That's a fantastic Fort Paul. I like how you used LBaixinho's sloped wall technique from Forte Branco. I am doing the same thing with my Fort Monck. It turned out beautifully and has many similaries with the fort I am building right now. You have given me a few good idea's for my Fort. The only thing I did differently was I over hung the plates over the wall by one brick to give it a little different look but I still love the very clean feeling it has the way you've done it. Great job! All the details you have included are fantistic. It really has such a completed feel to it. Move vegitation is only going to add to the final product. Very impressive. I love forts!

Tournament of Retribution - Spamming up Threads
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Adam's topic in Pirate MOCs
As the good Captain Blue Hair said we will create easy to read threads just for the judges as we understand that you have a special job to do and we really appreciate your taking your roles seriously. I appreciate your sturggles Adam and I agree there have been some postings that have gotten annoying but there have also been some very funny comments too. At the end of the day who each judge decides a winner is up to them individually and I support whatever way you want to judge the teams. The distinction between the Tournament and a building contest is. The tournament isn't meant to be about the best build. It is about who does the best job throwing the other side under the bus and that involves some trash talking. My advice is that people focus their comebacks on the scenes (what really happened, what happened next, i'd steer clear of the historical stuff because I think that is where people start to tune out - history happened - there is no changing it and history won't determine a winner here - you gotta make history to do that). A good comeback can be very funny. A good spirited arguement can also be entertaining but it is best when it spills over into bricks (as Lock and Super did). They did plenty of jabbering but they came through big time for us by bringing us a brick fight. My advise is if you have a good comeback then go for it and see where it goes but don't just respond for the sake of responding....and sometimes you just have to laugh and tip your hat to the other side (even though they are a bunch of horse killing/peeing freaks!). Finally - I would encourage the judges when they get their thread to provide some funny, witty, pointed comments. And judges should feel free to hand out a few of their own special awards, like best comeback line, grossest creation, scene that made the least sense, whatever...use your imagination. Building and talking about a lot of our MOC's on this site is taken very seriously and handled in a very adult way and I think that is a huge reason people like to post their creations here. But the tournament is like recess in school. We are playing with our toys together and getting to know eachother better and expanding our imaginations. The older you get the harder it is to give yourself permission to just play...especially with toys. I am having a blast and I hope the judges will do the same when it is their turn to take center stage. Thanks to everyone who has participated! -
Nice. Makes me thirsty just looking at it!

New Products from Hound Knight
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Hound Knight's topic in LEGO Pirates
Sooo cool. If you do one od the classic redcoat general I'll be getting one! Also I think you should do one of armendariz peeing on stuff...like those calvin bumper stickers -
What's the battle pack going to cost...right now it seems like the tic-tac-toe is a better option at $20 you get 10 minifures plus a few extra bricks.
-
Congratulations! Have fun and don't forget to occasionally abuse your power...as any good pirate would and remember...one can never have too many regulations (as quoted from the big book of regulations...regulation #2000667389.5)!

I was think more along the lines of Admiral B....The monkey got too excited and gave him a monkey "money shot"
-
Nice! I don't think I want to know exactely what a monkey has to do to cause rainbow dropings to be on ones head. Looks like a lot of chum buckets are accumulating in the sea...hmmm...I sense a shark attack in their immediate future!
-
OK children. I am older than both of you and its time for a time out Seioursly though...Admiral B just posted a MOC of a guy trying to get it on with a horse and you two just go on with your fued like it didn't even happen. That is what I call focus and dedication! Possibly boardering on the sick and creepy though...I am not sure what is sicker...your fued or the last MOC...though I am pretty sure its the guy who came up with the the redcoat on horse idea. Finally...Is anyone keeping count? I am pretty sure the Bluecoats have killed, tortured or injured more horses in their MOC's than they have redcoats...What's up with that?

Return to Sabre Island - A reimagining.
Commodore Hornbricker replied to JKooL's topic in Pirate MOCs
I always love seeing the original sets MODed. Looks good! -
Great entry. Looks like the Bluecoats had a real bad day! Poor Captain Blue Stubble! I guess we'll finally get the answer to that age old question when it grows back in...is it natural or does he color his hair? That'll teach them to moon us redcoats! I like the outdoor setting for the photos. Ironically - I finally got my blue hair wig in my bricklink order yesterday and now he has a shaved head!

First bricks snapping into place!
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Norro's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's a funny thing how after a prolonged abscense from building those first few bricks can instantly begin to sharpen all those incomplete thoughts that just half rolled around in your head for so long. Enjoy! -
Here is my MOC...That I had posted for the other team. Today would have been my day here so I'll put it in where it belongs.
-
Nice! I can't believe it took a Bluecoat General, a Bluecoat Captain, four Bluecoat idiots and some guy rowing a boat to kill a single redcoat deserter. And...why is it you guys weren't at the battle he was running away from?
-
I must have missed this post before. That is a very cool set.

Sad, drunk little clown!

The Lion of Luebeck (sistership of the Adler)
Commodore Hornbricker replied to maydayartist's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great Thanks. Take some close up pictures showing how to build and connect things (sides) and provide a little explanation of how to do the technique. -

Nice build! It looks very real. I very much like your use of plates on the construction of the front end and hood. -
I am not so into space these days but when I was a kid I always dreamed of having a space layout like this. Great job!
-
Joey! WOW. Nice come back! Tell you what right now I am voting for Super and Lock for MVP. I hope you guys fued for a long time! Stash....I think you have your dreams and our dreams confused....and yes...size does matter...but only in the waking world! Nice job (great idea!). I think it should coult for sure and if there was a funniest entry with three bricks or less you'd win hands down.
-
Nice entry Crystal. Shame though the Bluecoats make their daughters dress that way in public. I am not sure about this team. One or two people dropped out and maybe one more is out of town (I've lost track a little). I think the Bluecoats should post if they are ready if the Redcoats are missing their days...after that it is up to the judges what happens. Well done everyone...so many great and funny creations. As round one draws to a close, I must say I have had a real blast! Thank you all!
