Nice LDD MOC DarkDruid, at first glance the Octan color scheme is instantly recognizable. Well done!

Nice work Jedd, yeah I agree it's not bad, considering you made this four years ago. It actually looks good as a non-minifig-scale model.

Lego Spongebob Squarepants 2011 Discussion Thread
XimenaPaulina replied to buddy's topic in LEGO Licensed
And Sandy finally gets her flower on her helmet. Sadly, still no accurate squirrel tail for her. The rest of the photos here. -
I don't know if this was already posted, but here are two new items I spotted from fbtb's flickr page: 9003448 - Boba Fett Watch (32 pieces) 9003882 - Cad Bane Watch (34 pieces) An alternative (cheaper?) way to get both minifigs. --- Oh and I see we're finally getting a new shade of trans-green lightsabers.

I'm on an early-budget planning for my wanted sets of the 2011 summer wave. I'm torn between purchasing either the 7965 Millennium Falcon or the PoTC Queen Anne's Revenge. The SW fan in me says MF, since I haven't had the previous MF releases before, but QAR looks simply stunning IMO, with an amazing selection of new minifigs and this will be my first Pirate set in a looong time. Which is the better set to buy?

Thanks for the link! I have hoped for a better and smooth transition, but it seems the separation line of Ki-Adi's headpiece with his head is quite noticeable. Now I wish they just made his head in one piece like the Rodian and Mon Calamari ones.

Very nice modular police precint soundwave_sw! The relatively plain design of the exterior fits rather well with the 'conservative and strict' nature of the police department. Great job on putting the elements necessary for a working police precinct inside the various function rooms. I particularly like the two-level parking, and the 6-wide car at the bottom right corner is fantastic! Impressive job!

Now that IS a Tower Bridge. Simply a majestic build alexhui! The sheer size and intricate detailing of this structure is such a sight to behold. Excellent job on this masterpiece!

Congratulations TLR! Very well-deserved! -
Black Kitten
XimenaPaulina replied to hga09's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Very impressive LDD MOC hga09! I really like the concept of downsizing the classic "Black Cat" into a more affordable version, and that "Black Kitten" name is quite clever I must say. What's amazing with this design is that you were still able to keep the original details even in this smaller version. And thank you for sharing the LXF, I added this to our Index. Excellent work once again! -
It's nice to see how you relived your proposal moment in this simple but meaningful entry Syn! Though I really wish the contest rules would have allowed for photo editing so you could put the appropriate fireworks in the background. Good luck!

Interesting alternative mini-builds TOJ! I particularly like the Dozer alternate build for 6742. Looking forward seeing more of these from you for the 2011 mini-creator sets.

Another excellent creation jaredchan! It's nice to see the conservative yet still wonderful look of this one compared to your previous builds. The interiors details are as lovely as ever, especially the center couch and the horn wall ornament. Impressive job as always!

Haha, a nice comeback Jammie! Pretty neat work on the mirror image shot. And has Oky really grown tired of his Star Command suit? I must say he looks a lot better on Fett's outfit (until reality sets in and he reverts back to his beloved Buzz Lightyear gear).

Nice racer trailer legomaniac83, I really like the combination of the conservative plain body finish and the spacious interior that fits the racer and the various accessories rather well. Good work!

I really like the solution you managed for the lowering/raising of the upper deck of your car transporter Selander, it looks very 'clean' and rather easy to fold/unfold. Though I noticed that when the upper deck is raised, the rear beams is supported only by 1x2 jumper tiles, is that set-up stable? Anyway, nice to see how your MOCs develop over time, good job!

Another excellent creation M_longer, and by far the best among your crane builds! What's really outstanding about your MOCs is that not only are they very well designed on the exterior but the actual functioning elements really elevates your builds on a whole new level. I could just imagine how much time and effort you make in designing this fully-functional and visually-pleasing cranes. Impressive work as always!

MOC: 6-wide SUV/Agent carrier
XimenaPaulina replied to SilentMode's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Very nicely done SUV SilentMode! I've also been wanting to make a black 6-wide SUV like that, and I'm happy to see the proper combination of slick black body finish and the trans-black pieces for the tinted windscreen/windows. It's also nice to see you put doors there though I guess they are only for cosmetic purposes. A minor nitpick though is that the rear bumper seems to be incomplete being 4-wide only. Still, a good job on this one! -
Nice little vig THK, the ambush attack is well-depicted. Though I feel the tiles are a bit too smooth to represent grass, probably a few more studs on the ground will provide texture variation.
-
Nice one ThePenguin! Great job expressing your sentiments through your signature comic-strip. I could understand where you're coming from. Of course, I think the majority would prefer getting Batman sets over the SB ones, but I guess we all couldn't grasp what really transpired on the business-side of things regarding the Batman License. Let's just hope TLG somehow reconsiders the license in the future, especially when the new Batman movie is released.

I really like your final(?) version of the BARC brickartist, I think you already incorporated everyone's suggestions all the way from version 1 to approximate the best possible representation of the BARC in brickbuild. I'm quite satisfied with this one, I think the size is just ok, the overall shape and design are there, as are the necessary details, plus the effective leg positioning. Great work, if I had made this I'll be proud of this final product.

Excellent shots Wayno, WampaStompa, and Rufus! The quality of the recent entries are really very impressive. Keep 'em coming guys!

Another excellent Steampunk SW creation Mood! I think you nailed the perfect steampunk version of the AT-TE right on the bullseye. The overall design, color scheme, and detailing is simply spot-on. I did notice too the thin bars on the middle legs, but it's quite understandable on the steampunk context. Great job once again! Now I wonder what SW vehicle will you be 'steampunking' next? RGS?

Great to finally see clearer and more up-close shots of these new sets. Thanks to grogall and to others who shared links to various photo and video sources! Like what I pointed out before, the representation of the Geonosians are expectedly ugly, and this one is clearly based on the CW version, not the PT one. See the difference --> CW version / PT version As brickdoctor previously said, the CW flagship sets in the past couple of years (RGS, Venator, CTT) have been on that same US$120 price range, so nothing really surprising here.

That's a nice start brickartist, modifying the official Lego ARC-170 is a good approach. However, the first thing I've noticed is the slight blockiness and visible gaps of the nose. I actually think the official one can be modified in such a way wherein you could capture the smooth curved sloping finish of the real one, like what I did with mine: I think you should remove the plates on the top of the nose and retain the curved slopes, as this provides a continuous smooth curved finish for the nose. And the astromech head should be placed at the same level as the top surface of the cockpit pieces, like in the Side view, from Cato Nemoidia image provided by fallenangel. Those are the only things I could suggest so far. Looking forward for the progress of this one.
