  1. My my my. Such a quiet person. Only 5 posts after being here a few weeks... and he's one of the best builders here. :-D
  2. I'll hold off on a vote until I know more. Any word on how long Lego and Lucas are going to be waking up in the morning next to each other, or is such a thing not known? Seems like it's been forever... as I can't remember the last totally Lego-designed space sets... Life on Mars in 2001, yes?
  3. Yep. They're undeniably, 100% solid. No building parts. *sigh* Those promos from 2001 MADE me want to run out and get more Lego sets. These are just disposable toys. No reason for me to go to McDonald's this time around. : /
  4. Moving to Themed forum...
  5. Such ambition. Truly the qualities of great leadership. Master, I think http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/ is a good starting point.
  6. Are we talking like, scans or something?
  7. Well, I wear a necklace made out of Technic and often pile up my wrist with Lego tank treads turned inside out. That right there tells you something. It's always a nice shock when someone realizes what they are. And truth be told, there is ALWAYS, aside from the washing machine, a few bricks in my pants pocket. (Bins upstairs, but build downstairs... I wind up pecking at them and forgetting to remove them)
  8. Yeah, I'm glad I didn't use my CB "handle" from the 80's... "Thousand People". Lol. The internet's pretty much KILLED citizens band radio fun... noone's on anymore.
  9. I hope, with every fiber of my being, that it's not because one of them has a stingray appearance... and that Lego wants to either greatly delay or completely PULL the figure due to the Steve Irwin thing. I mean heck, they did it a few years ago with Alpha Team after the World Trade Center was destroyed... set 6776 had 120,000 units RECALLED, never to be re-distributed, because it supposedly somehow resembled the WTC disaster with an image of destruction on the back of the box (or something?), as well as the instructions showing Ogel flying a vehicle towards a city skyline in the comic, followed by dropping mind control bombs (I must've missed those events on 9/11). And look... it looked nothing like it: So I'm not just talkin' out my butt here. I sincerely hope I'm wrong though. :-|
  10. I interpret the word "tank" as "armor". Ex: Mantax Mantax lurks in the darkness and sneak-attacks his opponents from behind. He is equipped with thick armor that has poisonous red spikes, and strong pincers. Carapar Carapar is two times wide as he is long. With his long arms and enormous claws, he masters each obstacle. He is nearly invulnerable thanks to his thick armor
  11. I know what you're sayin'. That's why it's the geek answer. Geeks make apologetic, far-stretchingly LAME, bang my head into a wall excuses when defending poor writing of their favorite geek-thing. :-D
  12. More detailed descriptions of the sets at Amazon.de ...after (rough) translation: Mantax Mantax lurks its opponents in the darkness up and attacks it then from the rear. It is equipped with a thick tank, poisonous red pricks and strong pliers. Carapar Carapar is two times as broadly as it long is. With its long arms and enormous claws he masters each obstacle. Owing to its thick tank it is nearly invulnerable - only with electrical connection one has a chance against it. Pridak Pridak floats gladly calmly over its motionless victims before it very fast slams shut. Also the strongest tank is not for its razor-sharp teeth a problem. Pridak is well-known for its sudden anger. TakadoxTakadox is larger and more fear-exciting than all other Barakki. It lurks in a small rock cave, which shines in the dark. If someone goes past, he slams shut very fast. Kalmah Kalmah catches its opponents with its long Tentakeln and suction cups. It has three eyes and five Tentakeln on the back of its head. With those it is in the situation each movement behind its back takes place to notice. Were we right, or what? Not quite transformers, but the minimalistic designs were to accomodate play features.
