  1. Going off this, I'd say the Millennium Falcon included with this is a bit too big for 6211.
  2. He probably means LUMS - "Legonater's Universal Mini Scale".
  3. This diagram is wrong. The canon lengths of the Consular, IPV-1, and Action IV should be 115m, 150m, and 125m respectively.
  4. 'Older original' 10221s? Did The LEGO Group introduce another grey?
  5. Such a render would go a long way in resolving this dispute. Be my guest!
  6. Evidently English is not his first language, which is understandabable, though I would be more forgiving had he stated so in his profile. Peeron also has a similar feature.
  7. Reading through the plot summaries on Wookieepedia for the first time, the Mortis arc feels strangely cliche...
  8. Wait for the episode of THE Clone Wars where Anakin, Obi-wan, Padme and a slew of other major characters fall through a time portal that takes them another ten years into the Wars so that they remain their respective canon ages by the Battle of Coruscant. Alternatively, it would be a simple matter of retconning everyone's ages...
  9. While I can’t provide as informed an answer to that as I’d like, I can tell you that 10030 was held together with magnets and suffered from a myriad of stability issues, including sagging and bending of parts (presumably due to its sheer size and weight). EDIT: Lasse's doesn't look too off:
  10. If they're "embedded in his cheekbones" and "directly connected to his windpipe" I really can't see how they would be very "removable". Or is there something about Duros anatomy I'm missing here?
  11. Older sources such as A Guide to the Star Wars Universe actually state that the Clone Wars ended in 35 BBY - well before the events of Menace, if it had existed - so it's possible that they could originally have been thought of as being much longer. (See my post in the General Questions thread concerning the Poisoning of Honoghr - something to do with the Ruusan Reformation.) Pity Stegoceras hasn't been posting lately.
  12. Put another way, the width is there; the model only appears to be narrower due to the added height. (Actually, Anio's is a bit too thin if I remember correctly, but that's not why it doesn't resemble the source material as closely as it could).
  13. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Clones, but I believe what he said was “Arfour, relay this: ‘scramble code five’...”. And in any case, programming a machine to recognize certain code names is easy enough.
  14. The hexagonal bit between the twin ion engines is actually a rear viewport. The Essential Guide claims there is a “Solar Ionization Reactor” there, but this is the same source claiming the X-34 is a puny 3.4m. Interestingly enough, TIEs with monochrome hulls seem to be unique to the first film; models in subsequent films featured dark grey highlights (the sensor arrays on either side of the viewport, for example, tend to be darker on most TIEs, as well as the bits around the engines). Even in the first movie certain TIES, such as Vader’s wingman, feature some unusual paint schemes. I can definitely see your point concerning the random placement of such colors, though; necessary though it may be, it does hurt the overall look (an issue common to all predominantly grey sets).
  15. It's no less edifying than the original question.
  16. The length of the studio model is 282cm (or 277cm, according to the Technical Commentaries). That's all I've got, though there are profile shots floating around that one could probably use to estimate other dimensions.
  17. Precisely. Droids aren't people, they're equipment! Or as Joruus C'baoth puts it, "creations that reason, but yet are not genuinely part of the Force."
  18. And while we’re at it, I’d also like to know when and where these pictures were taken. I can see Red Two, the Devastator, the 5’ Falcon, and the Radiant VII in the background… @mortesv: If we could get some more numbers (height, widths, etc.) the angles shouldn’t be too hard to find with some simple trig.
  19. Well, to really get into details, one could also make the following points: Yet in another source (Labyrinth of Evil, I think it was, or the Revenge of the Sith novelization) it’s illustrated that Obi-Wan habitually refers to Artoo as an ‘it’, much to the discontent of Anakin, who refers to him as a ‘he’. Furthermore, the Wookieepedia article claims that he “lamented the loss of R4-P17, as the droid had been a competent unit”. (Not the most reliable piece of evidence - I’d like to know what source this comes from - but it’s all I’ve got at the moment.) True, he cares about droids, but only to the extent that one would care about a mass-produced toaster (as simonjedi put it). Did they travel together? If I recall correctly, Threepio spent most of the Clone Wars in Padme’s service, while Artoo was serving as Anakin’s personal astromech droid. Presumably with duties in two different fields Padme and Anakin (and their droids) would have spent relatively little time together. Correct me if I’m wrong, but canonically speaking, I don’t really see them as a ‘duo’ until after they were assigned to Antilles (after which their experiences as a pair are extensively documented). ‘3PO’ can refer to any 3PO-series protocol droid; at least four different models are shown in Empire alone (C, R, K, and E). In other words, unless Luke had specified Threepio as being C-3PO, there would have been no reason for Obi-Wan to identify this particular 3PO unit as being the one he had seen with Anakin’s wife some twenty years ago. And even then, if there only exist 26 possible names for a 3PO-series protocol droid there are sure to be scores of golden C-3POs across the galaxy. But I’m drifting into pure speculation at this point, so I’ll stop. Just goes to show that these kinds of things can go either way. I blame poor script writing on Lucas’ part.
  20. I believe those are for staff only.
  21. Hilarious. I'm reminded of this. (There's a link to the folder here; wait until Brickshelf comes back up.)
  22. So you like racers? What a coincidence - our subforum moderator actually happens to be a big Formula One fan. That's the spirit!
  23. I don't suppose anyone knows anything about these? I've had them for years but only recently became interested in the fact that they sported the ‘LEGO’ logo. Both of these were published in 1996. The text at the bottom reads '레고교육개발연구소', which translates roughly to 'LEGO Institute for Educational Development' - not something I’ve heard of before.
  24. I only wish we VERY passionate people weren't in the absolute minority. The average response is probably something like what you see here: Terribly uninformed - though it only appears that way to us! Aeroeza effectively beat me at my own game before I even started (being a 'visual effects guy' by profession and having attempted a 'definitive' X-wing in Maya), so I'm afraid I've since lost that battle. We tend to agree on matters of accuracy.
