I'll let you use the scythe because I worded the special poorly (weapons need to be retrieved, now fixed for clarification), however I'm not sure if shields fall under the category of weapon or artifact as far as equipping is concerned, but I'll see if we get a ruling in Rules & Discussion.

Dreyrugr takes a nasty hit that knocks most of his equipment out of easy reach, but Grishnod steps in to keep the other monsters off the vampire's back, the Orc dealing a smashing strike on the other rot priest. Purpearl lets loose a fire ball, but the spell careens harmlessly off one of the cavern's sides. Matthais manages to squash a few of the ever multiplying spores but they quickly grow back under his feet. Baradok squares off with one of the guards and lands a squishing blow to the abominations torso.   17. Good question, when the game first began there were only the 6 basic classes. As the game grew, Sandy finalized and introduced the advanced classes, thus the class skills may seem slightly counter-intuitive, because the former were created semi-independently of the latter.

With that Grishnod turns to the party, his eyes piercing. "You wish to have Valentino restored to you? Then assist me in claiming back what rightfully belongs to me. Stand with me as my attachés and when I am restored as clan leader, my first act shall be to see Valentino released to you. What say you?"
