It looks to be a simple matter of removing the upper pair of red 1x4 SNOT bricks and replacing the white 2x3 wedges (among a few other surrounding parts) accordingly. I don't think it will make the set much weaker in that area...

First Eurobricks post of the new year, and to help out an MOCer at that... how appropriate. If you want to make it as close to the movies as possible, the schematics are a poor choice of reference. Here are some pictures of a studio model, including a few shots of the back. Let me know if you need more. If you'll take a look at these two screencaps, you'll see that the underside of the bit on which the primary laser cannon is mounted is flat (not sure how to put it otherwise) rather than being sloped as on your creation. What I was suggesting was that if you were to remove the two topmost layers of bricks from the hinged wall in back (the ones with these in tan) and focus on having it 'flatter' (and more greebled) the shape of your creation as a whole would be closer to that of the 'real' craft. Seeing as you've since elongated the back, though, I wouldn't be surprised if this issue had already been fixed. EDIT: Ah, the screencap links don't work. Go here and see #3404 and #3410.

Nice AAT. I especially like the brickbuilt launch tubes (and the hearty supply of missiles within them ) - not something I've seen too often. The rounded bit at the front is tricky, but from most angles, your solution using slopes works well. Cockpit detail is great. A few suggestions: - There's a great opportunity for greebling in the area under the primary laser cannon. I think removing the corner 45 slopes and reworking that place on your own MOC a bit would greatly improve the overall shaping. - The primary cannon itself seems a tad too long; try moving the pivot further back such that it sits behind the secondary blasters. (Speaking of which – and this is just a small pet peeve of mine - there are three on either side ). - Antennae on top are a must! I don't recall ever seeing any engine glow on these, though.

On that note, care to tell us where you got these prices? -
It's an ongoing process, then?

£149.95 is what, about 230 U.S. dollars? -
But they've already been shrunken...

I have a suggestion that could maybe make this topic a little more ...interesting to read: I can say with some certainty that most craft will be released more than once in the course of the license for obvious reasons. I hence propose that we avoid mentioning rehashes unless the intent of the set would change along with the rehash (a UCS Venator as opposed to a Venator playset, for example). Similar rules would apply for a set's minifigure selection. Alternately, since there already exists a thread for minifigure wishlists, it may be better to avoid mentioning minifigures altogether. Just a thought.

Just noticed that the British price for 10225 is listed now: Any thoughts? -
Brickdoctor, you've forgotten to correct the set number on the blog.

So much redundancy on this forum.

Thank you for the review, cei. Having seen the slight differences in construction, I think this is an honest-to-goodness improvement (in accordance with what I've been saying in the 2012 Rumors thread for months now). The worm gear system has been somewhat refined, as has the construction of the nose. Inverted plates in the back deserve a .Great parts selection and minifigure selection as well. The fact that the squadron wing markings are stickers are somewhat bothersome, but seeing as the colors on this don't match up with those of either Red Five or Red Six in the first place I suppose it isn't really worth mentioning. And I know exactly where those 8-tooth gears would come in useful... You'd better be prepared to switch a few bricks around - the Red Squadron X-wings have wildly varying paint schemes.

I'm having some difficulty comprehending this post. I don't suppose you could rephrase it?

It's Lucas and his 'poetry' bit again, except this time as a retcon...

There have been plenty of other ships which have been done, as well as plenty that haven't been done but are sure to be done. In the 12 years that we've had the license, we've seen such obscurities as the TIE crawler, background craft like the Sentinel-class landing craft and the laser ice cutter, and even little things no one really wanted too badly, such as the Class-6. There have also been a number of one-offs we're unlikely to ever see again, such as the Freeco speeder, Ahsoka's Delta-7B, and the Halo. Granted, there are huge portions of the continuity that AFOLs have wanted the designers to draw from but are likely to remain largely ignored, such as KOTOR, but as far as source material from the films and THE Clone Wars goes, I feel that the LEGO Group has drawn from a broad enough range of source material to keep AFOLs and kids reasonably satisfied. Precisely. So please, don't bash the Star Wars license because of rehashes. Our six Y-wings aren't anything special (especially since none have yet to best this one made in 2005 ).

How did this thread get merged with wokajablocka's MOC?

All right then. For those of you that are curious, this is how the stormtroopers on Tatooine should look under their helmets: -

...Followed by you attaching the plates anyway due to a misread and later having to correct the mistake halfway into the build. Happens to me all the time. -

In past sets, there were always flashlights and shoulder pauldrons included with the visors and kamas. When did they stop doing this? -
I miss our Scary mAdmin. EDIT: Since I included that, I believe it's customary to say that I would like to see a Clone Wars Shadows minifigure with normal eyes.

Would 'all of them' be a suitable enough answer?

Republic starfighter Fury It's just occurred to me that the B'omarr monk in the new Jabba's palace is exactly the same as the old one. Pity. -
Now that you mention it, this would have been a rather good battlepack had it come with a third Geonosian instead of Barriss Offee. Gree isn't quite a perfect clone sergeant, but he'd pass for one.

The biker scout's helmet does look rather plain next to those of other troopers we've been seeing. I think the eye holes work for this helmet, though - unlike the phase II clone helmets, the side view is less awkward since the mold isn't so thick around the face: Ugh!
