  1. Very clever build indeed! Scaling down everything to effectively depict the Gorilla minifig as King Kong is really an ingenious idea. Great work TazManiac!
  2. Your 'Gangsta-style' is hilarious Jedd, I really had a good chuckle after reading the description.
  3. Haha, nice one Luxor! Who would've thought Vader is also into Collectible Minifigs? At least he doesn't need to use bar codes, dotted cheat sheets or the 'feel method', as he could just easily sense the contents using The Force.
  4. You lucky Jedd! You were able to see the Tumbler in person. The Tumbler is my most favorite Batman vehicle of all-time (I also made one before following Artifex's model), and I must say your version is very well done. You pretty much got the overall shape and design right, though some of the distinct details are quite missing, like the side glass panels and the air intakes in front of the rear wheels. But overall this is still a great MOC and much better than TLG's version.
  5. Wayno, you really have the knack for capturing excellent silhouette shots. This AT-ST one is simply gorgeous, like the Vader Helmet and your previous AT-ST entries. Great job and keep 'em, coming!
  6. Agreed, makes Eurobricks a lot more lovelier. Welcome aboard Selina a.k.a. Miss Kyle! It's quite interesting of you to be a fan of Batman lego which is usually 'for the boys'. I wish you the best on your Batman collection, knowing the discontinued sets are quite pricey nowadays. Do enjoy everything the site has to offer!
  7. Welcome to the forums Goomba! It's always nice to hear stories of parents sharing their Lego hobby with their children. I hope you fully enjoy the EB experience.
  8. Happy Birthday Svelte! Hope you could drop by the forums sometime. Have a wonderful day!
  9. Since RAC357 already has a similar topic in the Member's Introduction thread, I'll be moving this there.
  10. Excellent Church MOC renewjack! Impressive work on the glass mosaic and the SNOT finish of the front. The interiors are nicely done too, especially with the second level and the black bamboo-like detail on the sides of the crucifix. Great job!
  11. Is there anything wrong with "people having incredibly low standards for accuracy"? Count me in to those who think the 6212 X-Wing is a pretty good model. Yes, I like the way the models appear in the movies, but I certainly don't expect TLG to give me the exact super-accurate version in brickbuild form. Like I said, it all boils down to the accuracy standards of the FOLs. For your extremely high standards of course it won't satisfy you, but to the majority with medium standards (like me), we're all pretty much content with what TLG gives us. And since this is getting out of topic, let's drop this accuracy discussion now.
  12. Very nicely done house HeLena! I really like the serenity of this simple and sweet build. It really looks like a cozy house to live in. Well-done compact interiors with all the necessary elements packed in. Good job!
  13. That's where the problem lies, some of you have VERY HIGH accuracy standards, in your eyes the mini-models are not recognizable? I may have lower standards than yours, and for me those look instantly recognizable as the mini-representations of the actual vehicles. But guess what, you (and a few others) might be the only ones who think that way, and I'm pretty sure MAJORITY will see these mini-models are acceptable, which is the target market of this SW advent calendar, not some minority "super accuracy buffs".
  14. I may not be a fan of this SW Advent calendar, but criticizing the accuracy of the mini-models is really getting ridiculous. These are mini-models for crying out loud! And as what others have previously stated, there are "X" parts limitation on creating these, and certainly you wouldn't expect it to be accurate to the real thing. I wonder why some people get overboard crazy when they see inaccurate models. Sheez, if you don't like them, then simply don't buy them, instead of constantly bashing TLG when they dissatisfy your accuracy paranoia like you're some sort of "God of the SW universe".
  15. Well done brickbuilt version of the Batpod Jedd, you pretty much got the overall shape right, and the front blaster details are quite accurate. The only thing that I would criticize is the wheels are a bit large than what they should be, but I guess you used those due to parts limitation right? I would also love to see the Batman minifig riding this one.
  16. Very neat modifications you did on the 8129 AT-AT siseon! I agree you pretty much fixed the gappiness issue of the original model. As far as improvements would go, I'll just leave that to our SW accuracy experts here, I'm sure you'll get plenty of constructive criticisms from them. So far, you've already done well, looking forward for further improvements on this one, and also to your Lars T-47. Welcome to EB BTW!
  17. Great professional-quality shots as always smokebelch! The fantastic lighting is what makes your photos really stand out. Good to hear that P&S cameras can achieve such quality images. The trick really is the lighting, now to figure how I could emulate your photography skills...
  18. Another nice work Jedd, simple but very effective build. Pretty neat job on the bursting lava using those flame pieces, quite reminiscent of the Mustafar scenes in RoTS. It's also the first time I've seen those long technique-piece-with-gears-on-the-end thingy.
  19. Thanks for the pics! So it's not the real heroes, but Spongebob and Patrick in Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's outfits. Anyway, both sets are relatively small so they might not be that expensive, but these still won't be on my must-buy list.
  20. The Heroic Heroes set sounds promising. I'm interested to see Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy in minifig form. I wonder if they will come with the Invisible Boat Mobile, that would be trans-pieces galore!
  21. Nice, you know your SW facts very well. I actually didn't know the exact term, so it's nice to learn something new today. After a quick search (below), I must say yours really is a nice brickbuilt version of the real thing.
  22. Of course it's just ok to post as many MOCs as you like. I actually saw three of them already, and I must say they are all very well done!
  23. Very well done Jabba's Palace vignette Jedd! I love how the figs are cramped in such a small space, as it more or less depicts the movie scene quite well. I also like the trans-lime green accessory for Jabba (looking for the appropriate term). Good work overall, and thanks for sharing!
  24. Very nice little vignette Jedd! I love how you effectively used those whips as vines, the positioning really depicts this scene, with Batman having trouble escaping, pretty well. Good job!
  25. Welcome to Eurobricks Jedd! It was really nice reading through your brief but concise intro. I would have to agree with the 'skyrocket-high' price of our beloved Lego in our region (South East Asia). That's why we have to look for better ways to get our lego in an inexpensive way (online purchasing). Anyways, I do hope you enjoy the site, I'm sure you'll find it interesting here, much more daily activity than FBTB that's what I can assure you. Looking forward seeing some MOCs from you soon!
