  1. Exactly, so tack on 1 Gold to their drop and they become mug-able.
  2. OoC: Favoring is x3 not x2. Skrall downed a smelling salt before firing again at Angry Crab B from the back row. "Nur, ya want to handle that?" Battle Order: Alexis Hoke Skrall Nur Namyrra Stigveladi
  3. If you want a specific vote, I'm for Endgame's Second Proposal, keep discretion in the hands of the QM's, allow for more gold drops, and still achieve some balance with the gold issue.
  4. OoC: I think the same could be said of Skrall's traded and used Meads.
  5. QM Note: Ah, right you are. I was thinking they gave the hastened effect, fixed.

  9. Alright so numbers time at least from quest 50 till now. Now take these with a slight grain of salt as some of these quests were extremely long and allowed for more battles, but also that some of these quests were extremely short and only had 2-3 battles. Additionally it should be noted that some of these quests also had opportunities to spend gold mid-quest which can affect the numbers. One pattern I think that is pretty obvious is that the higher level a character becomes the more the gold they reap and for the most part the Advanced classes are the ones getting the most gold. Organized by Quest Organized by Gold Gained As far as the fields are concerned, I feel they are designed for XP and consumable/loot farming, not gold farming and should be subject to the same rules as the rest of the game.
  10. "Well, that wasn't too bad. A few clumps of sea weed and a soggy pachyderm nothing more. Rainbow Falls seems as good a stop as any. If everyone's all set, we'll get moving." 11. Even though realistically I think only humanids and with a few exceptions, will be caring Gold.
  12. I think Pandora and Brickdoctor have put it best in that it is not that we don't appreciate having rogues with lots of extra consumables or high weapon power, but that it undermines the value of other classes. Rogues can go into how high their upkeep budget is, but remember the rest of the classes do just fine without being jacked up on consumables all of the time. Between the suggestions thus far, I'm in favor of either the Humanoid clause, or Endgame's second proposal. In a way Endgame's second proposal actually provides for QM common sense: If you think an enemy could have gold stolen from them, then add some gold into their drop.
  13. Seriously though, I'd say more rogues play the class for role-playing reasons than stats.
  14. Assassins aren't supposed to be powerhouses, and the incredible amount of Gold rogue classes make is turning them into powerhouses. I think less people play rogue for the money gaining aspect then you probably think. While the gold is a nice perk, I think we all know that people play rogues because they are the most bad-megablock class out there. They've got mad lock-picking skills.
  15. Xander takes another hit from the dark green dragonling before Nerwen casts two Blood Rituals restoring the Party's health at Ecastue's expense. 16. As Scuba has said, you'll be taking a 40% hit to income, I'd like to see how the actual statistics play out, but I'm not sure it would be as bad as people think it would be. Sure you aren't going to be able to buy a Tricorne and imbue it with every single gem after your first quest, but you'll still be able to be generous if you want.
  17. However as Scuba has mentioned, there is no way to counter a rogues gold-making advantage as Scuba has pointed out (the same is true for Clerics, but we haven't really seen Clerics throwing the balance of the game off). Knights encounter SP ignoring enemies, Mages run up against Ancient or Etherial enemies, Barbarians are terrible against single strong enemies, and Rangers lose their primary advantage to enemies that ignore row. Rogues don't have a readily available counter. Other classes I'm sure already sign-up based on their abilities. I specifically signed up for Brickdoctor's last quest because I knew that there would be tons of Humanoid enemies, which would be an advantage to a Hunter. We as QM's are also able to limit which classes sign-up for a quest anyways so how is this any different? If a party has a rogue in it, than just as it behooves a QM not to include to many SP ignoring enemies when there is a Knight in the party, then the QM should also attempt to not not include some Humanoid enemies in the quest, or give appropriate loot suitable to rogues.
  18. I considered going into details about how the pill affected Nerwen, but that was so much better.
  19. While these are definitely things to try implementing more, I feel it to some degree depends upon the individual QM and the individual players. From the QM side, each of us have certain strengths and aspects of QMing we enjoy. For some of us it's battle designs, for others, story; others, NPC's or puzzles. With some QM's you're going to get a complex battle with many layers of mechanics, other QM's are going to give you enemies to just grind through and focus their efforts elsewhere. It's definitely something to be taken into consideration when your signing up for a quest. Not all quests are going to cater to you as a player even though they might as a character and we have to be willing to accept that. Unfortunately, there is no magic formula to a perfect battle either, because every player is different, and what might be enjoyable to one player i.e. a battle requiring a lot of strategy, may be extremely frustrating to another who just wants their character to smash things to oblivion and that's it. Choices are an excellent way to make a story engaging, but let's remember to balance things out with enough limitations so as to not overwhelm players who want to play in a more simple style.
  20. Skrall fumbles trying to reload a bolt as one of the gloom widows charges at him, only to freeze inches away stunned by Namyrra's sorceress powers. 21. Round 1 of the Penthouse Showdown: Cronk vs. Marsh Dragonling - Defended Damage (Cronk: 48+16 HP-(30 Damage)=34 Health) >Xander vs. Forest Dragonling - Damage (Xander: 42+5 HP-(24/2=12 Damage)=35 Health) Nerwen - Consumes Pixie Dust Nerwen vs. Ecastue - Extra Critical Hit Hit (Ecastue: 250 HP-(10x3=30+20/2=25 Fire Damage)=225 Health, Fragile for 3 Rounds) >Dyric vs. Tundra Dragonling - Critical Lethal Hit Damage (Tundra Dragonling: 100 HP-(20x2=40+21+1=62 Damage)= 38 Health, No Assassination) Mountain Dragonling vs. Cronk - Free Hit (Cronk: 34 HP+16-(30 Damage)=20 Health) Cronk vs. Mountain Dragonling - Counterstrike (Mountain Dragonling: 100 HP-(30 Damage)=70 Health) Plains Dragonling vs. Xander - Free Hit (Xander: 35+5 HP-(24/2=12 Damage)= 28 Health) Cavern Dragonling vs. Nerwen - Free Hit (Nerwen: 37+3 HP-(24 Damage)= 16 Health) Cronk - Blessed (Cronk: 20 HP+3 HP=23 Health) Nerwen - Poisoned (Nerwen= 16 HP-1 Damage= 15 Health) Things do not start off well for the heroes. Both Cronk and Xander take hits from the dragonlings as the air is filled with a flutter of wings and breath weapons. Nerwen consumes the pixie dust, unable to tell whether the oncoming adrenaline rush is from the drug or the heat of battle, she launches herself at Ecastue, morning star held high. The elf lands a tremendous hit upon the half dragon man, but due to the weakening effects of the drug it only does a moderate amount of damage. Dyric pins the orange dragonling to a rafter with his bow as the party faces the onslaught of free hits. Cronk's health is slightly restored as Ennoc smiles upon him, however the aftereffects of the pill impart a poison into the veins of the elf. THE BATTLE CONTINUES!
