KielDaMan's Custom Star Wars Minifigures
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks Darth Jar Jar, glad you liked it. -
I’ve been doing MOCs for almost a year now and I just realized now that I’ve done quite a considerable number of custom minifigs, but somehow these have been overshadowed since they are always seen as just ‘part’ of the MOCs. So it’s now time to shine the spotlight to all the custom Star Wars minifigs I’ve done so far. Following the tradition of the great customizers ThePenguin and tin7, I’ll be pooling all my customs in this single topic for easy browsing, referencing, and so as not to flood the MCW subforum with new single topics. So let’s start the ball rolling with my first attempt at minifig customization, the ARF Troopers of my Lightning Squadron. The Lightning Squadron Crew Next one is The Muunilinst 10 ARC Troopers from my ARC Gunship MOC: Captain Fordo Heavy Gunner ARC Troopers With specialized weapons: portable rocket launcher (left), modified heavy blaster (middle), and Z6 rotary chaingun (right) Regular ARC Troopers This next batch of customs is the crew of my Razor Squadron MOC The Razor Squadron Crew ARC Clone Gunner, Two ARC pilots, and R4-C7. And here's my latest batch of custom minifigs, using Arealight's new clone trooper helmets. Updated Lightning Squadron using Arealight ARF helmets (with customized print) Clone Airborne Trooper of the 212th Attack Battalion Clone Commander Bacara of the 21st Nova Corps (Galactic Marines) Captain Rex in Cold-Assault Trooper Gear Clone Commander Colt of the Rancor Battalion Clone Commander Neyo and CT-3423 of the 91st Reconaissance Corps Here's a couple of additions to my custom SW minifigs: new-look Ahsoka and Keelyvine Reus from my JSF Collection V2.0 MOC at the SW forum. Ahsoka in new CW outfit: Made with a combination of spray paint and sharpie. Keelyvine Reus: This is my first attempt at designing decals. Arm prints were spray painted and detailed with sharpie. Well, that's it, as you would observe these are mostly clone trooper customs so far, but I have some other non-clone SW customs that are in the planning stages. Pls. forgive me if my customs are not as good as the other creations of other customizers since I'm still learning the tricks of the trade so to speak. I hope you enjoyed my custom minifigs and I'll regularly update this thread whenever I have new additions.

[Review] Arealight's New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Consider it done Doc! For some reason when I see a Kaskykk trooper/AT-RT driver, your avatar (and hence your identity) always pops in my head. --- On a side note, my acquisition of the ARF helmets might've saved me a couple of the upcoming Clone BP worth of dollars. Since my Lightning Squadron is now complete, I might just have to get 1-2 of the said BPs mainly for comparison purposes of the ARF helmets and just to get a couple of those new clones. Thank God Arealight made these ARF helmets. -
Nice LDD design SilentMode! I like the all-black finish a lot. The second design looks better and 'badder' IMO.
-
The brickbuilt model looks great! I understand the fragility of the roof, since it's more of a model than a play toy right?

Fun at the beach last summer.

[Review] Arealight's New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh, thanks for pointing that out, I never knew about the Clone Heavy Trooper. So that helmet is not only for Bacara, I'll update the post and include Clone Heavy Trooper as other possible applications of that helmet. -
Nice find Ronconator, so I assume this is an official Lego Star Wars product right? But I'm not really into stickers (though I'm a sticker guy as seen in my MOCs ). And what does the term "Reusable" mean? Unlimited adhesive sticker power?!

Hi, do you happen to be ThatGuyWithTheBricks? Your names are very similarly constructed. :)