  13. Geek (practical) answer: More powerful = more power expenditure. (Only use it when you need it). Don't get me wrong, I'd like to kill flies with a .357 Magnum, but bullets cost money, as does patching plaster for the walls. : p
  14. I've been using JINZONINGEN 73 since 1992, LONG before I ever heard of an "internet". (Didn't get online until mid-1999). It's from this Dragonball Z movie, which I'd bought a bootleg VHS fan dub of at a crappy comic book convention or something: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Android_13 In it, Goku was getting pounded by the androids and the subtitle popped up, "DAMN JINZONINGEN!" ...which made me laugh. Since the androids in the movie were named with escalating numbers at the end of their name, I used 73 (as in, born in 1973). (In Japanese, Jinzo = artificial, fake, mechanical. Ningen = human. So, "android"). I probably still have the bootleg somewhere... but it's been years since I owned a VCR. Ew. My internet name is almost 15 years old. 0__O

  16. im with sne on this one.. and yes we kind of ecxpected creatures like that crab and yellow aqua stuff..its no big wow and no surpise.. and what the heck is that boat about?they painted the hull red and called it fire..lets paint it white next year and call it hospital!!! Like heck. We expected red trans, open-to-the-elements canopies like in the aquatic Alpha Team, along with gap-filled monsters made out of reject parts. These guys are pretty far away from that... the subs being more sane looking (though the tridents need to go on that one...) and the creatures instead being creator set lookin'. They're not what we expected... they were a nice suprise, considering the gloomy assumptions. I've seen fire boats with red hulls. I'm not sure what the issue is you're trying to make. so you are telling me that this submarine http://brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=4792-1 dosent remind you at all of that in the 7773 set? im not saying that the new line isnt better but lets not say that we have never seen this before! In that it's yellow, yes. But aside from the tridents on that one, they're not slap-in-your-face ridiculous. They look much better. No GIANT monster hands coming off, more convincingly streamlined, "serious" animals instead of... whatever those things were in Alpha Team... :-D
  17. Yah, but as said, a promo mask WOULD be nice. I miss those days. It's silly to say it's a new character when it's still got someone else's head. :-D
  18. Indeed, this bodes well for the story becoming darker. Spooky spooky, serious fun. I'm not entirely familiar with the orb it's in. Are those halves that lock together, or are they the regular old bubble canopies just placed nearby each other? If that's what it is, I sincerely doubt they stay together that nicely, likely having an open crack on the top. Still, awesome.
  19. I was suprised to learn on that MBs site that the bricks called TENTE are still around! They've apparently changed hands over the years, at one point even being owned by Hasbro. Oh, I still remember those days back in the 70's... me in the car, literally CUTTING and POKING myself with their sharp, pointy parts on a space set while my brother sat next to me playing with his official Lego stuff.
  20. Totally. I was expecting gaudy Ogel's pet squid mech thingy sets, but these are much more in line with classic bricky sets. And the launcher is decently hidden on that sub, not held up over it's head by a bionicle arm and with a bright green plungerhead. I'm not sure how they could've been made LESS bricky. No super hyper silly fantasy vehicles like Alpha Team, just straight forward diving vessels. I do have one concern though... if there's a set that has ANYTHING to do with a stingray planned later for the line, I hope Lego doesn't do something stupid like pull it because of the Steve Irwin thing.
  21. Those dark blue panels on the Exo-Force set are awesome. In fact, every one of these sets are pretty good parts sources. I'm pleased with the AquaRaiders... definitely good, compared to what they might've been. Ok now... are we DONE with what the non-disclosure fans saw at Brickfest, or is there more still? :-D Ew, I just noticed that same Exo-Force set is shooting a green Zamor sphere from Bionicle.
  22. And now it's not called Pluto anymore. X D http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20060911/sc_...stanumber134340
  23. I snagged that cop car for $3.50 the other day. Great parts pack. ...I wonder what I should do with these stickers. I hate stickers. But at least they're not printing on the parts themselves. That's something they should do only on RARE occasion.
  24. Yeah, I've put off buying it awhile. I want the 4 disc joints on the undercarriage, I want the big orange parts. But the set should be more like 20, $25 max. It'll probably sell off before hitting the really good sales though. I had a sneaky feeling that "rolling" it would be difficult. Tank-treaded toys are rarely done right, Lego or otherwise.
