laugh_new.gif laugh_new.gif laugh_new.gif id love to see that... no, seriously. But if they did that, there might be renewed interest in their products. And if that happens, good lord, they might make some good money. *GASP!* ::faints:: -

I agree, saying that as an American... and more or less a conservative one. But religion isn't the answer, it's the problem. It's the problem in the middle east that has bled over into the rest of the world, and it's the problem that rallies people in America under a false umbrella of divine justification. Religion will destroy this world. I do have some glimmers of hope for mankind though. If we can get our megablocks into space fast enough, a global weapons disaster will blow, but won't mean our total end. And look at the technology we have now. All fit for our doom, yes, but it can be used in other ways, to speed up our evolution. We're heading fast for a time when our organic bodies won't be everything. In 20 years (less?), we're going to be able to dl entire realms of knowledge through our cortex. Our dreams and memories stored on holographic crystals. Our bodies more or less replaced with nanite restructuring. Hell, women don't even need men anymore to reproduce, thanks to artificial sperm. We're on the verge of TRUE science fiction. I think all this silly crap going on in the world now are the death rattles of religion, getting shaken off every day by new breakthroughs that make our current world look like a cave with animal etchings on the walls. Religion. Just say no.

Shifty and other imitations
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Captain Roger's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For the most part, the sets seem to be total Lego clones... but there are some parts that look custom... Don't remember seeing helmets, guns like that... or the piece on the front of the car: -
I'm guessing "no", but does the cockpit accomodate a Technic fig? Have to agree on the underside... it looks WAY unfinished as to how it's really supposed to look under there. Oooooooh, THAT'S where my bin got those parts... Before I "got into" buying Lego, the Goodwill store near me had that Interceptor... box was slightly damaged, but it was complete. And a mere $15. X-D I miss that Goodwill store... wish I never moved out into the middle of nowhere. >__<

Shifty and other imitations

I've seen others, but this is the only one still on my hard drive: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/JINZONIN...rs/bootlego.jpg -
Nope. Dreamworks has had trailers and dvd extra references to Flushed Away for quite awhile now, since Curse of the Were-Rabbit came out. It's a fact of life... Disney is a ripoff company. With the exception of Dreamworks releasing "Fish Tales" shortly after "Finding Nemo"... 1998: Dreamworks Antz 1998 (later): Disney A Bug's Life 2000: Dreamworks Road to El Dorado 2001: Disney Emperor's New Groove 2005: Dreamworks Madagascar 2006: Disney The Wild http://www.nohomers.net/showthread.php?t=51866 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wild This would not be the first time for Disney and Dreamworks that two films with a similar theme were released in close proximity. In the fall of 1998, Dreamworks released its talking bug film "Antz" mere weeks before Disney/Pixar released "A Bug's Life". If you're thinking about watching this because of the "good reviews", think about how funny it is that many of the good reviews are all from Canada (where the film was made) or LA(the distributor). Almost like the people who made it and their friends are here talking it up so they can keep their jobs. Fortunately its a big flop, and even their ballot-stuffing won't make a difference. Shame on you! And much much more. It's like how they ripped of Miyazaki works, only to be found out, (followed by them then BUYING Miyazaki stuff for release in America... a payoff?) They still deny everything, of course. I mean hell, they got in (mild) trouble for shredding documents that stated the family of Winnie the Pooh's creator was in fact THEIR property, not Disney's. Unfortunately, the defendants used evidence which was STOLEN from Disney's garbage bins, ruining their case despite the fact Disney was shredding them anyway. http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/articleViewer.php?aid=172 Probably would've gone through if they'd not done that. Kimba, The White Lion becomes... (Simba), The Lion King http://www.kimbawlion.com/rant2.htm Fact: During production of The Lion King, Disney's promotional people were talking in terms of "the remake of Kimba The White Lion that we're doing". Fact: Matthew Broderick stated that he understood he was being hired as a voice actor for a remake of Kimba The White Lion. Fact: In early production stages, Simba was white And "Atlantis": http://www.oldcrows.net/Atlantis/ Anyway... yeah... Disney blows. And gets away with it, legally and financially. >__<

