Self-Propelled Dewback Dew Drinks Dispenser
Clone OPatra replied to green dewback's topic in Watto's Junkyard
I would also like to say how great your MOC is! It's really just so funny and cute, and the style of everything thrown together on top makes it work really well with the backstory. If it had been unjumbled, it just wouldn't have looked authentic! Really great work all around. -
I think it looks really good, and doesn't need to be in minifig scale. Perhaps you could make two miniland size (am I saying that right?) figures to sit in it, and they would fit with the scale better. Then no one else will have questions about it being out of scale. By the way, what scale are you, the builder, going for?

Well, he did say it was slightly modified. I really like the guns, engines, and especially the torpedo launchers. Those look simply fantastic! The one thing I might suggest is changing the gray around the front cockpit to white to match the rest of the tank. That's the only thing I would change though, the rest is looking great!

Overall a nice MOC, but I would agree with others who have said there should be a little more cargo space. I really like the cockpit design, but the cargo area could use a little bit more protection or just be built up a brick more, so that the cargo can't fall out. I don't think it needs any guns. I see this as the standard Cargo Transport not belonging to anyone specifically, and if some traders got it they could add guns, but this doesn't need it (correct me if I'm wrong). Still, even without any changes it looks pretty good!

Very nice MOC! It looks really solid and weapon proof, and the blockiness works well for it. I think the engines look good, and I also think the small cockpit window is a nice style. I have one question though, if the top is glass, couldn't a bomb break into that really easily? Somehow I think that's not consistent with the rest of the armor. But really, it's very nice and well built! EDIT: I especially love the trans-blue cheese slope in the cockpit controls, it works really well!

I modeled it after the design of the Catamaran, but I don't actually own the set. I used a few pieces from the Wookiee Flyer (Ornithoprter?), but mostly just used pieces from my collection (a lot are from the 2007 Droid Bp). Thanks for all your comments guys!

What do you mean? Do you mean any other sets besides those at Toy Fair and the Pirate Tank and Mid-Scale MF? Those are all the confirmed sets currently awaited. I suppose eventually rumor lists for Jan 2010 will start coming, but it is too soon for that now.
-
I was actually going for the look of the Wookiee Catamaran released back in 2005, which also had holes of this style. I may try and see what it looks like without those holes showing though.

My entry for the contest, this small Wookiee Gunboat, never before seen anywhere! EDIT: All new, better pictures of the model, now with back holes gone! During battles on Kashyyk, the wookiees deployed these small lightly armed Wookiee Gunboats as defensive and offensive vehicles. The Wookiee Gunboat holds a maximum crew of three, has no storage space, and has very limited armor. It's main feature is a powerful double torpedo gun hidden under the front planks. It also features two light blasters on the side to defend against any droids. This vehicle can hover low above ground or water, and can easily take out a droid tank. Wookiee Gunboat Minifigures: 3 Pieces: 79 Aerial Front (planks closed) Front, with planks opened and guns revealed Side Right Side Left Back Check here when public for more pictures! Please comment and give any suggestions for improvement (this is my first moc I've ever posted anywhere).

Hyena Droid Bomber Being Rammed By Technic Truck
Clone OPatra replied to CloneCommanderDelta7's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Interesting... The pictures are a bit blurry, and the background kind of detracts from the comic. To be honest, I don't really understand the point, is it that the Droid Bomber is just an ugly ship that should be taken apart? -
I got the Yoda, Mace, and Dooku set, and I noticed a difference too, excluding Yoda. Yoda seemed normal to me. I don't have the other versions of the figures, but Mace and Dooku seem to be made of cheaper plastic, not as rich and bold as usual minifigures. And I don't think it's all 2009 sets either, because my 8014 clones are just fine. I was disappointed when holding Mace and Dooku in my hand, they just seemed... different. (Not to say I don't love them anyway, I do!) Also, besides the indent in the inside of the arms, has anyone else noticed the numbers on the sides of the hands? (Not the gripping part of the hand, but the arm part, I don't know how to describe it well.)

