  1. I also think Avatar appeared as sets before the show was really in full-swing. So I didn't know anything about it and hadn't seen it. By the time I did, I really didn't have an opinion on it either way, but it didn't make me want to buy the sets. I eventually did buy the ship, but because it was marked down to like $15. (I still haven't opened it yet :-P ) Lyoko though...that I do have an opinion on. It's utter crap. And if the regular toys haven't taken off after 4 seasons, what's to think it'd do so now?
  2. Good Grief...why do they always plan so many different conventions for Chicago. Just because something in in the relative middle of the US doesn't mean it's the easiest or cheapest city to get to :-P
  3. Finally had some time to get some snapshots of all my junk. Here's one of them... More HERE ...once moderated of course ;-) You may notice that most of what is on display is newer sets...that's because my stuff gets rotated as I build. Most of what I own is in several plastic tubs in that closet behind those boxes of sets I haven't gotten around to building yet
  4. A Minifig-scale UCS Imperial Star Destroyer But...seeing as that's pretty much impossible, my actual dream set is a Minifig-scale Xg-1 Star Wing Assault Gunboat. Logged a lot of virtual hours in one of those things...that ship means a lot to me *wub*
  5. I wouldn't mind reading a review. I just got around to assembling mine a couple days ago so I'd be interested in seeing what someone else thought of him. A can already testify he's more then just a parts pack...that's Umbra's job
  6. Oh good...it wasn't just me who noticed that then :-D You people have no idea how hard it has been for me over the past 24 hours or so not to say something that'd get me banned and/or put on an FBI watch-list
  7. Well don't get me wrong, I wanted Jurassic Park to do well (it should be obvious why ), but it didn't really lend itself well to a LEGO theme. JP is all about the dinosaurs, and aside from a lot of sets with the land rovers and jeeps and perhaps some fences, it'd be Dino Attack without the tanks and helicopters. I also doubt many kids would be thrilled with the In Malcom Minifig (although I'd love one) Now, Spidey has some good sets for the second movie when LEGO divorced it from the Studios line. But all they were were nice buildings and such...no real "whee! factor" overall. I think I accidentally watched Code Lyoko a couple of times. It was pretty much unwatchable, and most defiantly unbuildable :-P
  8. Now that you mention it...a yellow school bus and a playground with some kids using the stubby little Minifig legs would be cool for city :-D
  9. Man..these are perfect for my Wife... I can toss her a couple boxes of these, grab her a big box of bricks from S@H and she can happily and easily start adding more houses to her little brick neighborhood.
  10. No vehicles + Lack of broad recognizability and appeal = FAIL Because LEGO Avatar sold ever so well :-P
  11. I can only agree that the Barraki are the best single line in the entire Bionicle run. I have ensured I have a permanent place for them on my shelf and I think their display longevity will be rivaled only by the Toa Mata...who I also agree are fantastic. Fantastic and Classic. I think that nostalgia carries them a long way in the whole "best line"argument. (nostalgia? that was only 7 years ago! *wacko* ) But a close second to the Barraki, for me personally, seem to have not even come up in this thread. The Toa Hagah, Norik and Iruini, are damn near perfect. Great articulation, cool weapons, and slick looking masks that create a really striking pair of toys. Yeah, their Rhotuka Spinners are pretty much made of fail...but their Spartan Warrior-like forms sure make up for that little mistake. Those two are also forever guaranteed a spot on my display shelves.
  12. Yeah...we should have those...right after LEGO gives us Halo sets of course ;-)
  13. Lord of the Rings fans and Dungeons & Dragons players...now there's a frightening new faction for you
  14. Hasbro has the license to make Star Wars games, LEGO only has the license to produce building toys. And since Hasbro holds the action figure rights, LEGO is prevented from releasing straight-up Minifig packs or singles. So unless something drastically changes...neither will ever happen.
  15. Oh those wacky German mothers :-D I wonder what they'd think of today's Exo-Force robots or the skeleton army of the new Castle theme *skull* Very interesting article. Guy designed some lasting gems. Although it seems the "committee of super-experienced model-designers" sort of dropped the ball on the Mission Commander. It's a fun and beautiful set, but that sucker snaps apart if you just look at it funny *wacko*
  16. Thanks, that's exactly what I needed... ...I may have to knock a few bricks off of it somewhere to make it fit ;-)
  17. Welcome to Eurobricks KimT!
  18. Can anyone tell me how tall the Mistlands Tower (8823) is when it's fully assembled? I'd like to have an idea if it'll fit in my castle multi-plex before I build it up and try to cram it in there.
  19. Well you should have known this would happen. You say LEGO and Halo in the same breath and some people wet themselves in desire and anticipation. I love Halo and LEGO...but I'm just absolutely worn out from people who keep insisting the two concepts should become one. It will NEVER happen, and any brainstorming, daydreaming or creative MOCing of the mash-up has already been done. Let it go...let it go... :-P
  20. As far as ET goes...like I said before, Wookiepedia is your friend!
  21. Jaxxon the space rabbit...there's a sure-fire winner for a Minifig Or a Mos Eisley Cantina with the night-shift bartender Ackmena and her admirer Krelman. Or if you're looking for something from the Empire Strikes Back...Willrow Hood would just rock the hardest. No idea what I'm talking about? Wookiepedia is your friend
  22. I'd go clinically insane trying to add that much detail...and the Commander Gree is nothing but pure win X-O
  23. :-D Now that's just freaking genius right there
  24. Aw nuts. Stickers I can handle, but I'm a little uneasy about stickers for Minifigs. I guess when (and if) I break the sets down for storage I'll have to bag the Minifigs in their own little bags instead of tossing them into the "Minifig Mass-Grave" that is my storage tote for them *skull*
