  1. Really? Because I thought it was this part. Awesome MOC by the way!
  2. Oh No! The great and terrible Debate Of Whether LEGO Will Make Real War Sets strikes again! Remember, it's supposed to be soldiers vs. pirates, and you decide who is the good guy. Most lego themes have 2 factions: Good and Evil, i.e. Castle, Agents, Space Police, and adding a third faction to pirates, and making it Reds Vs Blues Vs Pirates confuses younger children as to who is the good guy. And it violates TLG's non-violence policy. So I doubt we would see sets like this, as much as we want to see them in real sets. That's why we build what we build .
  3. I've decided I like the tan/white color scheme, so most of my port (except my fort) will be this color. I redid the maritime office and built a trade union building: Do you remember Armendariz's "huge" army of 480 ?
  4. Really? Because I need to buy similar pieces for my ship. What store is it?
  5. As would I, but since the soldiers aren't really fighting large land battles, they would only need to transport cannon by ship. I personally would like to see large scale land sites and battles, and therefor sets like this, but I doubt that will happen.
  6. I think you will understand my reasoning- I am putting away most of my money for higher education. Lego is one of my favorite hobbies, but if I spend all my money on lego and don't get a great education, in this economy, I might not get a job and have to sell all my lego to get money! A free download that allows me to create my own models from my computer using any bricks I want for FREE really helps Oh, and yes, LDD can be really frustrating at times, I don't know how many times I wanted to burst out crying when the church kept getting screwed up .
  7. Excellent army, Alexander! The scotsman's legs are great, I love the kilts! And your custom greenjackets but the faces are kinda... well, i'll just say that not all welsh have untrimmed, unruly hair- change up the heads a bit, it'll make the army much more exciting.
  8. Nice rock wall, but the scene is impossible. The pirates wouldn't just dump out a whole keg of grog just to stick it over some soldier's head.
  9. Why do you choose dirty, stealing, pillaging pirates, Blue303? I am allied with redcoats. I like the color red.
  10. This looks great! Is this smaller house going to be part of a bigger MOC?
  11. Thanks for the advise (and Pic's) Joey! I'm on a relativly tight budget, and can't always make everything in real with the bricks I have. I use LDD, but that has it's constraints, mainly lack of hull pieces and decent masts. So yes, many of my ships are WIP's, but most will not be built due to lack of money and they are as completed as they will get. Next time I have a large amount of money on hand, i'll order the parts to HMS Conquest from bricklink. yes, behind the drawing I had there, maybe I could make a San Fransisco esque neighborhood. I built a couple buildings today, a small church and a maritime office. The church has some interior: I'll probably put a desk and some bookcases in the office:
  12. I once made an imperial ship from a pair of Brickbeard's Bounties. She was nowhere near wide enough. But she was beautiful
  13. This is good for a starting ship! it has a good color scheme, but it would not hurt to increase it's length by 1 hull piece. But it's looking good! I wonder what the rest of your fleet will look like.
  14. No, the one this october! Front Beast made that mistake 20 posts ago!
  15. Awesome! Can't wait for it! It'll be the first contest I plan to enter!
  16. Ok everyone, with my biggest ship, the HMS Conquest, almost completed as far as designs go, I decided to begin my newest project: A port that is capable of housing my biggest ship (my previous port was to small). So without further ado, I present: The Port of St. Brick Town Plan!(yes, this is a WIP like all my other projects): It's small now, but it will be modular and expansion will be possible. There will be small houses and shops, but larger buildings will include: A trading center A church Fort Matthew Naval Storehouse There will be a wharf surrounding the town, with a wall behind it. There will be a 2 gates into the town- one from the wharf and one from the shipyard (not pictured in drawing-will be right of town). The Gallery, when moderated. I'll post pictures of my buildings as I complete them. Wish me luck!
  17. Setting/year: 2030, the earth is becoming fertile again. it is 18 years after a comet strikes, and the sun has begun shining. Cause: Comet strikes in 2012, causing worldwide famine and disease. Governments fail to feed everyone, causing rebellions, civil strife, wars over food and good growing land. Area: Small suburb. Buildings: Town plaza, surrounded by small partially repaired buildings, in 3 blocks. this is surrounded by a 2 story makeshift wall. At one side of the plaza, a former school acts as a town hall. Outsude the walls are several small houses, a stable with animals, and farms. People: The wars are over, and our civilians are currently struggling to rebuild their lives. Scenes People farming, 2 men standing guard at the gate+3 patrolling the walls, a trader coming in with supplies, some people building and rebuilding various structures. This is a great idea, I can't wait to see how it comes together
  18. No, it hasn't, and that is what I planned on doing. I think it would look better like that.
  19. That's going to be a huge project, commodore. You have built quite alot already! I can't wait to see how your fort turns out!
  20. That is an excellent idea, you could turn quite a profit that way. But what I wanted to know was what set LEGO put cypress trees in.
  21. This is stunning! It's really beautiful, and the colorscheme looks great! All those details... Everything is so perfect! If all your buildings will be this be good, it's going to be a friken' awesome port!
  22. All your buildings look spectacular, I'll definitely use some of your techniques when building my new port! By the way, what set was that cypress tree featured in?
  23. Let's stop before we start another war!
  24. Yep! I think it would look better with a brickforge square shield and helm, but this looks good.
  25. Username: Admiral M Team: Redcoats Team Cpt: No, thanks. This is a great idea, hornbricker! I can't wait to see the gorey MOCs that we come up with!