Great interior and ramp design! Overall a nice rendition of the ship, but it just looks a little too beefy out to the sides of the cockpit. That could just be me though.

I would like to state my opinion about Bionicle. To start, let me say that I have every original Turaga and Toa, and all of the original Toa Nuva with the cool armor. I still got one or two of each wave for a couple years, but now I have stopped altogether. Bionicle cannot be called system. The parts, while adults who are masters at building can combine them, are very hard for children to incorporate with regular LEGO bricks. But that does not make them useless or silly in any way. I personally find the story line after the first couple not confusing but just a bit weird and repetitive, but I think kids like it very much. Like the story line, I feel the figures themselves have become very repetitive, and a bit overpriced in the last year or two. I can see a case being made that this year's sets are an improvement, but I still find the sets to all be very similar. I know someone who has always thought all the Bioncile lines look the same, and when I was buying them I disagreed, but now I believe he was almost right. Still, as I have seen said many places on Eurobricks before, "No LEGO pieces are useless." I think that should be kept in mind when discussing Bionicle. Just because one person finds Bioncile impossible to incorporate, others find many uses for it, and that applies to all LEGO parts (even stuff like Clikits, I've seen it done).

Not probably, definitely. It has already been confirmed (from TLG's product description): "Drop ship automatically locks onto walker, then releases it with the push of a switch! Also works with #7675 AT-TE Walker." It is cool that LEGO already had this thought out though.
-
To my knowledge all of the magnet sets have only been sold from S@H and LEGO stores, the same as most other special Lego related items that are not actual sets.
-
Are you talking about Rex? And if so, did you mean you would not be surprised if he was in another set? In the old Clone Wars show all the clones got phase 2 armor at one point, so I bet that will happen in the new series too. Then LEGO can give us cool Clone Wars phase 2 versions of the clones!

The Tauntauns in the movie look like this: Their eyes are where that big blank spot is on the LEGO mold, and those bumps on the forehead are straight from the movie, as you can see from the picture. I hope LEGO adds some printed eyes to the tauntaun before selling the set!

Yep. Here it is from the Graveyard Duel: and

I suggest you check out this topic where it is being discussed.

Other as in, not Star Wars? Or just other Star Wars sets? Follow the link above and look around in the photostream, you'll find a bunch of the Star Wars sets and of other themes.

Best (because of how long they ran and how generally cool the stuff was/is) 1. Adventurers-all: I'll admit the dino part was a little weird, but everything else rocked (the vehicles, buildings, guys, etc.) 2. Star Wars: from the beginning, this was an awesome theme to recreate some of the most widely loved movies ever 3. Pirates/Castle -all: great sets with tons of possibilities for adventure Worst: 1. Galidor: Why call that LEGO? (also LEGO's first trip to chinese made stuff, I might add) 2. Scala: Dolls with minimal LEGO parts? What? (Bellville I understand, at least that was mostly LEGO) 3. That underwater stuff (stingrays and aquazone): The very original underwater stuff was ok, but the next wave looked really ugly, with blocky uninteresting vehicles and bad colors (the only good thing was the helmets on the stingrays) EDIT: oh wait, I forgot Clikits, maybe that could be swapped with stingrays While I understand why somebody could like stingrays or aquazone, Galidor and Scala go without saying as a on LEGO's part.

Just to completely firm up how the AT-OT attaches, and all sorts of other play features, watch these videos of the sets in action demonstrated at Toy Fair: http://www.flickr.com/photos/countblockula...57613954405460/ (I haven't seen these posted here already)

The camper's opening mechanism reminds me of the police armored car from several years back, 2005 I think it was.

Does anybody know of any pictures with Palpatine's guards not wearing their helmets? I hope there is a neat and new face inside, but I'm guessing there isn't.
