The paper continues on about the work of the Ziegfrieds in establishing magical services around the city ranging from street lighting, to clean water fountains. An entire section of the paper is dedicated to letters sent to the editor expounding on how Heroica had helped all of them in the past, including farmer MacDonald, Bilbert Wigglepike, Teresa Finneldria, and many more. The trail of bodies leads away from the temple and to a newly dug tunnel of massive proportions. The air thickens with even more spores as the group approaches closer, no sound can be heard from up ahead. A flurry of wings sounds behind the party as the three dragons arrive in the temple cavern. Patricia pauses looking the skirmisher up and down, "Remember, when you came to the Watch's doorstep that night long ago you expected death, I told you what the law required and you placed the burden of guilt upon yourself. That thief annoyed me just as you did, the only difference is the law clearly outlined her punishment." Patricia stumbles on the beach as Karie releases her, hands covering her throat. "I hope *cough* you some day learn to show yourself such mercy." "And there is where you will fail Arthur, there is where every sob story and deceitful con-artist of a criminal will walk all over your bleeding heart and tear apart the city you claim to protect. May the gods have mercy on us all that day." With that Patricia drops her badge in the sand and walks off to join the Founders on Luxidious. QM Note: Right now I have, 4 affirmations of blowing the fort and 2 against. The majority of the Paladin and Town watch forces join the Founders aboard the golden dragon, Hoke and a few heroes mount Torc, as Euflear and Germ along with a few of the ex-Bonapartes scramble onto the Vermilion Wyvern. The remainder of the prisoners and sailors join the heroes upon the Magpie as the dragons and ship begin to hastily make for the harbor of Eubric. A few hundred meters out, Dyric spots the trail of well lain gunpowder set out on the beach. With a well aimed shot the assassin launches a flaming arrow which lights the trail snaking throughout the fortress to the well positioned explosives the sailors had quickly deployed. As the Bonaparte ships nearly reach the fort a gigantic fireball engulfs the horizon as wood, stone, and glass is flung sky high. The thunder of the explosion reverberates across the water as the ruins of the fort go up in smoke and a raging inferno. The Bonaparte ships change course and for the time being hold back from following the groups into the harbor. Several minutes pass before all of the heroes, founders, prisoners, sailors, paladins, and Town watch disembark onto the mainland at the harbor. "Alright heroes, where is Rosier, you said she was under the city, right?" -

"Most of the powder's in the supply bunkers by the outer wall." The sailors round up nearly two hundred barrels of gunpowder for Atramor and the heroes to distribute. As the fort begins to empty leaders from both the Paladin forces and Town Watch arrive and after a short chat with Yuliana and Mycroft turn towards the rest of the heroes. The minotaur stands a good half-head taller than most and seems familiar to a couple of the heroes. Captain Cousland, trademark scowl and all, surveys the group. "Well then bit of a mess aye? Got nearly twenty men to move out, that ship of yours trustworthy?" "You lot caused a whole lot of headaches the past couple of weeks, some of you I can't say I was surprised, others it's a soddin' shame. I ain't here offerin' apologies and I doubt you lot are of a mind to either. Suffice it to say, I've got some good men that I wished hadn't gotten tangled up in all this mess. Good men who trusted you lot and I had little choice but to send to the gallows if we wanted to have some sort of standard. Whatever we're going into next, you just make sure those men, like Hoples... like Grash... make sure you don't give them a hope you can't deliver on." And that's always the tricky part and when writing a quest for 20 people, there's going to be differing levels of communication and I need to be contingent that some folks need an NPC to straight up say "Don't fight A" or "we can take B". Pandering might not be the best term, easy/unearned is more what I'm getting at. We enjoy heroic stories not because the protagonists have everything handed to them, but because they persevere through adversity and make do with the hand they are dealt. I appreciate your trying to go with the flow of the round Lind and get what you're trying to combat. Both Flipz and Pala also have valid points in that timing throughout this whole game has always been iffy. I'm OK with the conversations, sure it takes away from some of the visual of an ongoing battle, but the Founders are also engaging in the conversation. I could easily have them ignore any attempts at conversation and strictly roll the round as if talking had no effect, but given their current attitudes toward the situation, they weren't full on unreasonable quite yet. It is a tough balance though between respecting the situation and trying to communicate ones thoughts to the group given our format. At a normal live game these would be easy back and forths or side conversations and wouldn't really stick out so bad.

Germ's shouts from the deck of the Magpie give the Golden Dragon pause as she glances up at her companion before returning an icy glare at the demon.The Vermilion Wyvern launches itself into the sky as Dyric and Kiray quickly leap from the tower onto the beasts back as the creatures makes a dive for the beach. Lind and company square their shoulders against the senior fighters. Lind darts in with his blade but is bull-rushed by the mountain of a man and knocked completely off his feet his body crushed as it slams into the outer wall. Torald unleashes a desperate twister of sword and sorcery as Petaldan tries in vain to calm the rapidly deteriorating situation. Elphaba darts in with her stave and while unable to bypass the dragoon's defenses, manages to befuddle the fighter momentarily. Heckz prepares a last minute spell that rains motes of darkness upon the senior heroes, but the Golden Dragon quickly rallies her allies for a charge of the heroes ranks. Ezeran downs a tonic before trying to outsmart Lady Luck, but the mistress of misdirection spots his con and remains unimpressed. As the heroes' allies head for the safety of the outer wall. Arthur's words seem to hit a chord within the Miracle Worker. "Enough!" With a slam of his staff a white radiance washes across the field, the fallen sailors and even Lind sit up, their lives restored. The old man braces against his staff as he nearly collapses. "Let it end Yuliana." "Mycroft..." "MONSTERS!" Euflear launches herself across the beach at the Golden Dragon. The two collapse in a tussle."What devilry is this? " "Euflear?" "Get off of me!
