Seeing all of the amazing photos of Minifigures taken by Smokebelch (I urge you to look at them here), I was inspired to go snap some of my own. The lighting and overall composure of the shots is not nearly as good as his, but I thought I'd give it a go. This scene is entitled: Lost Troopers Two troopers seem to be separated from their squad on a jungle planet, and they don't even have blasters! And from above: How do you like my first attempt? (If I take nay more, I'll just make a new post in this thread) And again, all the credit of inspiration goes to Smokebelch! Check out his pictures if you have not already!

Thanks for featuring me in your nice moc! I have to say, I'm quite flattered to have been given such a big gun, and it looks like my eyes have magically changed their line of vision! All around very nice, and I do like the clear pieces you used to represent the poppers.

The TRU in Times Square has, in the past, had some exclusive sets that are not usually found in stores. For example, several years ago they had the Statue of Liberty and the LEGO Minifigure sculpture sets (if you remember those). It is a good possibility that they might have things not usually found in regular stores. I have also seen some interesting sets not usually found in stores at FAO Schwartz, but you never really know what you'll find there. But there is still a good chance you may find something "odd" there. You're never guaranteed to find something unusual at either the large TRU or the FAO Schwartz, but it is worth going to both to find out. Besides, there are no other places that really carry LEGO in the city anyway! (Except for a few odd children's stores, but they only ever have a couple sets)

Early pictures of 2009 summer sets
Clone OPatra replied to Kanal-K1's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think Kanal K-1 beat you on being the first! I am really liking both of those sets, especially all the figures in the Cairo set and the beautiful motorcycle in the cemetery. But I still find a few accessories odd, such as the man's large brown carrot in Cairo and the hacksaw in the cemetery. And, I notice that LEGO is really pushing the Temple of Doom set, by showing it on the back of both sets. EDIT: One more box art oddity I notice on the Indy sets is that they put the movie title ("Raiders of the Lost Ark", Kingdom of the Crystal Skull") above the picture. For example, Indy's whip is under the words. I just think that looks odd, and that having the picture above the words would have been better. -
The purpose of the truck being colorful was to show that the Spaceman Enthusiasts had painted it in all five Classic Spaceman colors. Perhaps this concept did not work out as well as I'd hoped, making the truck look messy rather than painted. I'll play with it, and see if I want to take a new picture. Thanks everyone for your very nice comments!

Hi all! This is my entry into the classic town contest: A special conference of Classic Spacemen! Let me mention all the details so you don't miss any. (All of the minifigures are displayed in my "characters" picture below.) In the bottom left of the scene there are five spaceman enthusiasts parking their truck. They have painted their truck in the five colors of the Spacemen, sloppily perhaps. They're just a little late; the conference has only just started. In the bottom right there is a couple, who both work at an Octan station, kissing in the park. The policeman in the middle of the road may be coming to tell them that love in the park is illegal. If you're wondering what that yellow square outside the Public Hall is, it's a sign for the conference, but I don't know how to print decals. Hey, LEGO is all about imagination anyway! Now, you've seen the outside of the building, but you don't even know that there is a conference besides for me saying so. The Hall comes apart via pins, to reveal... Finally, here are all 20 minifigures with character descriptions. (There are five Spaceman Enthusiasts, but the red guy is hidden.) Well, that's all for my Classic Town Contest entry, I hope you like it and I urge you to make any comments or suggestions. Brickshelf gallery, when moderated, is here, and you'll find many more detail shots within. Thanks again for reading!

Rediscover the bustling streets of Classic Town CONTEST
Clone OPatra replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
Although I've already created an entry that I am happy with (but have not yet posted the entry), I'd like to know if we are allowed to modify things on our entries up until the end date. Often minor tweaks just come to mind, or other members have some great suggestions. So, can we update entries, or is the very first picture posted what goes? -
Rediscover the bustling streets of Classic Town CONTEST

I read through all the rules several times, but I still figured I'd ask if this baseplate is acceptable. Can you confirm that it is acceptable for the contest? -
Cute, as always. To me, your cowboy looks a bit amish, what with the suspenders and beard around the chin. But then he's got a gun, so I can see why he is a cowboy instead! One question though, why did you make the MOC so tall? Is there anything inside all that sand?

