Review: Ladybird Atlantis Books w/minifigs
XimenaPaulina replied to greg3's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Those are lovely purchases, really a great way to get the Atlantis creatures. The red octopus is the best! Sadly, this might not come in our part of the world. Thanks for sharing this greg! -
Complete 8072 in a Packet
XimenaPaulina replied to hawkyboy4's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Sorry if I'm sounding like I've lived in a rock, but this is the first time I've heard of this interesting building idea. Makes me wanna try it right now. BTW, nice idea hawkboy4, and very cleverly executed. -
Nice li'l speeder, darthperson! Not bat at all for someone who doesn't MOC much, it's actually a great start. Hope to see more of your MOCs soon.

Rock Monster Ambush
XimenaPaulina replied to Toa_Of_Justice's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Pretty good LDD Toa_of_Justice, nice job! The design is a bit smooth for a Power Miner vehicle, but it's still a good one. -
Welcome to Eurobricks Pvt. Ryan! Enjoy teh forums here. May we know your favorite themes? Also, care to explain why we'd see you someday in Xbox?

Nice li'l ship Asilla! I'm impressed on the diversity of your MOCing skills, you're not just limited to one specific theme. Though I'm not much of a Pirates guy but I think the rear part could use some imporvements, maybe some sort of a captain's deck. But if you really could lengthen the ship more you'll definitely have more rooms to operate and put stuff into.

Thanks for clarifying that 'Pellaeon', pardon my lack of awareness of the existence of minifig-scaled Tumbler MOCs. Now that I've seen them, I stand corrected. Those are indeed nice MF-scaled Tumblers, but just like what you said, the accuracy to the real Tumbler was a bit compromised when scaled down to MF size (though it's completely understandable). I would love to see your MF-scaled Tumbler MOC one of these days. And thanks for the kind comments.

Since this topic has been revived and is kinda active recently, I'm going to join in the fun and share who I think TLG should seriously release in their upcoming sets. With the popularity of the Clone Wars series nowadays it is quite understandable that upcoming new minifigs might come from this series. Afterall, the kids (and their parents' $$$) are major factors that'll play a deciding role in which figs will come out. Here are some of my choices: 1. Padme (duh) - very long overdue, I need not say more 2. Ki-Adi-Mundi - appeared in multiple episodes in Season 2, and an important member of the jedi council in the Prequels. 3. Shaak Ti - her upcoming appearance in Season 3 boosts her chances of becoming a minifig. And girl kids will definitely like her, the way they liked Ahsoka (and to a certain extent, Barriss) 4. Luminara Unduli - I know there is already one, but Luminara's regularity in both Seasons 1 & 2 justifies an updated version of her minifig (though it would be the unpopular CW-version). 5. Minor ones - Adi Gallia / Eeth Koth - they've appeared in Season 2 for a couple of episodes, they could become exclusive add-on jedis if ever TLG releases an Ambassadorial shuttle set (where they both appeared in CW). Besides, if lesser padawans like Barriss and Nahdar have their minifigs, why not these 2 jedi masters?

I gotta admit the Tumbler will always be too big for a regular minifig. It's quite impossible to make a minifig-scale one due to the limited parts selection. I think this will be the smallest scale a Tumbler can approximate the look of the real vehicle based on existing available parts. That's why I intended this MOC to be a model only and did not put the Batman fig there, as he'll look like a midget beside the Tumbler. Thanks for the comments anyway.

