a bad idea." Stated Sylph, blatantly plagiarizing the work another party member did because his narrator was too busy to think out a strategy of his own. Battle Order: > Dreyrugr vs. Feldorin > Pretzel vs. Big Red > Erik vs. Reg Goldjaw (bone) > Nessa vs. Big Red > Sylph vs. Big Red
  21. Ah, well. It was a fun idea while it lasted. Sign-ups will close in five minutes! Two hours. Just got busy. Also, now would be an appropriate time to stop rejoicing. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  22. Hmmm. Yes. This pleases me. Sign-ups will remain open until Escort Service closes. It's funny because the Quests are somewhat similar in some aspects... Well, you'll see. And, to be clear, there is the possibility of Shadeaux Reputation. I guess this means I won't be consulting Endgame for my Big Boss. You have all been spared. Rejoice puny mortals. Well, don't rejoice too much, lest you trigger the falling rocks. Mwahahahahaha!!! So many new plans. So many involving Newts. Yes. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  23. If nobody else signs up for Quest 76, I suppose I'll ask Karie to join-on for the trip, but I'm sort of disappointed by the lack of turn out. Sign-ups will remain open until sometime tomorrow, at which point I'll ask Karie to join. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