[Review] Arealight's New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! yeah, it was really difficult and time-consuming to customise the helmets, but one really has to put effort if you want to get what you want out of these great custom helmets. As always with my uniquely-numbered posts! (weird huh?) I ran out of 'steam' to customise it (read: tired as hell). Besides, even if I did it, it's not appropriate to see a lone Clone Commando. Maybe sometime when I get three more of the commando helmets and create my own Delta Squad. I haven't got those yet. I reserved this review solely for the clone helmets, adding the Mando helmet would make it look out-of-place. Beside I still don't have the new Boba Fett fig. So maybe another member could do a comparative review on that. Not really, but I'm just trying to be active like my idols, the posting greats prateek, lightningtiger, and Big Cam. Back on topic: What?! The AT-RT Driver helmet is your favorite? Are you sure? Actually, I contemplated putting your name there as the Sample Application for the AT-RT driver, but scrapped it the last minute since I know you wouldn't want to be called a 'Bulldog'. Regarding the Phase II armor, that was a last minute decision as well, I originally planned to make it an Operation Kinghtfall 501st Legion trooper, but the CW fan in me made me do Colt instead. -
[Review] Arealight's New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets
XimenaPaulina posted a topic in LEGO Star Wars
Product: Custom Clone Trooper Helmets Producer: Arealight Custom Work Date Released: October 27, 2010 Price: US$ 2.50 each Color Availability: White, Black, Sand Green, Metal Silver (new) Last October 27th, master customizer Arealight has finally released the highly-anticipated new custom clone trooper helmets (“Space Helmets of ABS Plastic” as Arealight calls it). Being a fan of LSW, it is a must for me to get a hold of these interesting new custom helmets, so I immediately placed an order that very same day. I received the items last week and after the necessary preparations, I now present to you a full comprehensive review of Arealight’s New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets. (I’ll just let the photos do the talking and just interject some comments along the way) ARF Trooper Helmet Let’s start with my most favourite among the batch, the ARF Trooper helmet. Interestingly, this one is very similar in idea with the upcoming ARF Trooper helmet from TLG, and Arealight once again released his own version ahead of the official one. Without the benefit a comparison, I like this ARF helmet because of its cut-out eye-opening, which is more accurate IMO unlike what seems to be a printed opening in TLG’s version. Sample Application: The Lightning Squadron (updated version of my previous MOC) Other Application: Camouflaged ARF Troopers, Geonosis-camouflaged troopers Clone Airborne Trooper helmet Sample Application: 2nd Airborne of the 212th Attack Battalion Other Applications: Blue-colored 501st Legion Airborne Troopers Commander Bacara Helmet Sample Application: Commander Bacara (obviously) Other Application: Clone Heavy Troopers Clone Cold-Assault Trooper Helmet Sample Application: Captain Rex in Cold-Assault Gear Other Applications: Other Cold-Assault Troopers; Flame Troopers also wear the same helemt but with different print and color scheme Commander Neyo Helmet Sample Application: Commander Neyo and CT-3423 of the 91st Reconaissance Corps Other Applications: Clone Assassins use the same helmet Clone Commander Phase II Helmet Sample Application: Commander Colt of the Rancor Battalion Other Applications: This helmet has lots of possible applications for Phase II clones Clone Commando Helmet Sample Application: This example is made by minifigmaker.com and is not my creation, I just used this for example purposes. This Delta Squad uses custom-made non-Arealight Clone Commando helmets, but Arealight's version can be utilized to create a Clone Commando Squad like this one. Other Applications: The other known Clone Commando Squads AT-RT Driver Helmet Sample Application: EB's resident AT-RT driver, Brickdoctor. Other Applications: Kaskykk-colored AT-RT drivers Ratings: Playability - 8/10 These new custom clone helmets offer a lot of possibilities in expanding one's clone army or introducing new clone types that can be used in a variety of MOCs. The only drawback is the helmets are bare and without print, so one is left to rely on his own skills to customize these helmets Quality - 9.5/10 Quality is almost lego like, very smooth with no distinct mold marks. The white color is vibrant and a bit brighter than LEGO white. The sand green is comparable with the TLG's sand green. I cannot judge the other colors since I don't have them. A small nitpick would be the incompatibility of helmet accessories (antenna, visor) on the Clone Commander helmet. Price - 9.5/10 Very reasonable, at US$2.50 each for a SW helmet piece, it's a fair deal IMO. OVERALL - 9/10 Buying these new custom clone trooper helmets is extremely worth the money I've spent. These are highly recommended for all for any clone army builder or LSW fan in general. ----- Parting Shot: Behind the Scenes: Acknowledgement: Special thanks to Mr. Bluce Hsu, owner of Arealight Custom Work, for the arrangement of fast delivery of the items for this timely review. Fire away your comments guys! Don't forget to vote in the poll. -
Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

Is anyone adjudicating for you and CMP yet? I can do it if you want. -
Use Somebody by Kings of Leon
-
Looks good IMO, a fairly basic lego build but gets the job done as a Gift Card.
-
Very interesting MOC towwy! The design is very accurate to the real thing, even if it's a bit bulky but that's completely understandable considering the size and parts limitation. Really good job there!
-
Nice monorail MOC LibertyWesmania! The white coach looks good, but it looks out-of-place with the blue 'head' train.
-
Aachir's brickbuilt design is pretty good and can be used for your Nativity MOC. But if you're aiming for accuracy, BrickForge's custom sheep is the way to go.

Trevor, Richter, and Gabriel

Excellent customs Omicron! I also like the Gabriel fig, particularly beacuse of the nice torso print, broad shoulder pads and the kama thingy. Great job as always! -
Who is your Favourite Clone Trooper?

Yeah, as much as we want to contribute and post our favorite, I think this topic will get locked soon. Once Shadows sees this, he will instantly become our favorite Clone Trooper. -

MOC: Ye Olde Country Cockfight
XimenaPaulina replied to Ye Olde Pirate's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nicely done ye Olde Pirate, it's actually the first time I've seen a cockfight MOC. Though I agree with Big Cam, the pen should have been higher and not just one brick tall. The use of a fence or additional panel piece would have been better. But still, good job on this one. I totally agree. I've been in one years ago (peer pressure from friends), and I swear it was really disheartening seeing those cocks forced to kill each other with all of the greedy patrons cheering. -
Wow, that's totally an awesome Tree House creation! And you say your new at the Medieval theme? It certainly doesn't look that way, since this MOC is like a creation of an expert. I really like build of that massive tree, it looks sturdy and convincing enough to hold the 'concrete'-built house on top. Great details on the exterior and interiors of the house too, coupled with the lush greeneries at the base. Truly impressive work Sir!
-
Nice entry there Kumpelkante, pretty good job on the house. I like the idea too, though it's a bit PG-13 for the kids. Good luck in the contest!
-
Yeah, it's quite believable for me too. It would have been a different scenario if both jedi anticipated what would've have happened as they could have easily used the Force to prevent the ruble crushing into them (like what Anakin and Ahoka did in Point Rain).