Dammit, now I'm going to have to keep him in favorites, buying anything he puts up just so I can leave the feedback, "OH MY GOOOOOOOOD! THANK YOU! ::scrape scrape scrape::" http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...P:feedback:2:us

McDonalds Bionicle Toy Promotion Photo Review
JINZONINGEN73 replied to vahkimetru's topic in LEGO Action Figures
My wife didn't want to wait in the line at Subway's, since it stretched halfway into the store. >__< Oh well, it was good having McDonalds again. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/JINZONIN...s_hahli_004.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/JINZONIN...s_hahli_001.jpg The rubber used for the limbs feel uncomfortably "oily". Like if you left it up against a bunch of plastic toys in a box for awhile, it'd eventually have a chemical reaction with it... that kind of material. It's sticky-feelin'. *sad* -
^^^Keeee-ripes! Was that vomit, or his teeth? >__< As far as I remember, the N64 kid grew up, and eventually sold his system on eBay... but I'm too lazy to go googling the story. : p Anyway, http://lexluthornintendo64.ytmnd.com/ Someone on In_the_Bricks posted it. Just your regular drunken moron doing flaming shooters. And having it reignite when you breathe out. >__<

X D I'm pretty sure it was fake, like a humorous commentary on the addiction to Online RPGs and whatnot. Great stuff though. I cracked up when he's like "Ok, the H key is now the O key"... and the keyboard's got buttons all popped off and crap lol. This (old) video's right up there too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpJyG7B6tAI...related&search= To say nothing of it's parody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4fL5YxP6g4

I've seen this with computers and many other high-priced items. The Chinese have TOTALLY ruined eBay. On any given night, they swarm eBay with fake auctions from hacked accounts. Another great scam on eBay is after an auction ends, you get an email saying you have a "second chance" at the item. Needless to say the links lead to things already closed and whatnot... and you're supposed to paypal them outside of eBay. Another fun trick is having a bunch of OBVIOUSLY similar accounts all give an account great feedback, to jack up it's reliability ratio... right before they go on a fake auction spree. Yeah... I hope Google gets in on the auction circuit. I don't know HOW, but I'm confident they have their crap together enough to accomplish the security that eBay can't.

Oh... oh... I thought so. Dave has "actor hand". Actor hand is the act of someone pretending to fire a gun, but zipping their weapon forward and backward... a clear indication they've never shot a gun in their life lol. Still, that was too short. I want more. :-D

This topic can't be "won". It's wrong, for many reasons. What comes to mind first is that information gained through torture is bound to be shitty. Reminds me of the classic representations of Salem witch hunts. "Are you a witch?" "No." "Wrong answer, smack her in the face." *SMACK* "Ok, are you a witch?" "No." "You sure? Poke out her eyes!" "OK OK, GEEZ. I'm a witch!" "You are? Burn her at the stake!" "Wh-wha? I mean no, no, I'm not!" "But you already said you did! HA! Burn her!" The second (obvious) thing that comes to mind, I understand the disgust towards the religious wackos, running around doing suicide bombings and all that jazz... but if you (justifiably, perhaps) hold them in a regard as if they were barbaric cavemen in the wrong era of earth's history... you're NOT going to be helping their mental evolution along by being just like them. I hate cartoons where the good guys always pass up a perfect opportunity to OBLITERATE their enemies, on the grounds "that we'll be no better than they are". But really, it does apply. Allowing torture is just adding ammunition to the enemy's justification for their acts. The worst thing about all this perhaps is that, to me anyway, this all appears just to be a cheap way of exonerating morons in the chain of command... AFTER they've already done terrible things. University? Industrial design? Oh dude, you HAVE to get that place rolling with a Lego-buying project, to "test" aesthetic designs quickly and easily.

Which I feel I "won", as discussion came to a screeching halt. lol X-D

Moko is, without a doubt, EASILY in my top 3 favorite Brickshelf artists. Even if you only build Technic, even if you only like a specific theme, one does themself a dis-service to not sit in Moko's galleries and study each one. He's a freakin' ninja, that guy.
