"Nope, not that I really cared at that point. Hard enough finding my way to a cleric, thankfully Ennoc's temple was just up the street." Althior does not see any fresh wounds upon the actor. Benji downs his drink and feels a tingling sensation across his skin. He has become able to temporarily Absorb Fire. "You're vlattery is vell noted, Mr. Carvenhall, but I do not mind boasting. I hail vrom Azzurat, vhere I made my vortunes in the spice trade. There was no one like me vho could guarantee vull customer satisvaction and such quick deliveries. I got out of the business 2 years ago and decided to do some traveling, Xu, Eversummer, Dastan, I've seen it all. Eubric intrigued me so much that I decided to stay. Such a melting pot of cultures, it's like nothing I've seen bevore." "Really Mr. Ablesword? Between yourself, disturbed Althior, and egotistical Benji, you wonder why I would choose to be distracted by you? It's not often you see such a blend of powerful magic, companionship with dragons, and such nobility of both mind and spirit." -

"Never seen anything like it. Ugly as Hel, covered in warts and gristle, not a scrap of clothing either. And let me assure you, I come from a long line of touch-as-nails actors, we've been impaled, set on fire, stoned, and drowned by our critics and we Mandos keep coming back. You think I'm not in pain right now?" The elf unbuttoned more of his shirt to show a line of nasty bruises extending down his right side. "Acting!" -

"Ale, no my friend, I saw it with my own two eyes. I was walking back home from this very establishment. I may have had a drink or two, but let me tell you what I saw was no illusion. So there I was minding my own business when I heard someone crying. I thought to myself 'Now why would anyone be crying at this time of night.' Than it hit me, bigger than an ogre it was, came from one of the alleyways, bowled me over and sent me flying into an apple cart. Then it went storming off down the streets of Eubric, walking on two legs like nobody's business." "It is indeed. I must say it isn't everyday a hero walks through my door, especially one so... gifted." -

"I make it my business to know all about the respectable gems this city has to offer. Moira." The woman offers her hand to Hoke. "I knew him, part of the reason I left for Wigglepike. I couldn't stand that sodding pen-pusher." Barlin eyes Althior at the mention of a monster and takes a rather large tug at his tankard. The elf looks around to see if anyone is listening in on their conversation before he whispers, "Maybe some have, my friend." -

The Vampire sits unfazed by Benji's titles. "No bother at all, I am Carnabus Bollins III. What brings you to The Lotus?" Hoke down's his drink, he feels a tingling sensation crawl across his skin he becomes keenly aware of the temperature of the room and Torc's body heat seems invigorating to the Mystic Knight. For a short time Hoke has gained the ability to Absorb Fire. Hoke mounts the stairs and approaches the succubus, the shapely demon smiles at him. "Good evening, Hoke Ablesword." The mermaid hands Althior a frothy drink, dew condensing on the frozen mug. The necromancer downs his drink and feels Companionship with those around him. "It's been here for about a year now, word gets around about the best local establishments fast. I've been acting for nearly 5 years, Wigglepike brought me in from Bric'lin, I can't say he has the best taste in productions, but he knows how to run a theater. And you can bet I've seen some weird things, like just last week I was nearly torn in half by some freak." -

The Norn smiles at Benji but glances at the vampire beside her. "It's alvight dear, even though you're vith me tonight, you can still talk to the gentleman, I'm not a selvish vagabond." "Doreen, sir." "Let me find us a table then." Moments later Barlin returns with a drink in his hand and leads the group over to a table with a clear view of the elf swinging around on a pole. "Ah my friends, tis a wonderful thing to be surrounded by such beauty and such compatriotism isn't it? Now what is it that you wanted to discuss?" A man dressed in the livery of the Hinkwell family is watching an elf perform an elaborate dance on one of the several poles around the establishment. A cyclops in a uniform is pulled by an orc back into the bedroom from whence they had earlier come to check out the lively scene below. And Benji seems to be making conversation with a well-to-do vampire and a shapely norn. "Depends on what you're in the mood for. Tall dashing type like yourself, I'd suggest either a Frozen Gumdrop or a Dragon Daiquiri. We've also got a fine selection of Meads, and Mulled Wines if either of those would strike your fancy." -