Wow, this is an impressive MOC BaronSat! Excellent work! It maybe simple-looking at first glance but upon closer look you realized the great details put on it. I love the architecture of the building, the interior is nicely done, and the Clown window is really very creative (although not that smart - it pretty much gives away Joker's supposed-to-be-secret hideout! )

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
For me Shaak Ti looks just about right, you have to view her in the context of the cartoony CW-style animation to appreciate her. And let's all keep our fingers crossed that TLG will make a Shaak Ti minifig. And that phase "1.5" trooper seems to be an ARC trooper based on the file name of the pic. It really looks great and the double-shouldered pauldron is pretty nice. The helmet is clearly a cross between Phase I and II and somehow gives us the feeling that Season 3 is slowly gearing towards Phase II. -

Minifigs with tattoo's
XimenaPaulina replied to AllanSmith's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for sharing the additional pics Cutlass Iz! Those are really great tattoos, seeing them makes me wanna try doing them. If only the Pilot Extrafine pen does print on lego. -
I just noticed now one major flaw of this one: the color. I know the real color of the real Obi-wan's JSF is between TLG's red and dark red, but they still stuck with the previous dark red color of the system Obi-wan's JSF. IMO, they should have made this one in red to differentiate with Ahsoka's and Kit's dark red JSFs (I know the ref. pics are Delta-7Bs, but it is known that Obi-wan retained the color of his old Delta 7 in his Delta 7B).

MOC Collectible minifig Series 1.5 "Scout"
XimenaPaulina replied to greg3's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nicely done greg3. I like the combination of the different parts. -
MOC Collectible minifig Series 1.5 "Morris Dancer"
XimenaPaulina replied to greg3's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nice looking dancer guy, but I thought your Series 1.5 incoporates parts from Series 1? Unlike your other Series 1.5 creations, this one doesn't have the 'Series 1 look' in it. It pretty much looks like a brand new minifig altogether, but still it looks good. -
Minifigs with tattoo's
XimenaPaulina replied to AllanSmith's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Whoever did those tattoos is really talented, equipped with creative imagination and small and sturdy hands, and of course Pilot Extrafine pens! Really nice marketing idea. -
I kinda agree with you. The cockpit of the UCS JSF does seem to be large relative to the body because the cockpit of the real JSF is more covered in front (white cover), making it appear small relative to its body. On the other hand, the front part of the cockpit in the UCS JSF is not covered which makes it look large and hence not proportioned to its body. Providing such white front cover in the cockpit of the UCS JSF is very difficult to achieve in brickbuild, probably a white sticker to cover the front part of the cockpit piece would have done it. With regards to the astromech droid head, it is indeed large, making it a 3x3 dome would have been acceptable. And there is no printed body (no body at all, just the 'rotating' head) of the astromech.

Thanks for the pic whung! The whole bridge looks really very pleasing to the eyes, a pretty good set for display. As amazing this set is, it ain't in my line of interest so it'll be a pass for me.
-
You're right, but I believe Aurra was in the speeder after they got Zirro, so she could have been in the set instead of Shahah. Hopefully we'll get Aurra soon but not on another Slave I, I mean another Slave I version to get a new bounty hunter?

Ok guys I think we should stop this seemingly endless debate and get back on track. Points have been raised, heard, and hopefully understood by all sides. This ain't entertaining no more and pls. give consideration to other members who only want to know more about the new SW sets and not continuous arguments. The UCS Obi-Wan's JSF: UCS or Non-UCS, Love it or Hate it, it is what it is... So buy it if you like it, or don't if you don't like it.

Very nice MOC indeed, good job Sir Gecko! The broken glass effect is effectively done. Just a couple of curious thoughts though: - It's either the SPIII Jail Glass is ridiculously weak or the Brickforge crowbar has special powers to break a security jail cell. - The Elite Guard is one happy space police dude, look at that wide smile while chasing a loose prisoner.
-
Very interesting chopper design, and very nice presentation too. Good job de-marco. I love the double rotor blades, thought the body of the chopper seem to be light IMO. It seems like the body is too light for the massive double rotor blades that the chopper would be unstable in flight (would constantly swerve). Pardon my limited knowledge in aeronautics/aviation.

Nice looking train you got there Davey! I love the double-decked design and the 'grilled' exterior surface. Great job! I guess that's quite challenging to pull off since you have to mess with the build's exterior (literally paint it).

Very unique and creative introduction, you really got 'literary' talents my friend. Welcome aboard EB Lauwenmark! Nice avi too.
