  1. The only thing to make this better is a pic of all the parts included. ;-)
  2. Don't forget the blue and red chickens. *wacko*
  3. Crappy American comicbook character dies at the hands of Felicia, sexy Japanese anime / videogame catgirl.
  4. First the link from Brickshelf to Zerostuds vanished... now Zerostuds itself seems to be gone from the internet. Maybe it's down-time for maintenance?
  5. Next word: Microman
  6. They would've done well to just make like the heads and wings <insert that tiresome argument>, with the rest of the bodies on par with the dino in the green X-Pod. How awkward seeing 1-piece action figures getting attacked by bricky Lego men. I admit I was happy to see the "violent" aspects emerging. A good guess is that the line was (in America anyway) market research to see how the public / mentally retarded parents groups took to more serious, non-insulting Lego weaponry.
  7. Lipo For The Win.
  8. Letting the builders design new sets is an untapped resource. Lego stands to make much money by popping out such works of art by REAL builders (not the ill-named "master" builders). But, I guess 100% control over your property is more desired than profit.
  9. X D Awesomeness. It's nice being reminded that shoestring budgets can equal tons of creative fun. Man... Link looks like megablocks there with his Saint Seiya, unarmored body.
  10. Eheh. *cough* X-D That's the one.
  11. Admirable job he's done on them... but the studs are overwhelming.
  12. You should probably call Lego's help desk and ask them if the box version of missiles are available. Maybe they scrapped that design and already had the boxes printed up, or instead, they just didn't have enough new types to satisfy the amount of sets made. Look at the Exo-Force Striker and it's "missing" minifig legs... one call and you can get them. They HAVE them, but they weren't included in the box. Same with one of the Bionicle playsets last year. They came with green string, but the boxes showed string with studded ends. Took a few months after I called, but they got them out to me. Weird probs they've been having lately. I wonder where it's originating from? Sounds like some weird lack of communication somewhere in the chain of command. Yah, this one's on my list now too. Is that motor 9v?
  13. Bingo. However, is it possible to have one or two tags below a person's avatar data that show what forums they primarily visit? Like, if Billy visits Space 3 times, Castle 5 times and Bionicle 1 time... he'd have the tags Castle and Space under his stuff. Or is that too silly and/or hard to program?
  14. It's a bit pricey honestly. The real question is, do you have plans going crazy, bouncing around all over in your head with these specific parts? Are you in a rush to get these parts, for your creative juices are panicking that every second lost might mean 1 of a thousand brilliant configurations will be forgotten? I'd only be able to justify that price if there was some clearly defined masterpiece I was close to finalizing in my brain.
  15. Yeah, especially some of those SICK japanese builders. Hopefully they'll wind up there instead of being anonymous gods. I'll jump in. I hope they change the Bionicle forum to "open". Right now, it redirects you to BZPower, which is totally understandable... but there should at least be an open forum for discussing the sets themselves.
  16. Don't ask me why I'm asking, but how much is Lego "worth" these days? Like, any idea what kind of numbers they're looking for to be bailed out?
  17. True, but Piranacon (?) just got prettier.
  18. TRUTH. Whenever I buy a set, I buy two of the same one. There's ALWAYS a desirable part in a set of which only one is included. You're interested in Bionicle based creations. Here's the secret... don't buy just Bionicle. Buy some other Technic sets, if there are any. Even better, buy some system (brick) sets as well. They can greatly enhance / fill out gaps on a Bionicle creation. Here's me answer: 2 Piraka (as in 2 of the same one) 2 Racers (same) AND/OR X-Pods And ANY big Bionicle or Technic set that jives with the color of the 2 sets above. Also, if you see any of the smaller Bionicle figures, snag them for their ball joint connections.
