  1. +1 for fred67 Thanks for the trade!
  2. Okay...I updated my listing with some Series 7 minifigs...and if it will help me get what I want, I may add a Wolverine figure to my list as well. My listing!
  3. This will sound weird but I'm glad the summer City sets aren't anything to write home about because I already know I'm buying the entire line of LOTR and Monster Fighters (Probably in one giant shopping spree) when they drop and my budget can't handle more than that...=p The big mine set looks kinda cool though, I may have to get that down the line.
  4. + for Cornelius Murdock Thanks for the trade!
  5. My list! Added a couple more figures from Series 5.
  6. My list...again! Updated with some more Series 6 (Minotaur/Genie/Bandit/Highland Warrior/Genie)
  7. Man if you do not end up selling that Sail n Fly Marina and I can sell this big Technic set, I am sooo tempted.
  8. Interested in some of those Series 6 minifigs. If you're interested, I have a few Technic sets.
  9. My store (Denver/Lakewood) had some 1x2 log style pieces in brown and dark bley. I got some of the dark bley and filled an entire cup with the brown. Obviously both pieces are no longer there...alas.
  10. My list! Updated my list with some Series 6.
  11. I did the feeling method and came out with three Opera singers....opps! I think my feeling techniques aren't very good. I did get a genie and a robber so that's good I suppose!
  12. Cosign on the taking of photos being the most time consuming part. It can almost take 10 shots just to get one right. Love how well the photos came out, these are some pretty colorful sets! I agree about the boombox but perhaps its one of those ones that lets you plug in a MP3 player (No that's not really a great excuse)? Love the little comic at the end!
  13. For 60 bucks, I got off Craigslist (one ad) 8448 Super Street Sensation Supercar Dune Buggy No instructions for them but they're all complete. The Super Street Sensation is a pretty cool Technic car. Bought it to flip so I could buy more Lego but the temptation to keep it is strong. Very strong indeed. If I don't sell it for the price I want, I'm perfectly fine with keeping it.
  14. Oh dear, we already got the black diva...=D I kind of like the design of the set, the piano looks decent and the stage isn't half bad but is it just me or is that boxart not very flattering to the character? The Andrea figure sure looks a lot better than how she appears on the box...=(
  15. lol, man do these sets have quite a few useful pieces. Nice job on the review, I appreciate the shot with all the pieces, gives you an idea how well they seem to pack these sets with handy pieces. I also love how quickly this theme is getting reviewed, lol!
  16. My list! Updated with some minifigs I have and random wants.
  17. So after seeing the Tintin movie (fun movie by the way but I'm a big Tintin fan anways) and seeing that great fight between...*silenced for trying to spoil*...I think I'd like to get a pirate ship. I have about 87 in my paypal account and about 18 ebay bucks...not sure if that will be enough to get a ship though. If not, maybe I'll go with a couple things off my Bricklink wanted list (Too long to post here)
  18. Well since I've done maybe close to 10 reviews already (Maybe), I might as well join and learn how to improve.
  19. Ha, just buy them. They seemed pretty happy that the sets are selling pretty well already! At least this is what I've heard from the employees at my store.
  20. So continuing the theme of classic set reviews, I decided to go with another old favorite, the Rebel Roadster from 1994. This set was one of my absolute favorite as a kid, loving its slick design and how cool it look compared to the other boring cars. I was lucky enough awhile back to find a CIB one off ebay for a decent price so I can happily say I owned both as originals, straight out the box... Number: 6538 Name: Rebel Roadster Theme: Town Year: 1994 Minifigs: 1 Pieces: 57 Price: 4.50 USD No box but here we got a shot of the booklet and a random page from it! Actually it's a single piece of paper, folded in countless ways so it's a pretty simple build. I can pretty much complete it off of memory... And your standard photo of the pieces! Not a huge amount of variety, nothing real special really. I think the black curved piece was new to 94...maybe? Oh wait, nope! Silly me! The minifig, with his swanky leather getup. The face was new to the 1994 model year and get used to it because you'll see it a LOT in this year and the following ones. Lego was so excited to add a new face that they just had to make sure you knew about it! Or maybe...it's the same guy...!! And here we go with the build...nothing real complicated but then again these sets were pretty basic compared to what we have now! The red is bright but it is a bit subdued a bit later. And we continue. Now you begin to see the makings of the roof and the windshield. Oh and I didn't show it but this bad boy does have a bit of a tilt to it...not a lowrider but it could be with a few mods... The complete model...with swag! Ummm er...here it is in it's sleek glory. It really is a pretty sweet little model. You can pop the sun roof for some added wind or just for the cool factor. I really think a darker tint would fit in better but eh. What Lego car is complete without multiple angles?? Not much trunk but it is what it is. This is where the obligatory add a Friends' fig in would go but I don't feel like opening up that set yet and I don't think Dirk (Yes, that's his name) would care much for that much drag on the back! A comparison shot with the new roadster from the Robber's Hideout set I bought today. (Maybe I should do a review for it? Or maybe let someone else do it?). Both are pretty slick and with the new piece (I think) from the new roadster, It would be kinda cool to remake this bad boy. Maybe... Remember in my past review where I lamented about the cop getting stuck chasing a SUV with an ATV? Well it looks like it's the revenge of the cops! Bunch of party poopers they are... Design: 10/10 This is a nice change up from the usual boring vehicle designs Lego had. I thought this was the year when they began to start to make some decent cars...or at least make an effort. I'm biased though since this model year is the one I remember fondly. Parts: 9/10 Not much but it's a decent selection. Lego cars back then weren't known for a huge variety of parts. Figures: 10/10 He's a nicely designed minifig and it fits in with the vehicle. Build: 9/10 Simple build but it's kind of fun. Yea...that's all I got. Price: 10/10 Imagine what this would cost now. Ten at least! 4.50 for this little bad boy was a steal! Good luck finding it that cheap now! Overall: 10/10 I think it's one of the best Lego cars designed...and it's design still holds up pretty well. Plus the price point was pretty on point and I think you have one of the best value sets around.
