  1. "Pearls before swine, it seems," Skrall sighed quietly to himself before moving over to Octavyn. The ogre whispered silently, "Think you can put 'em down, before ya go crawlin' over the cliff face? We don't need any more trouble fer the evenin' and I think they could use a good nap to bring 'em back to their senses, or what's left of 'em anyways. I'll keep 'em distracted dealin' with their wares." Skrall moved to distribute the loot. Loot Distribution: Karie: Scroll of Sleep, Grand Tonic, 30 Gold Baradock: Deadly Venom, Light Armor, 35 Gold Skrall: Grand Potion, Jinxy Juice, 35 Gold
  2. Skrall turned to the pitiful creature. What horrors had she seen living in the hovels? What degredations had driven her to find escape in such destructive substances? These and many other thoughts flitted through the ogre's head as he looked down upon the elf pleading for some sort of justice. Drawing himself up, he began to berate the elf "Did yer perfect plan involve gettin' yerself killed, woman? How about yer compatriots? Do ya have any sort of idea what yer goin' after? What happens when someone else has to go chasin' after yer bodies? Do ya really think that if they thought a bunch of self styled heroes could handle the job they would be coughin' up gold to pay Heroica heroes to come down here and investigate? Ya come crawlin' to me like a beaten dog too ornary to stop eatin' the poison he's been devourin' all his life. Ya sicken me with the disgrace ya are to anyone who claims the title of 'hero'. Fer yer attackin' us, we ought to have pushed ya into the sea with yer stuff. Yer a disgrace to yer race and to yer city and lettin' ya live seems like more than ya deserve." Skrall watched to see if his tirade had shaken some sense into the poor woman before sighing a little. "But, ya did come here out of concern fer yer own it would seem. Even in a more sober state of mind, few would have done so. If ya truely are concerned fer those that have gone missin' I'll give ya this prospect. I've seen ya can all handle yerselves fairly well in a scrape, now we've got no clue what's awaitin' us, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have a few more blades with us. Ya tell us what ya were plannin' and we'll look into this thing together. Cooporate and I'll see yer embersed fer some of yer losses today. No more of that poison mind ya, but at least somethin' ya can subsist on. What do ya say?"
  3. OoC: Marking the favored does 3xWP, plus the Hunter's Quiver should give +2 to WP as well. Also, doesn't hitting an asleep enemy wake them up? Skrall quickly marks the humanoid pattern of the masked man, definitely unlike the rocky movements of the monsters of the fields, before burying another bolt into the Masked Man from the back row. "Octavyn and barbarian, bring that elf down before she wakes up." Battle Order: Skrall Karie Octavyn Baradock
  4. "The same one he's been wailin' at!"
  5. OoC: Just noted, Skrall should be encouraged, which means the Archer should be KO'd. Skrall loaded another bolt before levelling his crossbow at the man in the mask from the back row. "Keep at 'em, make sure yer hittin' to knock 'em out. No need in killin' the soddin' puddin' heads." Same Battle Order
  6. "What are ya waitin' fer, barbarian? Smack that elf from here to next Tuesday." Skrall loaded a bolt into his crossbow and took aim at the archer from the back row. The ogre turned to Octavyn, "I'm sure. Kaire, feel free to start whittilin' away at that armored sod. Octavyn, join the barbarian's assault on the elf from the front." Battle Order: Skrall Karie Octavyn Baradock
  7. "Octavyn, drag the barbarian with you to the front and attack that archer's crate."