  19. Brighter / Darker, Solid / Semi-Transparent... these are not new problems with Lego. At least not since 2001 when I got in on them. But it's UNDENIABLY been getting more frequent, which is annoying. I recently bought 2 white Piraka sets. One was white, one was grey/off-white. The silver parts... same thing. And I bought them both at the same time. >__< Sadly, I've been conditioned over the years to come to automatically expect this. Mexico... I hope it works out. The only things I ever hear of children's items being made in Mexico is that their action figure bootlegs are made of HORRIBLY inferior plastic and that candy made there contains highly poisonous levels of lead. Yeesh. Spooky. As always, if Lego loses the trademark quality of their plastic, it's over for me. And many others. And them.
  20. No idea. Your speakers on? Did you hit enter after typing in a number? Actually, I just noticed the program shuts off if you type anything below 37, so that might be it. Start at 5000 and go up in 1000 increments. Exactly. And what's messed up is, I've met ALOT of people who have NO idea what this "tv sound" you're talking about is, thinking I'm crazy. I can hear a monitor turn on rooms away. ...Just retested myself, this time without techno music playing in the next room. WAY higher. I don't feel like turning off the fans though... it's like 90 degrees here.
  21. Know that thing in the news recently where British shop owners are purchasing high-frequency emitters to ANNOY teens out of their establishments with sound only their young ears can hear? Yeah, well here's a way to see how high your ears go. http://rapidshare.de/files/23555028/sound.rar.html Age: 32 Audible Level: 16123 (I can "feel" the sound for a bit after that, but not in a consciously aural way). This little *.exe will play a sound at whatever frequency you type in (1-20000). Just run it, type a number and hit enter (must close and re-open to change frequency). If link is down, try alternate link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UKYFM5YF
  22. Oh, the joy that was leaving work at 3pm... going to the mall amidst dozens of strangers to play Mortal Kombat 2 until the arcade manager turned off the lights. Too bad the series kinda' went into the crapper after that. Even without the health bars and all that jazz, there's no mistaking who the characters here are. Scorpion's "GET OVER HERE!" move would've looked better with string and a silver harpoon point than a spear, but would've taken some tricky, suspended in midair photography. LOL at your attention to accuracy, what with the red discs on the floor emulating the ever-present blood spatter. The only thing that could make this any more nostalgic is adding the tormented trees background done in system, along with the pit stage. (spears a'plenty!) :-D
  23. where did you get them?!?!?! i wanted some for the joint parts and mod bricks. Weis supermarket, in a town called Shamokin, PA. I don't know how spread Weis markets are across the US, but I know they're affiliated with King's, Mr.Z's and Scott's supermarkets. Weird place it is... they only just NOW got in the purple, orange, neon green and blue X-Pods from 2005, along with the mini-Rakshi lookin' guys and last year's Racers sets. Which is odd, because they already had clearanced the Vahkii like a good 6 months ago for $2... *wacko*
  24. Heh... beat me to my own punch. X D I've only really been buying / playing with Lego since about 1991, and I can say I've broken a good few parts, but I've also seen a good few that were broken to almost broken fresh from the package. Like in the pic above, I have MANY of those parts in various colors with cracks in them. Some of that might be attributable to me being a mocer who likes to build robots TIGHT, in ways Lego would never do. But also some of those parts were already compromised from the get go. There were lime joints I got from NuiRama sets which actually had microscopic GAPS on the top of the axle hole opposite the ball holder. Then there was the all-too-brittle arms from the Tohunga sets sold at McDonald's (also lime) which just broke in two. The biggest crime in Legoland has to be those lightsaber rods... yikes. Like people in this topic are sayin', they OFTEN get stuck to a point of frustration where breaking the part it's stuck in starts to seem logical. God forbid you stick a saber lengthwise through the part shown above... it's almost guaranteed you'll have to shatter your teeth or break out the vicegrips to remove it (all the while DESTROYING it, cosmetically). I know I'm leaving out a few other problem parts, but I'm too tired right now to bother remembering them. : D Same here... C-3PO was a mess in plastic quality. Must've been a result of using metal flakes to make him speckled... ? Unfortunately, I do see that as totally possible. They better stop it if they are, for Lego's number one trump card against all their competitors is THE QUALITY OF THEIR MATERIALS. If they lose that, then they're just Megablox.
