  1. Well done, it looks really good.
  2. Thanks for the comments everyone! For the people who are interested I also have a pic of the offical haunted mansion next to my own.
  3. I have some really good memories of the bat knight series. When I was young I didn t think he was a vampire, I thought he was a really badass bat lord ( like Batman but medieval). Loved the series. I had many of those flying machines ( both the witch and bat lord) because that is what my parents could afford. If you think about it, yes he could be a vampire but why is he not afraid if the sun (mostly Sunset in the series background). I have some really good memories of the bat knight series. 4. Good evening, It is almost the time of the year for scary stuff! To celebrate halloween I made a haunted mansion based on the official one with a Scooby Doo theme. Enjoy. Haunted Mansion of the day. Lets have a closer look. Back of the mansion with a broken wall. Top of the mansion (with a spooky guest). Finally our friends arrive. Close-up Our friends are making preparations before entering the mansion. Once you see it... Scooby & Shaggy will investigate the front porch Why are Scooby & Shaggy in distress? Oh... Meanwhile Velma, Daphne & Fred are investigating the back of the mansion. Lets have a closer look. Some weird things going on in this mansion. All these monsters. Lets take a look in that window over there. I think our friends have had enough for today. Yikes! See ya later! Comments are welcome. :) More pictures at my Flickr account. https://www.flickr.com/photos/118506643@N02/?
  5. Council of Elrond gets my vote. It captures the atmpsphere of the scene very well and gives us two unique minifigures for a reasonable price.
  6. My man! This looks just like the movie. Well done! I like how you recreated the snowy look. I would really like to see "the battle of five armies" take place in front of it :D Love it.
  7. Thanks everyone! I got most of my bricks from LoTR and Hobbit sets and lots of grey slopes from a bricklink order to build mountains. The windows and doors came from the Lone Ranger 79109 set. I got my inspiration from this little building in the middle. It is a really small building if you stand in front of it. This is supposed to be the smallest house in the city of Ghent. As you can see the door -or window that looks like a door- on the first floor leads to nowhere.
  8. Hello eurobrickers! I made a modular LEGO pub. The building is based on a pub that is located in the city of Ghent. I did not put many details on the backside of the house because the house is supposed to be surrounded by other buildings. You can only see the front of the building IRL. This is also the first time I made something that has nothing to do with LoTR. Tell me what you think. Thanks for looking!
  9. For my nephew's first birthday I made his name out of Lego to display on his birthday party.
  10. I was kinda disappointed with the movie tbh. So many stupid filler moments that could have been used for more interesting scenes. The iron hill dwarves were badass but you see too little of them. And Azog looks amazing in BoFA. We should have gotten a really pale armored Azog like really really white, it would look more like the movie Azog than the one we have now.
  11. Category A: #1 #3 Category B: #4 #6 Category C: #4 #3
  12. I have yet to see BoFA sets in most stores here in Belgium. I would expect the sets to be in stores before the movie.
  13. Saw BoFA yesterday. Spoilers below The first half of the movie was great but the second half could not fulfill my expectations. Many scenes were left out in favor of the extended edition, even scenes that were in the trailers. Alfred was annoying as hell. He is like the Jar Jar Binks of the Hobbit trilogy (he was not as annoying in Desolation of Smaug). Bards children also got too much screentime. The only thing they do is call out each others names. Dad!!! Bain!!! Sigrid!!! Tilda!!! The battle itself wa alot of fun but when they switched to the Ravenhill scenes it only got worse. I wanted more dwarf and elven action. One more thing that bothered me was how easy the trolls, goblins and orcs die in this movie. In Lotr they had so much trouble killing the moria troll even with Aragorn, Gimli, Gandalf and Legolas while in BoFA they die so easy it seemed. Oh and the Wargs were nowhere to be seen in this movie... The eagles and Beorn were also a letdown, they had like 30sec of screentime. I would rate the theatrical editions of The Hobbit trilogy like this: 1 The Desolation of Smaug 2 Unexpected yourney 3 Battle of The Five Armies I will await the extended edition of BoFA and maybe we will see some Wargs in that one :)
  14. Just like in the movie! Great posing.
  15. All my parts come from the hobbit and lotr sets. I wanted a big uruk hai army so the extra bricks in the 9471 uruk hai army set were verry usefull for mocs. The colors used in the lotr/hobbit sets are also very usefull for realistic creations (not many bright coloured bricks). I used bricklink once for a lot of dark grey slopes/bricks and now I can build all the rocks I need.
  16. It is easy to say to just start building but you have to have a general idea of what you are trying to achieve. You have to take into account the amount of bricks you have and at what scale you want to build. I also think the right use of colors can make or break a moc. I have alot of sand green and bley from my lotr/hobbit collection and those are ideal for building castle's/ fortresses in that style. Also start with something small like a watchtower to learn some basic building techniques. My creations got bigger when i had more bricks at my disposal, I only have orthanc on display all my other sets are used for parts. For my last creation I drew a sketch of a island with a fortress on rocks and a bridge connected to a watchtower. So I started with building a sturdy foundation. After that I just used my imagination but I did not forget what i wanted to achieve. In the picturre below you can see the beginning of my rock foundation and you can also see a little "cave". And here is the finished island. This took me a whole month to build so you got to have some patience when building something bigger. Good luck and don't give up. I also get frustrated at times (searching for parts is my bane).
  17. What I want to see is. -Gondor soldier variants -Denethor/Faramir -Eowyn -Witch king in black armor -Sauron in armor If we get those the most important lotr characters are represented.
  18. This is great. The colors ands cale are well done so that it looks just like in the movie.
  19. Thank you all for the positive comments. :) I appreciate it. Haha awesome :) In such harsh times king Aragorn's speeches are much needed. I will consider it. I like to build tolkien moc's so I cannot promise much :p I have bought helms deep 3 times and uruk hai army 12 times. Most of the bricks in my collection are from those sets and other hobbit/lotr sets. Those would also be good options as a last resort. I wanted to build something different than the usual middle earth places.
  20. What would happen if Sauron found the one ring before Bilbo? The hobbits would be wiped out, Gandalf would not become the white, Saruman would be defeated, ... So many scenario's that could happen :) In this creation the last of men, elves and company have taken refuge in a fortress surrounded by water. More photo's here https://www.flickr.com/photos/118506643@N02/ Thanks for watching. Well see ya later.
  21. I love it! this is what I call a castle. the details on the entrance wall are well done and the round tower fits in perfectly.
  22. This is what's happening in the picture.
  23. Love the big heads coming out of the barrels. :D Good work.
  24. I enjoyed this very much! Good work wih the pictures, you showed about everything there is too see. Love the little cameo's of the Lego movie and Toy Story :)
  25. The shadows and dark atmosphere were created on purpose. Dol Gulldur is dark and full of shadows, so I wanted to show this in the pictures. Almost all of the pictures were shot without flash. I have also shot some pictures outside in my garden. Thank you. :) That is interesting! What is Tolkien MUD if I may ask? Is it design for a website?
