  1. Hi guys, back from the dead, and I see you worked on some really nice additions for bluebrick. I can't wait to start using it again, and adding some gifs to it.
  2. That is really an awesome track layout Thomas. It would be really nice if you could shows us some real pics from it. At least, if it exist in reality ofcourse.
  3. I wanted to MOC my own train for a while now, and finally I started on it. This is the reference I used (Borrowed from railfaneurope.net) I decided to go for a 8-wide train. Now that it is finished I know that I will break it down and try to create it in 6-wide. The 8-wide is much to big and out of proportion for my layout. Nevertheless, I finished it in 8 wide. Only thing not on there are the logo stickers. - It is motorised via 2 pf M motors - The middle axle of the bogies can slide - there is space between the train and the bogie, in such a way that the train can take some climbs and downhills Click photo for more views! Click photo for more views! These photos are taken in the appropriate background for christmas of course
  4. A very nice build I must say. Again proof that 6wide trains can look very good I must say that you can give it a try to make it 4-6 studs longer.
  5. Nice MOC. A neat and clean build. To me it looks a bit like a propane tank, which we used to have at our house. For a tank car, I think it would be nicer if it was 6 wide. Now the chassis looks real big compared to the tank itself. However, the build itself with all the details is great
  6. Great wintersetup. I love the winter details, and also the inside of the train station. I am not a fan of the EN but it fits perfectly in here. Well done
  7. Congrats! Yes you can use the flex track together with this train. Also an RC motor fits inside. I build mine in the passenger wagon. PF motor will also fit, but is much more expensive.
  8. I totally missed that article on page 63-65. I was confusing it with something else. How the .... could I have missed this mmmm, I will give it a shot, until now my constructions are a bit unstable, but I am learning fast
  9. Thanks, I did see your pictures on flickr. I am still puzzled how you fixated that center part, the black color prevents met to see it in detail. Do you have any other detailed pics ? Also the article on the o-rings I saw, however I am still searching in the Netherlands to find them :( I saw this one, creating the 3-axle bogie is not an issue, but taking corners is :( and thats why I am trying to build one like I mentioned above I tried gearing it, but for testing prurposes I attached it directly for the moment. Do you have an example on what gears you used and how you created your construction ? Thanks a lot sofar for the help.
  10. Nicely done The white line and also the new shape of the boiler are so much better. The extra detailing make it look completely different. Well done
  11. Coming out of my dark ages was step 1, buying sets step 2, Moccing new trains step 3. So that is where I am right now, trying out some ideas for a new train that I have thought of. Which one is still a bit of a secret, but for sure it will have 2 bogies with eacht 3 axles and it will be motorised using PF. Biggest problem in using 3 axle is taking the corners on a track. Scanning flickr I saw some thoughts that I used to create my own version. The idea is that the left and right axle are powered, and the middle one is able to move a bit sideways so that taking corners becomes easier. First some pictures. The whole bogie in one piece, the mid axle can slide. Mid part taken off to show the construction. Biggest problem of this construction is the stability, the axles have to much space to move, and because the middle part is not attached the whole bogie is bending and sometimes even breaks in 2 parts because of the force of the pf. I am looking for other ideas or tips and tricks how to make my construction better, I am open for all kind of ideas Please reply with your thoughts on this. ps. something different, the bogie has traction problems, while on full speed it has a hard time to come around a small oval test track. The bogies is palced underneath a 24 wide train base, an xl engine on top, and the battery set in de middle.
  12. I was afraid for this poll, but luckily I could choose both My track is absolutely elevated, because it gives me a chance to build in some play area on a different level. I could no do without it.
  13. I guess you need to extend the station quite a bit .... times 3 I guess LOL But the Emerald would look really great next to a train station.
  14. Cool theme brickster. The colorscheme that you used makes it real Next time on the station I will look back if I see that green ghost
  15. Nice train The boiler looks great, it is that these type of trains are not my style, otherwise it would definitely give some inspiration. Btw, on your flickr I see that you are trying to motorise it using PF, did you manage that allready ?
  16. If it still is available, and you definitely do not want a motorised set, the Holiday train (10173) is a very nice set. It comes with some wagons, a lot of minifigures and extra items. It is really a nice set, also for playability (and especially with christmas coming
  17. Nice article. Good to give an overview of all those nice sets. I voted for bridge, in a lot of ways i am interested how Lego would design a bridge, and also if they would dare to use a height difference
  18. As said before, the tilted design looks really great. What I like about the design is that the train can run freely while it does not mather if is 6 wide or 10 wide
  19. This is indeed a very good site I have used that before, I must say that I have done it a bit diferent now. Most important is the first climb, which is less steep then the above example. (where p = plate and b = brick) 1p, 2p, 1b, 5p, 7p, 9p, 4b, 5b etcetra. After the first 3 bricks, I go up with 1 brick per rail. I must say that I use RC powered trains, and they both have 2 engines. 1 engine is enough to make the climb, but once you stop the train, it will get of its spot any more, you definitely need 2 motors for that if you place the train on a climb. I found out btw that I only have pictures of the WIP, not of the end result (which is broken down again) EDIT: Oversized image removed by Moderator. You can find it here.
  20. Wow missouri, if this is what you can produce when you are busy ...... then I am scared what you can do when you have some time off Nicely done on those gifs Mid november for a new release is pretty fast, I have to think what I can create before that
  21. Cool This shows everybody can build train MOCs, even if you have a limited amount of pieces (especially train pieces) Interesting (and very creepy) story, brrrrr
  22. very very cool video I really like your idea about turning the entire MOC and leaving the train fixed to its base. Nicely done.
  23. Very nice MOD, when I first saw the 10199 I did not see the integration in my layout yet, but seeing this mod I see the great possibilities. Very nicely done
  24. He that looks really good, nice to say how you worked out the SNOT and explained the building techniques. A small point of criticism is the line from the front steering capartment to the passengers part. Because you reused the bic white panels, it doesnt fit nicely, maybe you could think of other solutions. I don't know any, except maybe not using the big white rood panels. The coupling btw is very nice, simple but so effective
  25. I would say the chief. It's huge design makes it a really nice train. The bnsf is a bit ordinary, however, it is a much more practical train in my layout.
