  1. Ha, I knew it cannot be done using standard lego parts, I've tried the technic half pin in the newer astromechs and also failed. Thanks for confirming this Skafte. Then I guess we really have to cut the technic half pin shorter, but it's not a problem since we all have tons of spares of these.
  2. Thanks JD for sharing. It does look like a phase 1.5 trooper. Well, just goes to show they are slowly connecting the dots towards Phase II, and let's hope to see more of these 1.5 troop gear this Season 3. But isn't the season premiere a two-part special? So it's most likely that the first two episodes are "tied together". But still, it was a bit of a letdown now that we know there won't be a Kamino trilogy, it's quite disappointing since I also kinda expected for a Kamino arc. But let's see, it'll be better to reserve judgment until we finally see the season premiere.
  3. Welcome Alex Whatever! Yeah the forum name Eurobricks does sound misleading, but if first timers just try to read around they'll quickly realize this is a global AFOL community. Well, enjoy the site and hope to see some of your wonderful lego photos soon.
  4. Yeah I remember that small droid speeder (looks like a mini-AAT tank) in a Hasbro set, that would really make a fine BP vehicle. However, as much as we want to have those cool-looking tanks, I've always believed that for some vehicle or character to have a good chance to become part of lego set, they should at least be featured in the current CW series. Very rarely does TLG release sets that are not based on the CW series and the movies.
  5. I think so too, it's not that easy. I'll join in the question since I've also wanted to make this astromech third leg and until now I still can't quite figure it out. Maybe it's some kind of a customized part inserted into the bottom of the cheese slope? I remember some guy in eBay even selling these astromech third legs, so it might be a specialized custom part (?).
  6. Nah, not really want that bad. What most people want are the the official updated version of Padme. Of course, Padme can easily be done through customization, I even have one currently in the works. It's just that fans have been clamoring for the Padme fig for the longest time. I personally can't understand what TLG have against the poor senator from Naboo.
  7. Amen. You couldn't have said it any better. In my case, my MOCs comprise more than 80% of my total lego collection, so I don't dismantle them at all. If I want to build something, what I do is "borrow" parts from MOCs, make a rough build (LDD for others), then order the parts from BL, and return back the borrowed parts. That way, my MOCs remain intact, and at the same time creating new ones without dismantling anything.
  8. Nice one Leo-J, very cute little scooter. It's amazing how 10 spare pieces can give you a small crwation just by using a bit of imagination. Good job! BTW, what are those black horns/tails supposed to be?
  9. Another nice vig Peppermint_M! I love the 'manscaping' term.
  10. Fantastic review starstreak! As alwayss, very detailed and comprehensive (almost step-by-step building process), and crisp-clear photos are brilliant. I like the comparison photos with the yellow Lamborghini, and based on the reference pic of the real vehicle the model looks really very accurate. Now how I wish I didn't read this review, makes me wanna go and buy this one right now.
  11. This is absolutely gorgeous Matn, you have done it again! The details are just perfect (too many to mention), heck, everything is perfect! Very impressive work of art. Just one minor (but big) observation, where's the Hogwart's Express? Forgive my lack of HP knowledge, but isn't that train supposed to be in this station? It would have been more perfect if the train was part of the MOC.
  12. It's nice to see you improved TLG's version with your mods, makes the official one 10x better! The small additional details (the opening front control panel, electrocuted Artoo, Death Star Gunner) is really reminiscent of what happened in the movie. Good job on these darth yogi! Hope to see the final product soon.
  13. Very impressive mod, subtle yet very effective! I admire how you were able to squeeze that scope in a such a small cramped space. Very well done Solscudd007! Can I shamelessly copy this idea for my X-Wing?
  14. Mmmmm... Rancor... Sweet! It would really be nice to finally have this in lego form, especially with TLG releasing at least one new SW creature the past couple of years, following the footsteps of the Taun-Taun and the Wampa. I'm just not so sure about the Azure Angel and Ventress' fanblade, since both of them appeared in the cartoon series years ago. Maybe if they make an appearance in the current CW series. Though I doubt the Azure Angel since it can be just easily made using Plo's JSF as Oky demonsrated. Ventress fanblade probably has a higher chance between the two. Any set with the long-overdue updated Padme would be great!
