  1. Lol, it's quite alright. :-D Keep in mind that this is largely more a System forum than Technic, and that I literally SLAPPED that together in a few short hours (got the due date wrong... entered it 2 or 3 days early). X D Bioman... Bioman... I know that name. ... Oh duh, yeah... he was a Godaikin robot from the 80's! I had a smaller version of him, which didn't transform... but it was diecast. *sweet*
  2. I wonder when this is going to run, and which zones (USA, right?) are getting them first.
  3. You're not crazy. I mean christ, it even has the same head... no changes lol. But hey, if the lil' tykes get off on it and buy 3 sets to make it, more power to Lego. --The (really little?) kids get to freak out and build something they think is cool. --Lego gets to make some money from it. --And we, with our common sense and experience, get to point at it and laugh. Everybody wins! :-D Boy... that's one MANGLED mess of a moc, ain't it? To be fair though, I'd take that combiner over the past 2 million of dogfaces from years past. It just seems REALLY silly to call this a different character, since it's clearly just the black dude with a ton of junk slapped onto him. :-|
  4. TRIED to. Got a American Express Gift Card for birthday, only to find out hardly ANYBODY takes it. And I needed it to get a Paypal account. I dunno... I probably won't be able to for awhile... lots of "fun" things going on in real life right now. V__V
  5. If they have brains, the ends of the swords and launchers have axles where they fit the arm. If not, bleh.
  6. Yeah, but... we're only like talking 1 maybe 2 people lol. I dunno'. I know what you're trying to say, but when 4 different sets bought in a row have parts that turn white / CRACK when you simply do their intended function, snapping them together... do you not get the right to scream out loud that they blow? But like I said on their site, my data is from back in 2001. They may have changed since then.
  7. Look at this monster I came across on a non-Lego site.. WTF... how can one person create such awesomeness? http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/22386
  8. Poison beats lead poisoning? Wtf. Some of you guys don't even try. :-|
  9. I think you're being too touchy. They may not compare to EB or BZ, but there's neither the attempt to do so. When you want a community to grow, you give them more than 2 points to click their mouse on. I mean, I assume a forum is made to promote something you love that yuou want to share with others, so you also adorn it with other things of interest to not let things get obsessive or stale. That's where the term "crappy forum" probably came in. Of course I'm not sure how long it's been around, so it could just be the matter of they haven't made them yet... though the basic off-topic subjects aren't there... nor sub-categories for the different mb lines. :-| Those are just common sense things you put up at the creation point of a forum, imo. I don't DESPISE Megablocks, as the past few years they're coming into their own in NOT looking like Lego ripoffs in set packaging, decent sculpting, etc... And the NANO line is something Lego mecha builders need. Just think of ll the times you've been on Brickshelf, surfing kickass mecha designs in thumbnail, only to zoom in on them to find NASTY dogfaces made up of little more than 3 1x2 plates... most depressing. Nonsense. I think it went well. Noone went over there going "LOL, YOU IDIOTS LIKE MEGABLOX LOL!!!!1111". It was all pretty cordial and productive.
