Yea I'll work on getting clearer shots and a less distracting background, lol. I got another small space set I want to review so we'll give it another go soon! I didn't know that brown cape was exclusive to this set! Thanks for letting me know, I may have to bump up the review a little haha.

Wow, that is a pretty imaginative set. Really love the look of it and all. I know which set I want to save up for this holiday season, haha! Thanks for the pictures.

In my attempts to create my own custom Lego buildings, I came to realize that spaceships are what I excel at. It also means I have a few themes mixed up together and they must be sorted out as complete sets so yea. That and I'm bored so lets give it a go. I also got quite a few (Read: a lot) of old sets (Not many castle mind you) that don't seem to have been reviewed so you may see more of these. Reference: 6040 Theme: Legoland Castle (I think. I'm going off of Peeron) Name: Blacksmith Shop Year : 1984 Pieces :89 Minifig: 2 MSRP: 9.25 (Dunno the currency) Here is the box, front and back (Sorry for the glare. Will try to remember to get better shots) I can't believe I still have the box... Next a shot of the instructions! It also includes instructions for an alternate model. For some reason it keeps coming out blurry...blah. A few shots of the build... Not a very big set but I love the colors! And now for the final build... front and back. *insert hilarious image here when I get the time* Minifigs: 8/10. Not all that original in the way of figures but they're simple and to the point. Do like the look of the ol' blacksmith. Parts: 8/10. You get about 3 nice wall pieces, including a printed one and a few building bricks as well. Not bad for a cheap set (Back then! lol) Playability: 7/10. Well there isn't much functionality out of it. It's a blacksmith's shop, all work no play! Price: 8/10. Back then the price was more than fair I think, especially for what you get. Just don't expect to find the set for that cheap now! Overall: 8/10. It's a nice good set. I love the selection of pieces, especially the printed castle wall, those usually come in the larger sets. It's small so there isn't a lot to see here but what is there, is nice indeedy.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
tiggerkiddo replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well it seems a tad bit more interesting that the Rock Raiders HQ (I think that's what it's called...hehe) but I probably won't get it since it seems a bit high. Like the design. The other new PM set, I would really love to own. I think it looks the best out of all the power miner vehicles. -
So even though they haven't made a monorail set in 14 years (Give or take) they still might have the molds? Yea, I'm aware that this video doesn't mean we'll get a monorail but just curious...

Congrats to the winners! I'll have to try harder next time since you all are so talented!

With the picture of it next to the other ones, it looks kind of out of place. I guess it's because the others have a European design and the fire house looks distinctly American. Not that I mind...it does look nice and I love that old fashioned fire truck. I might buy (Depends on the price) ...if they wanted to go with something with an American look...why not a classic diner?

Build your own minifig? Really? I don't recall in my many visits to the Lego store in Colorado ever seeing that. I guess we lucked out. Or maybe I missed it or something...>>

Whoops, sorry about that. Okay I did dust this thing off with a soft, wet toothbrush and while it isn't dusty, in the photos it still looks dusty, crumb.

Nice review. The lack of doors is an issue and I almost would have liked a few stickers (Or printed pieces. Yea I know) like for the license plate or even an emblem since it seems kind of barren. Red is nice, another color wouldn't have hurt but I still love this set. Seems like it may cost a bit more than it should but then again, this is Lego sadly. I'll still buy it.

Thanks for the review! I like the look of the German plane and sometimes wish Lego could produce more planes like it (Red Baron set anyone?) but don't care much for the second one. If it was just the German plane alone, I might buy but I dunno.

You are right, haha. I missed that one part of the instructions. I probably would have never noticed it since the part didn't seem all that necessary, imo. And this was already reviewed? Did I miss the review in my search??

INDEXED Okay up for review is the new 2009 Tow Truck. As far as I know, no one has reviewed this so I decided to give it a shot. I wasn't actually expecting to find this but found plenty of Summer 2009 sets at my local Lego store in Lakewood, but decided to go with this as the Space Police sets that were there, weren't very appealing...yet. Set Name- Tow Truck Theme- City Year of Release- 2009 Pieces- 129 Minifigs- 1 Price- 12.99 (USD) This is the shot of the front of the box, forgive the low quality, lol. The back of the box which makes this thing look bigger than it actually is, haha. Mainly shows its functions A shot of the instruction booklet. That silly sticker sheet, quite small though. I forgot a customary shot of the sap driving this brightly colored truck so I'll try to add that in later, haha. This is part of the build for the truck. As you can see, it's a bit sturdy. It is also really colorful, I knew it would be orange but it stands out! And for the final build... As you can see, it's not a huge truck at all but it's nice and sturdy. The orange bricks take a wee bit getting used to (Maybe it's because I don't own any) but it fits in well as a sturdy tow truck. The wench looks strong but don't bet the farm on it yet. I just didn't have any Lego cars put together to put it to the test...if it can haul the Magnet Core Magnetizer (Or whatever that huge M-tron vehicle I have is called) then we'll be good! The leftover pieces. Opinion: Well it's a nice little tow truck. It's a bit bigger (Okay a lot) than the ones I've had in the past but it is what it is, a tow truck. I might have preferred a different color (Like red) but the orange is growing on me. I think the price is fair, I wouldn't have paid 20 for this set though.

I'm gonna try my local TRU tomorrow and hope for the best. And I'm glad to know I wasn't going crazy in thinking that TRU's prices seemed a bit higher, even higher than the Lego Outlet store here...ugh.

Yep, it needs some dusting, haha. I got a soft toothbrush nearby to take care of that. Thanks for the comments!

Work in progress but soon should have more pics (Before I take it apart and resort the pieces to the correct sets). I restricted myself to my 3 Blacktron 1 sets (And a couple pieces from my Space Police 1 ship, the big one) so it's a bit limited but oh well. But yep, a Blacktron Snowspeeder. More Info! Name: Blacktron Snowspeeder Rips off: Snowspeeder obviously Piece Count: 210-230 or so (Includes a small radar station) Story: Having escaped the Space Police wrath's after their failed attempt at stealing Ice Planet equipment, the captain of the Blacktron fleet decided that they'd need a better ship. Hearing of the Rebel's infamous snowspeeders, they stole the plans for them and built a couple of their own. Whether they were successful of not is still up in the air but the fact that they chose all black for an environment which was mostly white probably didn't help matters. Top view: Back view (Not much here folks): Right view: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c214/tornadot/DSCF1230.jpg Left view (Or was this right and the other left?): Engine power!: Rear pilot (Pretty cramped): Radar station: Interior of said station:

Best Themes: Ice Planet Forestmen Islanders (Underrated theme IMO. Lego could have expanded on this more) Worst Themes: Town Jr. (Pretty much drove me into the dark ages) Bionicle Knights Kingdom 2

Name is tiggerkiddo, a 22 year old Lego fan from the Mile High City (Denver, Colorado for those not in the know). I am a longtime lurker on this site but decided to finally register. While I'm not in school right now, I was going for a bachelor's degree in meteorology, though I may change because I hate math with a passion. Other than that, my main hobbies are writing, reading, driving around, playing video games...etc. If I even started to talk about my writing, I'd go on for days so let's skip that! Like I also said, I am a Lego fan. I'm more of a collector and not much of a builder. I have ideas but rarely have the time and patience to do so. Well that and money, haha. Though I am mostly a collector, I almost always have to have one set assembled and sat somewhere. The rest are meticulously sorted in plastic bags by set (I'm that much of a freak about it). My favorite themes in general are Space, City and then probably Castle. Tough to say on the last one. If we were to get real specific, I generally love anything Ice Planet, Spyrius and Forestmen. So yep, that's it from me!
