Preview of The MCW Contest! entry
XimenaPaulina replied to Artemis.L's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hi Artemis, I hope this will help you: Regarding deeplinking photos, since you're using flickr, here's what you have to do: - Right click the photo, in the View all sizes, click Medium 640 (or your preferred size), then Right Click on the photo again, choose Properties, then copy the Location. Then go to the Edit Post, click the insert Image icon, paste the URL then click Insert Image, and Voila! Your image is posted, like this one: Oh and BTW, I think you had your title entry wrong. You cannot edit it anymore, but maybe you could ask LuxorV to change it for you. This should be the format: Title: <insert clever title here> Subtitle: MCW Contest 2010 Entry Hope that helps! Looking forward seeing your completed entry. -

You just have to wait for your scheduled megablocks-whoopin' after my duel with Ollivander. PS: Uhm, I don't see any problems with my emoticons(?). Maybe you should check if your eyeglasses are clean. ---- Round 3 DS received from A-Ron. Awaiting yours Prof. -

I love the concept MB! It's good to see a different 'flavor' of Mace. Good luck in the comp pal! -

Slytherin Practitioner Johann Peterschmut versus Ravenclaw Student Philius Pylos Round 2 Johann Peterschmut | 4 _____________________Philius Pylos | 5 Protego! - 0 __________________________________Protego!- 0 Low - 1______________________________________Mid - 0 Crucio! - 1___________________________________ Mid - 0 Mid - 1______________________________________High - 0 Protego! - 0__________________________________Low - 0 Health: 4_________________________________Health: 2 Both duelists start the second round cautiously with a pair of defensive Protegos. Philius then tries to hit Johann in the body but the Slytherin practitioner dodges the attack and hits the Ravenclaw on the feet. Sensing an opening, Johann casts a crucifying Crucio that stuns the student. Seeing his opponent slow to recover, the Slytherin once again strikes Philius on the body, leaving him writhing in pain. The Ravenclaw summons his diminishing strength and attempts a desperate low spell that Johann easily blocks with a Protego. The Slytherin Practitioner makes a furious comeback, asserting his might in the second round with a flurry of head-spinning spells, leaving the Ravenclaw student biting the dust. Will Philius recover in the decisive round or will Johann keep his record unblemished? Send in your Round 3 DS when ready. -
Leonard, the Star Wars Kid
XimenaPaulina replied to Santhor's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nice entry Santhor, but may we know what character is he portraying? -
Nice entry Capt. Genaro! That's Mr. T right? It's nice to see him in minifig form with his mohawk. Clever use of the thread for the bling-bling too. Good luck!
-
That's a very good entry PeR.N, especially for your first contest. I'm not familiar with character, but I certainly love the custom pieces. Good luck in the contest my friend!
-
Very nice entry Matn! You sure are living up to your Magenta magician monicker alright. I love the combination of the dude face, purple hair, and the girly outfit, it really looks cool for a cross-dressing cosplayer, but somehow gives me the creeps looking at him. I wish you luck in the competition!

Just a day at the retirement home
XimenaPaulina replied to Stegoceras's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yes! Another DBZ entry aside from mine. Very clever idea of an grandpa cosplaying as Goku. (DBZ geek fact: Saians, like Goku, don't age that quickly like a normal human does. End of geekness). Good luck in the contest! -
Nice entry Flare! Good luck!
-
Wow, this is amazing! I simply love it! It really looks very detailed for a cosplay costume but at the same looks amateurish with the tapes. This is one of the stronger entries IMO. Best of luck in the contest!
-
Nice work BlackKnight! I agree with the clever forced perspective shot. But it seems you have focused more on the military movie scene and thus making the whole entry less-SW-ish. Maybe you could improve on the viewing room where Vader and Luke are watching? Good luck!
-
Nicely done 501st! It's nice to see Vader and the whole family having some R&R with a card game. But letting the Wookiee play with them? Baaad idea. Good luck in the contest!

I don't really mind the slightly-off color of the droid carrier compared to the real one. It's 'passable' for me. And the accuracy of the build? This is an official set, of course it won't be that accurate. Seriously, I think they did a pretty decent job getting the overall shape right, the small size maybe an issue but that's something that a little bit of modding couldn't fix a'ight?. Don't expect TLG to come up with 100% accurately-designed sets due to parts-cost limitation.

Slytherin Practitioner Johann Peterschmut versus Ravenclaw Student Philius Pylos Round 1 Johann Peterschmut | 5 _____________________Philius Pylos | 5 Protego! - 0 __________________________________Low - 0 Crucio! - 0 ___________________________________Protego! - 0 Low - 0_____________________________________ High - 1 Mid - 0______________________________________Mid - 0 Protego! - 0__________________________________Protego! - 0 Health: 4_________________________________Health: 5 Ravenclaw Student Philius Pylos attempts to become a Practitioner as he battles undefeated newcomer Johann Peterschmut. Philius wastes no time and begins attacking by targeting his opponent's legs, but the Slytherin quickly blocks with a timely Protego. Johann then goes on the offensive and unleashes a Crucio spell that the Ravenclaw successfully deflects. Continuing on his onslaught, the practitioner tries to sweep Philius with a low spell, but the student lunges into the air and casts a spell that hits Johann in the head. Seeing his rival dizzied by the last attack, Philius once again targets Johann's body only to be countered by the same spell by the Slytherin. Then both duelists become defensive in the last stance with a pair of useless Protegos. The Ravenclaw student manages to score a hit and gain a slight lead after the first round, but the duel is still close and it's anybody's game. Send in your Round 2 Ds when ready. -
Based on this ref. photo you posted, the dark flesh arms do look accurate for Jar-Jar, but the generic Gungans might've been better with the old tan arms. Not that it would change, but I guess a good compromise would've been a combo of dark flesh arms for Jar-Jar and tan for the Gungan soldier.

I simply love how this bakery looks so clean and nicely-built, far different from other decorated medieval MOCs I've seen but it still looks very beautiful in its simplicity. The interior details are just great! Fantastic work mikey!

Nice random colorful LDD creation.

Oh my, I just love this evil-looking little critter! It looks devilishly cute.. Very impressive work Deviet!

Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Thanks for adjudicating Admiral Ron! Well-fought Cornelius, it looks like my Silencio was the key to the victory. Yay! Finally an Adept! After the terrible losing streak, it looks like Ms. Fabray has turned her fortunes around and is a bit on a roll recently. Adept eh? Here's a newly-minted one, and eagerly looking forward to avenge my previous defeat to you Hupplepuff. (but after my duel with C-Fox). Anyone care to adjudicate for Ms. Fabray vs. Ollivander? -
I should have made my point clearer, it's not that I find it totally wrong not to have landing gears, but it would just be better if the V-Wing had landing gears compared to none at all. Clear? IMO, the V-Wing won't look good if it just landed on its underside without any landing gears (as I said, I'm not familiar with the V-Wing design and just expressing my opinion). The Delta 7Bs, which is about the same size as the V-Wing, have appropriate landing gears, then why can't they put one in the V-Wing? And pls. do not generalize my statement that all ships should have landing gears. Obviously, the TIE doesn't need one because of the vertical alignment of the wings. And the Naboo N-1 Starfighter has different landing/docking positions (inserted in multi-level hangars). Yes the ARC-170 has no landing gears either, and just look at the official set on how it doesn't look right without the landing gears and just lies flat on its 'belly' in landing position.