  8. "Right then, Karie, if ya wouldn't mind lossin' off one of those pumpkin bombs of yers. Octavyn you take one crate, barbarian, the other." Skrall shuffled through his pack before removing a Lightning Bomb and tossing it from the back row[/b] as he dived for cover from the ensuing explosions. Battle Order: Karie Skrall Octavyn Baradock
  9. Current Sign-ups for Quest #90: A Trip to the Circus: Heckz Brutenhal, Level 15 Sorcerer (Eric Su) Johon, Level 26 Riader (Bricksandparts) Dyric Rone, Level 22.33 Assassin (The Legonator) Althior Emorith, Level 36.5 Necromancer (K-Nut) Hybros, Level 29 Assassin (JimB) Alexis Fenral, Level 35.5 Harlot (Masked Builder) Dreyrgur, Level 19.5 Black Knight (Vash the Stampede)
  10. "Ya can look at it as more as gettin' those drugs off the streets. But either way, best get ready." Skrall turned from the heroes and unholstered his crossbow, "Now folks we can do this the easy way or the hard way. After a might bit of consideration, we've decided it best you turn for home and drop the heroing act. 'Sides, ya'd be best to do it when it ain't rainin' anyways. We'll have to say no to the drugs and would be obliged if you yerselvs would step aside."
  11. Skrall whispered to the heroes, "Well, do we let the fools go off and kill themselves? They obviously aren't goin' to allow us to stick around."
  12. The gold one spends on upgrading a weapon would eventually become useless however.
  13. Skrall stared at the paper it had been many months since he had to do any extensive reading and it took a while for the rain smeared words to assemble themselves into a cohesive sentence. Skrall whispered back before giving a long hard stare at the silent barbarian, "Considerin' that. I don't mind 'em goin' ahead of us, but would rather them do it on our own terms. Let's see what they have to say."
  14. Maybe a wizard did it.Edit for relevance: As an alternative to a straight cap, how about one based on leveling? I.e. Lv. 1-10 heroes can only use weapons lower than WP 10, etc.
  15. "Don't seem to see any signs sayin' this is private property, I think we've got as much right to be conductin' our business here as you do, unless of course ya've got somethin' yer tryin' to hide. 'Sides we've no intentions of stoppin' whatever yer heroic deeds." Skrall opened popped the cap off of a mead and took a drink, the amber liquid warming him a little in the cold rain.
  16. Skrall eyed the psychos as he whispered to Karie and Baradock, "I'd be interested to find out how a group from the hovels got to be so well armed."
  17. Skrall wasn't in the mood for bantering with fools, but he knew that the streets didn't need any more blood than was necessary. "Not at all, feel free to continue. If ya need any help just holler." Skrall watched as Baradock chucked his bottle of mead. "Ummm... Or feel free to do whatever ya please, long as it's civilized."
  18. Skrall shakes the rain off of his back, "Ya folks really think this is the moment for an intervention?"
  19. Skrall watched Karie's discontent at his answer. "Ah, you met Dyric as well. Both of 'em had pretty trying experiences with the witch I mentioned earlier, Wren. Was a bit of nasty business. The carnage and chaos caused by her was pretty hard to stomach. When ya spend so much time fighting against somethin' it can be a little hard adaptin' to the same thing claimin' to be something else." Listening to Octavyn's philosophy, the ogre shrugged. "Life's a joke, a riddle, a highway, I've heard it all. For me, life is what ya make it. We all like to overlay our own definitions on reality. For the druggie, life is just the interem between the next fix. The hero, the time between the next rush of adrenaline. The criminal, the pause where he lays low between his heists. It's the time where we are actively aware of it's passage. When we're distracted by what ever gets us off, the concept of life is far in the back of our mind, suppressed by the enjoyment of the given moment."
  20. "No one's really asked ya for it. If ya think it'll be beneficial feel free."
  21. Skrall chuckled at Karie's description of Thothwick before her question, "Ah so you've met Thothwick. Not bad as far as heroes go. But yes, he does have a thing against witches doesn't he? Did he never tell ya why?"
  22. "Some might say accomplished, I look at it as bein' in the wrong places at the wrong times. Took a few quest huntin' down a witch with a god complex, spent a some months in the Fields slayin' monsters, and did an odd job or two fer the town watch."
  23. "Things never go as planned. Sounds like neither of you two have been completely honest with the other. I won't say either of ya are wrong or right completely, just that one of ya is better at shoutin' at the other."
  24. "If no one has any further questions, I'd like to get to this place while we've still got some daylight."
  25. A note on cannoneers, they can intentionally do damage to all opponents with one shot. Something Barbarians and Mages only do on shield rolls.