Beautiful, as usual. Do you take requests? If so, could you try some shots with ewoks in trees? I bet you could make them look gorgeous.

I'm very curious. Take whatever picture you can at whatever quality you have, to at least satiate people until you can find a better picture. Don't worry about the quality beforehand, just take it!

Tearing open a huge fresh LEGO box and spilling out all the shin contents doesn't appeal to you? Hmmm... If I had the $ to buy this set it'd be built in a heartbeat. But I still love looking at everybody's great pictures of it!
-
Well, they are only empty in the sense that we cannot access them or upload files. Pictures that had already been uploaded are not gone, or they would not still show up in deeplinks. Also, I'm not sure fingers are being pointed, it just is bothersome when this happens and people like to unload their bothers. Just today I went to upload pictures to use in the PARTY contest in the SW forum, but then I couldn't (flickr was a quick fix, though). It's just a bit annoying.

I have never bought two of any one set. Personally, I don't care for displaying an army, so there is no need for me to have several of the same vehicle. I have multiples of the same minifigure, though, does that count?

I'm pretty sure the Chrome Darth Vaders will only be in sets that are new in 2009. The Death Star was produced and packaged before the promotion was around, so even if you buy a Death Star in 2009 you are buying a set that predates the promotion. Also, the Death Star is a LEGO Exclusive (at least in the U.S.), and I do not think promotions go in LEGO exclusives.

I purposefully left out any religious content from my entry, but yes. It's my idea of a party!
-
When I think of "party," I think of a bunch of men singing badly and dancing in a circle. I didn't know if this contest needs Star Wars related entries, but in any case there I am on the chair in the middle! Enjoy!

He didn't change it. Check this thread for the answer. I personally will not be getting the MSMF anyway, but maybe LEGO will surprise everyone and add a micro-size interior. It won't sell the set to me, but it'll make lots of other people happy, and I'll love seeing pictures of it. (What're the odds, though?)

Oh, sorry for the mixup. I've seen both movie versions, but I forgot that they came in pods in the original.
-
Looks nice, but it reminds me more of Men In Black than War of the Worlds. I thought the aliens came down in lightning in War of the Worlds. Still, nice small MOC.
-
That hard work really paid off though! You Slimer looks brilliant, I wouldn't have even guessed that it was homemade, it looks like a real toy!

Very nice transformation, and I especially like the detail of the Giant Troll standing ready to fire the catapult. One odd thing that caught my eye though, how do plants survive right next to lava? Not that it matters, after all, this is fantasy!
-
For a second there, I thought you had used the dreaded plural "legos," but then I reread it. I think the legs on your AT-ST are perfectly spindly, and look ready to trip on a whole bunch of logs! I can't see much room for improvement at all!

What Does Your April Fool Do For a Living CONTEST
Clone OPatra replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do you mean, do you have to have the official jester minifigure? If that is your question, then the answer is no. If the question is: do you have to have a jester in your scene? Then the answer is you have to have an April Fool, and show that it is an April Fool. But I guess an April Fool in this context really is just a jester, so you might as well just put a jester in your scene (or a minifigure in part of the jester outfit: the hat, the clothes, etc). -
Oh my, I guess this is why cell phone pictures should be limited to pictures of people. What I see is clearly Asajj dancing, next to her is Yoda with a body also dancing, and above her on the floor is an assassin droid, also dancing. I think you mistook the assassin droid to be a guitar, thought it was in Asajj's hands, and then thought Yoda had no body. It's really funny the tricks one's eyes can play! EDIT: Now I realize you might have been completely joking. If you were, disregard the rest of it, but sarcasm is very difficult to read.