  10. Nope, this one: The axle hole goes all the way through now. *sweet* You were talkin' the ankles and wrists, right?
  11. Jinzo, that MOC is awesome. What joints hold that guy up? Does he truly support his own weight in all different poses? The shoulders are click joints like the metallic blue ones that debuted in the Super Battle Droid. The elbows are Throwbot arms. The waist turns with another click joint. The pelvic and knee joints are... are uh... these guys: http://peeron.com/inv/parts/47300 And possibly the most important of all, the ankles are that brand new ball joint that has the axle hole all the way through. I pretty much built this guy last year, but he was annoying to keep in a standing pose... UNTIL the new balls this year. Now, with a strong enough housing that doesn't separate around them, you can make mad tall mocs. Yah, he poses. And he doesn't fall over... even when I have him holding his heavyass gun woth both hands, connected to his chest: http://www.maj.com/gallery/JINZONINGEN73/J...US/image003.jpg http://www.maj.com/gallery/JINZONINGEN73/J...US/image001.jpg The thing that makes his ankles not give out is the foot resting on a strong housing. The thing that lets me pose him in a hunched over position (not shown) is that the upper knee can rest on a strong lower leg. He's pretty much complete, but unlike any other moc I ever made, I tweak him CONSTANTLY. I'll save him for some giant contest or something. Lord knows his appearance will be a little different next time i take pics... which I've (serious) done through about 20 different revisions. Here's his nasty first version lol: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1364514 ... ...what's this topic about again? :-D
  12. Posted. lol http://bloks.hyperboards.com/index.php?act...st_id=2049#2049
  13. Megablocks fall in somewhere between Playmobil and Lego. Dirty little secret? I bought myself a tall MB robot set back in like 2001. It was frustrating, in the same exact way the large Knights Kingdom figures are. On top of that, the bastards did NOT want to stay together. Blech blech blech. MBs have come into their own in recent years, but not enough for me. Hopefully they serve a purpose as a "gateway drug" into Lego. Lord forbid they ever achieve a quality of plastic and manufacturing process on par with Lego... it'd be a war.
  14. Next: Topps
  15. Not today, skipper.
  16. ^^^ As much as I like the guy, alot of his do the same thing this one does. Too many shooty offy things, not enough posability. The color schemes he uses are great though. And his available parts arsenal... my god. X-O His stuff definitely gives your eyes something to do for a few minutes.
  17. I could listen to that blue opera alien chick's music in the Fifth Element for hours. As long as she didn't get stuck in opera mode too long. ...or get killed. :-|
  18. One ray of hope... he has a scriptwriter on his site occasionally answering fan questions. According to him, the initial script leaked has had many changes... and is still being written now. I'm going to dl this first. If I like it, I'll go see the movie... TWICE. X-D If it blows, I only wasted a few hours of my life. We'll see, we'll see...
  19. Now you're just bein' silly. That thing is tall. It's tricky to do that in Technic. And to do it in System, it'd end up looking like a tall, square tower... right before the arms disconnected and came crashing to the ground. :-D A novice built that... could a novice in System have built that high? Technic lets you build high. With a bit of System, that moc would be way better. Still, just as I cringe at the super detailed, but ugly-up-close Gundam models Systemers build, this Bionicle one has the crap's-sticking-out-everywhere fallacy. With better proportions, a lil' system & smoother lines... this'd be much better. ... ...man, I'm all over the place, aren't I? :-|
  20. ^^^ He has the right idea, somewhat lol. Check for old stuff from Throwbots / Slizers lines, even Roboriders. The gearboxes and engine blocks are mocing gold. If you're talking new sets... hmm. System. System brick sets. Something with a decent amount of black in it, like a Batman set perhaps. I say that because you have Nuparu... get rid of his entire torso and build him one that's a hybrid of Technic and System. It might seem tricky to do at first, but once you get it, it's far more rewarding than what just more Bionicle Technic sets could do for it. And welcome to the world of posable Lego mocs. *sweet*
  21. I've come to realize even I don't like Bionicle, but that's not as it sounds. I think Bionicle is an INCREDIBLE Lego line that I hope doesn't exit for a few years... but only because it's a great source of parts to enhance system. If Bionicle went away and only Technic was left, it'd be a bunch of beams and axles, rarely touching on posable joints. Bionicle as action figures DEMAND that a hefty supply of joints enter the Lego building community every year. And that remedies the problem that always stopped me from getting into both System and Lego itself... free movement. Bionicle = the ability for bricky ol' Lego to enter into action figure territory.
  22. i think it is less the company and more the material. plastics are non-biodegradable and can last for 10,000 years or more. they will definitely outlast civilization. maybe after ww4 and all of life is wiped out by the fighting, one day aliens will come to our planet and wonder how the many lego pieces evolved... wacko.gif hmpf.gif Well it is the company. Nearly all toys are made of plastic. But Lego might be the only company who goes all out in quality. Nearly EVERY action figure I've ever owned that was white has turned yellow. Some really fast, too. Pretty disheartening stuff... almost like toys are intentionally made to have to be replaced. So you're right that it's the materials, but it's only because of the company.
  23. The name will probably end up all spacey and made up, like Blasterators or something. :-D
