Hello, I changed the topic title so that this is now clearly the Nintendo Flagship Series discussion it's turning out to be anyway. I've also added a poll, and if enough people think something like Sonic should be on there, I could add it. Oky, wasn't Sonic first created by Sega anyway? Sega wasn't Nintendo, was it? Maybe I'm just confused, but would Sonic count as a Nintendo series? Out of the three mentioned in the first post, I'd have to pick Mario, since it's the only one I've ever really played. The only Mario that I thought was pretty bad was the 64 one, but the newer DS and Wii ones have been much much better in the classic style. I love Nintendo's update of the side-scrolling style, by making it side-scrolling while still very shiny and 3-Dish. So that answers the second question, I like side-scrolling. Would Kirby count as a Nintendo series? There are certainly a bunch of Kirby games, though not as many as the others I suppose, and I love the idea of the little pink guy. Kirby games are some of my favorite, since sucking up powers never gets old. To be honest, I'd never even heard of or seen Metroid, I don't think. Quite odd, if it's one of the biggest series.

Mission Commander, I think this topic could be nicely expanded into a Nintendo Flagship Series discussion, don't you? Since you would like 'what's your favorite game' in your poll, I am going to change your topic title to reflect all three games, if that's alright with you.

I have friends that have youtube channels like this. Sometimes I find them funny, because I actually know them, or because it is late at night. There are so many of these out there, that it would be just as well to start a thread that says go search youtube for guys sitting in their room doing silly things and talk about it. But I think YouTube does not need to be discussed. There's lots of stuff on it, but if everybody posted something that they though was funny this board would get really full really fast and not everybody would be amused anyway. Please keep that in mind.

I have seen Hurt Locker, and it was a good film, but I was still expecting Avatar to win. Though I like Avatar less and less the more I dwell on it, I thought that this year the Academy would really boost its ratings and give the big award to a movie that lots and lots of people actually went to see. But instead, they give it to Hurt Locker, a typical art-house pick. Oh well. I thought Hurt Locker was a good film, but not the best. I liked some of the other ten choices better (not Avatar though), but most of those were just random picks to satisfy the new count of ten.

I'm the latest to the party! Happy late-birthday Fellows! Also good that your son knows not to write LEGOs, Holodoc.

Here it is. On the right is the one I got in the set. On the left is the one I got from Customer Service. It still is not shiny like the armor shown on the box, but LEGO did not make it that way in reality. I thought the first one was significantly bad to request a replacement.
-
When I got the set, the printing on my golden knight's armor was definitely off and ugly. I contacted LEGO service and they sent me a new, correctly printed one. I can provide a picture later if anyone doesn't believe me or would like to see.

Huh? Do you define a movie to be the director's movie only if the director also wrote the script? That would mean a whole lot of directors out there haven't had any movies that count as "one of their movies."

If I know a little about the plot and characters perhaps I will become interested and wish to find out more, or decide that I don't care. Maybe I actually did read a book from the series but did not connect that with the mere title "Legacy of the Force," and the added information jolts my memory. Knowing something a bit more than the title is certainly helpful for people to figure out if they're interested or not.

The title made it obvious what the thing was that you were talking about, but people (like me) may have no idea what that thing is. Like I said, I could tell it was a Star Wars book, but I knew nothing about that book and therefore could not have much to say without looking up the thing myself. Thank you for taking the time to add information to the first post, since now people who had no clue before may be interested in discussing it.

Siegfried, I noticed that under the Color Key at the bottom of the locked Users post it does not mention the golden color that Ambassadors have. Perhaps you want to add that? I predict Big Cam will be an Arch Duke in about two weeks.

Review: 4585532 Vintage Minifigure Collection 5
Clone OPatra replied to DLangRI's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh, I see the pics now. Uh, the Ninja girl looks horribly cross-eyed. Just like all the other Vintage Figure Collections, I think I'll pass this up. If I really wanted any of the figures (I already have the only one that interests me here - the Ninja), I'd spend the money on the real version. For Star Wars figures I might be willing to take the magnet-pack fakes, but for old figures I just don't see the point. -

None of the pictures are working. Please try to amend this problem. I'd really like to see your review! -
While I don't really mind that you started a topic to discuss this, your post is far too exclusionary. I can tell you're talking about a Star Wars book, but I have no idea what it is and you provide no background. Sure, people that aren't interested probably won't comment, but you need to provide more information as to what you are talking about. Please take the time to edit your post with some background and more detailed information about what you're talking about. Links to things are nice too; does it have a starwars.com page or a wookiepedia page? Thank you for your understanding.

This is a nice topic. Since it's actually LEGO creations too, maybe this should go in LEGO General Discussion (or maybe not). If I can dig up some photos (if any exist) I'll share too. I hope others have fun images to share, I can see this topic being very exciting. Even though your kid moc is a big mish-mash, it's still a nice base to play with as a kid. It's tall (always nice), and it really seems to have some components to it. I like it.

What was the last movie you watched?
Clone OPatra replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw Shutter Island most recently. Yes, as was said, it is not scary, nor supposed to be. Some parts are just a bit chilling, or you think it might be scary and it turns out not to be. Some middle sections certainly dragged on, but the movie provoked some thought. Could've been shorter, but it was beautifully shot and acted. -
I've only seen snippets of the show, and liked it pretty well, but remember that this is an adaption for the big screen. It is not a live action version of the show, the plot may not be what you've thought of before, and many other details are going to be different. Just like Harry Potter or the LOTR movies are adaptions of their book source material, the Last Airbender is an adaption of its source material: the show. I suppose it's quite normal for lovers of the source material to be extremely nitpicky and critical of the adaption, but they can still try to see the movie as what it is and not as an exact copy of the source's features. Yes, I myself have disliked certain movies based on books I've loved, like the Golden Compass, but that was because the movie was just mediocre, not because of its differences from the book. If this movie doesn't leave too much to be desired and has the proper elements, then judge it based on what it is rather than the source that it was inspired by.

Ah yes, I remember something like this. HP 3 was the first time I saw Czech Republic in the Made In list as well. Pieces might not have been made in Korea, though. It might just have been some packaging thing, or the instructions or something. The actual bricks are not made in all the places listed on the boxes.

Let's keep HALO in one place. Topics merged.

Not sure how new that trailer is. I think it was debuted during the Super-Bowl, or at Percy Jackson showings. I saw that a week or two ago. Still, thanks for deeplinking it. It does make the movie look nice I think. I'm excited.

Have a lovely birthday Master. Try not to let them catch you with all that LEGO chewing gum!

In what picture? Perhaps you're thinking of the invisibility cloak?

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy

1. They're not like real courses exactly. All on the website of course. 2. You need to have 3 intact sets that you will review. You do not need the box, but instructions and a complete set are musts. 3. It would be nice for you to show us that you are dedicated, but there is no post-count necessity. By typing properly, you show that you do not rush your posts and that you act maturely (no matter your age).