  21. At the Targets I've been to, they've stuck the Friends sets over by where all the girl toys traditionally are...a few aisles away from the other Lego sets. Was kind of hoping they would get grouped in with the other Lego but I can kind of see their reasoning.
  22. So I was gonna do another review of an older city set but I decided to take a break from that and do a new set. I actually bought 3 of the Forest Police sets a couple weeks back but figured people had already done reviews for them...lo and behold that wasn't the case and I'm here to help fix that! Number: 4437 Name: Police Pursuit Theme: City Year: 2012 Minifigs: 2 Pieces: 129 Price: 17.99 USD No box since I bought this set a couple weeks back...but I got instructions! Here's your random instruction booklet shot, details kind of how the trunk is put together. A shot of all the pieces, not a huge variety in colors but the dark red...brownish red pieces are an interesting choice of color but it fits in with the forest theme. Includes the standard blue and white for police cars...and some money and a gold bar! A shot of the two minifigures. My camera doesn't really do it justice but the cop has a new print which seems standard with the forest police sets. The criminal has a standard striped tank top. Kinda wish they had went with something else, like a flannel shirt print or something foresty. And now we start with the police buggy. It's a pretty simple build but it's still a nice little buggy but...okay, we'll leave that topic for later. And here is a shot of the complete buggy with the cop. Okay this is a pretty puny cart. I'm sure the department can afford to get these guys a real vehicle. Just how puny is it? We shall see! Part of the build. The white hinge bricks are were you attach the trunk which can be opened where you can store the crowbar, the gold, money, bodies, bags of drugs...maybe one of the Friends minifigs...okay maybe not on that last one but I know what you people are thinking! And we continue with the build. The brownish red is kinda growing on me but is it wrong that I kinda wish the bricks had some kind of prints or stickers to give it a dirty look to it? Yes, I think I have learned to stop worrying and love the DSS! The completed truck. Minor whining aside, it's a pretty nice looking truck. It's big, mean looking and quite in charge. Just the kind of truck for a criminal to be driving...sure is pretty nice though! How does he afford it? The completed set. As shown, the trunk opens so the robber can store his tools of the trade and the fruits of his twisted labor. The poor cop is stuck in the little ATV, hoping that the robber gets a flat tire or something that will help him get a leg up... Darn! That poor cop is really not traveling in style! The criminal could crush that poor buggy without a second thought! Now who could the cop call in to get some help? Who... Oh snaps! To be continued? Playability: 8/10 It's a pair of vehicles but I like the truck. It has a nice design and it kind of is begging to be made into a SUV similar to a Bronco or a Blazer. Kind of wish there were more accessories though... Design: 9/10 It's a truck and an ATV...but both are designed pretty well. Would have loved to have the truck look a bit more rough though. Has this thing been even taken offroad? Price: 7/10 Not bad of a price point...I could see it being a bit cheaper but I'm an admitted cheapskate so don't mind me! Overall 8/10 Get's nicked for not having many accessories and the department sticking this poor sap with a toy to chase a truck but hey, it's got a nice little design for an ATV and the truck is pretty cool looking. I love the inclusion of the dollar AND the gold bar. Those are always nice to have! I'm not satisfied with some of these photos...I'll try to fix that soon.
  23. lol Hinkley and Silent Mode's reviews have opened the gates...now everyone wants these sets ASAP. Nice review by the way. I already thought this was a great designed car and the pics have confirmed it. I also would have liked a photo or two of the build but since I'll be buying the set tomorrow anyways, no biggie! This car is so much better than the City ones, lol!
  24. Not sure what to offer for that Raft Raiders set...but I'm interested. Price?
  25. Opps...I forgot those other racecars were released the following year. For some reason I sometimes get 95 and 96 mixed up as far as releases are concerned. Hilarious since 94-96 were when I was huge into Lego. Also wow at the price of the motor, hopefully I'll be good with just buying the plastic pieces that go on the top and bottom, I'm not paying that much for a motor! If people don't mind, I might try to do a couple more reviews of some older town sets.