  15. Thanks for the detailed review prachioso! Those are really interesting builds, I agree the AAT tank is the best among all of them - looks very accurate for a small-scaled vehicle. But I have to disagree with the mob, the other builds are pretty decent IMO. Those are much much better than the mini-vehicles that we get from BPs. Yeah they might be inaccurate or non-canon, but the designs are quite unique and interesting. And all of these for 240 parts and $20? Not bad at all.
  16. It's simply because there hasn't been a prominent Quarren character in the series, they all seem to be just background aliens (in the CW CGI/cartoon series, and OT/PT movies). Maybe we could see one in lego form if they will create a main Quarren character which plays an important role in the series.
  17. Great to see a clearer photo, though it's still preliminary. It's good to know that we'll be getting at least 2 jetpacks for the Mandos, I think that's ok enough, since I highly doubt all of them will each have one. It makes sense for the speeder Mando not to have a jetpack. The speeder does look good, but it could always be improved with a bit of modding.
  18. Nice simple MOC Adrian! I love how you made Lara float in the water. The details are just fine for an 18 x 6 vignette. Good job and keep it up!
  19. Interesting design for a submarine, though it looks kinda blocky/boxy for a supposed-to-be water dynamic sub. But i like your airlock idea. Again, this MOC would have been 10x better if it were a bit cleaner, it really looks like you don't enjoy cleaning your lego eh?
  20. Welcome to Eurobricks Conrad! It's really hard to let go of lego, that's why I keep mine. Just leave your most treasured ones with you, the lesser ones can go to BL. Well, do enjoy the site.
  21. Those are pretty interesting ideas Mr. Timms. It seems the first two are really due for remakes, I would also want to see an updated improved version of Jabba's palace and the Cantina. However, these ideas seem to be minifig-heavy, and if ever TLG decides to release these, I hope they give us new minifigs and not the just same old ones that we had. What we want are: 1. Jabba's Palace - Boush Leia, a Twi-lek dancer (recolored Aayla), and probably Max and one of his bandmates. These will go along with previously-released MFs (Bib Fortuna, Gammorean guards, Lando in guard attire, Carbonite Han, new jedi-Luke, Artoo, Threepio, Boba) to recreate Jabba's palace. 2. Mos Eisley Cantina - the Canina band can be easily made - just one new alien head mold x 4 = the band! Plus a new alien, probably an Ithorian. These will go along well with the other background aliens characters like Greedo, a Talz, a Duros (Cad Bane species), and of course the regular gang of Han, Chewie, old Ben, young Luke. 3. An Ewok Village looks like a very large set, so it would be very hard to pull-off interesting elements aside from the usual trees, bushes, grass. We already have several ewoks, and all the heroes are already available. Maybe this is the perfect set to have the ghost Anakin, Ben, and Yoda?
  22. Very nice clay figures computerbug! I must say you really have a talent on clay modelling. To create detailed models in a such a small scale is really very impressive. Great job!
  23. This is my personal belief: MOCs are works of art (like a painter's painting, a sculptor's sculpture, a musician's musical piece), and no matter how simple or complex they are they should never be destroyed. If you put a lof of time, effort and valuable resources to create a certain lego build, disassembling it after sometime just doesn't make sense. All of my MOCs are kept, stored in all their glory in my rather small mini-lego viewing shelf. As far as official lego sets are concerned, since they are just purchased sets and not really my own design, I have much easier time disassembling them. But rarely do I do that, just in cases when I direly need additional parts for my projects, but I usually replenish them on my next stop at BL.
  24. Nice and simple build ANT! Great way to use that huge baseplate. I love the simplistic but effective approach on the build, the final product does look an abandoned, failed, old mine.
  25. Very interestingting technique, first time I've heard of this one. Your MOC illustrates this technique very well. Good job as usual Leo-J!
