Which is your favourite upcoming Lego minifigure in 2011?
XimenaPaulina replied to commanderneyo's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Even with the new images of the Summer 2011 SW minifigs, my vote hasn't changed and Ms. Shaak Ti is still the best one this year IMHO. -
Ooh, very nice mosaic! Impressive job capturing Spock's image in lego pixelated form.

Creator Set 4939 Alternative: Aircraft Carrier
XimenaPaulina replied to Legostein's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I love this mini-aircraft carrier, great job on managing to get the necessary details, especially the tower and mini aircrafts. -
I wish you and your wife the safest of delivery CM, I'll include you in my prayers. Hope you'll come back with the great news soon.

It's really a wonder how a small 63-piece set can transform into very nice alternative builds with only a bit of imagination and of course, some mini-MOC building expertise of Legostein. Both models are really very well done considering the parts limitation, great job as always Christopher!

Nice start Gen. Magma, I love the SNOT approach of the wings ala-marshal banana's X-Wing. I'll keenly observe the progress of this project, and I'm pretty sure you'll get plenty of help constructive criticism from our resident X-Wing expert (fallenangel).

Haha, nice pun Mood, and no I won't 'Kiel' you anymore. Seriously, I appreciate the resized pics, thank you. And as always, another high-quality Steampunk SW creation, I simply love the propellers for the quad engines! Impressive work, and pls. keep these wonderful MOCs coming.

Impressive Trident build Rook! The overall shape, design, dark red color scheme, and functional quadrant feet are very accurate with the real drills we saw in the CW series. Great job as always!
-
Excellent work Madi! Your sushi creations are very accurate brickbuilt representations of the real thing. Just seeing your MOC makes me wanna go grab some sushi from the store right now.

It's actually great to see the 'beginnings' of a MOC Expert like you AC, and this is certainly a very well done build even by today's standard. We'll definitely look forward for your updated version of this one!

And tan makes the Geonosian ugly? From what I've seen both in the movies and CW series, Geonosians do not have strictly dk. sand green color - they can be tan, dark tan, dark sand green, dark bley. And I'd take this new detailed Geonosian over the old plain unprinted one anyday.

It's great to finally see clearer photos of the summer sets minifigs, thanks for sharing NTF! I simply love the detailing of the new figs, especially Eeth Koth's headpiece, reminds me a lot of PoTC's Jack Sparrow. Vos, Ki-Adi, Wolffe, Wolfpack Trooper are all nicely done too. The Zabrak's headpiece has a smooth transition to the head, Savage's face print is quite ok but Maul's looks kinda weird. The other figs looks nice as well, good to see Luke with the new hairpiece, and Padme is ok, though I really wished she would have gotten a more elegant outfit and not the old 'assistant' one. Uhm, what do you expect? Geonosians are ugly.

Very nicely-done Farm Tractors legomaniac! Great job on the SNOT finish of the red forage harvester!

Review 7780 The Batboat: Hunt for Killer Croc
XimenaPaulina replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Surprisingly, I really like the overall design of this Batboat. It's the first time I've seen those rubber bumper pieces, and even if those have somewhat of an un-lego-like feel into them, these provide the batboat an appropriate rubberboat base. -
Review: 7779 The Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit
XimenaPaulina replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Another neat review ThePenguin! At US$10 when it was released, this simply was the best-valued set in the Batman line, considering you'll get Batman and the exclusive Catwoman fig (never mind how simple the build of the vehicles are, they are good source of parts anyway). -
Review 7781 The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape
XimenaPaulina replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well done review ThePenguin! Thanks for sharing! Aside from the Tumbler set, this has got to be my second favorite set in the line. And how I deeply regret passing on the golden opportunity to buy this when it was on sale years ago. Now this goes for an insane ~US$180 online. -
Star Wars Miniland to come in LEGOLand California
XimenaPaulina replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for sharing this wonderful info Doc! Those SW miniland builds do look promising, hope to see them even only in pics (clear and close-up shots) soon. And now that is a Juggernaut! -
BrickForge Unveils Two Brand New Colors
XimenaPaulina replied to Omicron's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Great! I love those two colors, it would certainly be interesting to see what BF parts will look good in lime green and dark red. Thanks for the news Omi! -
Excellent review Doc! I love the movie screenshots you used for reference purposes, that is a pretty neat feature of this review. Overall, the photos are crystal-clear as ever and the review is well-written, so great job as always! As for the set, I'd grade it as average. Even if the two major elements doesn't really fit together scene-wise, it's always nice to get the snowspeeder, especially for those who haven't got one yet. The introduction of the Wampa is certainly the 'catch' of this set, enough to make up for the rather basic build of the 'cave'.

Harry Potter Winter Break Contest Voting Thread
XimenaPaulina replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
So many fantastic entries, so few votes to cast. Well, here are my choices: Clark - Number 93 Diagon Alley = 1 point Dix - Dervish & Banges = 1 point eti - King's Cross = 1 point lisqr - Azkaban Mass Breakout = 1 point Maegnus - Zonko's Joke Shop = 1 point Superb job by all the participants, I wish you the very best in this competition! -
EPIC, simply a masterful creation of that grand-scale DNL! The whole build is really breath-taking to look at, from the castle, landscaping, surrounding greeneries, everything about this is just wonderfully-made. Any estimate on how large is this build? (piece count, overall area size, build time). Outstanding work overall!
-
Excellent MOC Dan! I love the idea of the dual sides featuring contrasting scenes. The SNOT build of the wall is very well-executed too. Impressive work overall! Just curious though, what vegetation are those white round 1x1 bricks supposed to represent?

Harry Potter Original Wizard Voting Thread
XimenaPaulina replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wonderful job by all the participants! But in the end, there can only be three... Cutlass Iz - Cryil Craven = 1 point The Lanterne Rouge - Venetan = 1 point tin7_creations - Sir Hyperion Fairfax Good luck everyone! -
Good job on the significant improvements of your AT-RT brickartist, particularly the leg structure and the feet. It's also nice to see the new leg posing. But for some improvements, I agree with Doc the front head is a bit blocky in the sense that it's brick-shaped, as opposed to being somewhat of a wedge. I think you have to address the side attachments of the head, I think the use of 3x2 wedge plates would be better than that assembly. I also think the the rear antennae should be double. The front blasters are good, but the illegal clip connection might be a bit fragile.

Very nice subtle mods brickartist, bit by bit your BARC is steadily improving. I see you went with the unusual but accurate leg posing ala-Brickdoctor style.