The cyclops accepts the payments with a nod before opening the door and ushering the trio accompanied by Hoples and Barlin inside. The interior of The Lotus is lit by pink glowing lamps, upbeat music fills the small room, and the smell of smoke is heavy in the air. The patrons casually note the new comers entrance, but soon return to their prior enjoyment. A mermaid mans the bar and above on the second floor landing a succubus surveys the goings on of the establishment. "Hi Mando, returning from another smashing triumph at the theater?" "Indeed my dear, indeed." Barlin turned to the group. "My friends, while I thank you for your generosity in paying for my cover, allow me to show you a good time, the first round of drinks is on me." -

"Yes, I'm familiar with Mr. Mando's work. The captain didn't give me any deputies! Wait for me." The Party makes their way North to The Lotus, a rather well-to-do establishment right next to the Guffington Mansion. Outside the establishment the group is hailed by a cyclops bouncer standing in front of the door. [img[Picture Coming Soon[/img] "Cover's 10 Gold each." -

"Oh, you know, I enjoy the fine company of respectable folks around the town, you'd be surprised how many dinner parties I frequent." Barlin Mando leads the party out the back door, much to the consternation of a fuming Oswald Brickspit. "Just have Jacob stand in for me, my dear chap. You'll make do." As the party and Barlin start making their way to The Lotus they run into Detective Hoples. "Gentlemen, I've got the warrant, are we ready to proceed?" -

Benji is restored to full health. "No, but if you follow me, my fine fellow I'll show you where there is." Aside from costumes, Hoke notes nothing unusual or of remarkable value. Hoke doesn't notice any wounds or unusual marks on Barlin. "So shall we be off?" -

Althior identifies the contents of the bottle as a: Heady Perfume - Makes non-humanoid monsters avoid attacking the party unless provoked. Effect lasts for one day or night before wearing out. "You know, you're right *hic* They don't deserve me and I could use a stiff drink right about now. I know this wonderful place up the street, good drinks, good girls, what do you say?" -

Althior melts the lock at the cost of 1 ether, because that isn't destruction of private property. Hoke pokes his head inside but quickly pulls it back out as a bottle comes whizzing at him hitting the wall beside the door and shattering. A voice from inside shouts out. "No visitors, can't you see my genius is suffering!" Oswald hisses from down below. "What is going on up there?" -

"I act of course!" "I don't think what you do could be called acting, Jacob. More like filling in the background." "Yes, I am Oswald. The last person to come through the door? Would have been Barlin Mando, he's always late, he's always drunk, and he always looks disheveled, the slob." Hoke investigates the back stage, finding a lot of props, costumes, make-up, and other do-dads but nothing that looks particularly suspicious. The paper is simply a newspaper with the reviews of the current production. There is no sign of blood or water. -

Polly curtsied to the man outside the door. "Thank you, kind sir." Entering the inn, the little girl couldn't help but tapping her foot to the lively beat. She made her way over to the U'Kin bartender, climbed up on the stool and inquired. "What's on the menu?" -

Aside from the two possibly familiar looking extras, Althior doesn't note anything out of place, though the back stage of the theater is quite a mess. "Madame Splatterfly? It's a sad tale about a orcish maiden, Splatterfly, who fell in love with an Elven sailor who wintered in Baltarok with a merchant ship. When spring came the sailor left Splatterfly with child never expecting to see her again. When at chance he did return to Baltarok this time with a wife of his own in tow, Splatterfly, who is still madly in love with the Elf vainly attempts to contact him. Her love is unreturned and in her grief she devours her child and dashes herself upon the cliffs by the sea. A tragedy really, but a classic."
