  1. Vig. 90b The curse of Admiral M's LDD WIP MOC's of Doom srikes again! And this time, it's with 3 new fort WIP's. I need to decide which format I should use for my port's central defence. It will be mounted on a 64x64 baseplate, and be flanked by 2 neighborhoods. For the purpose of not cluttering this thread with so many pictures as I usually do, I just pit teaser pics in the post. You can see the full gallery here. So , without further ado, I present; Fortress #1: Castle Fort (for more Pictures, see screenshots 178-183) Pros: It's square, and has a good hight for it's purpose, since my port's buildings will be mounted 2.33 studs above the baseplate. Provides many areas for cannons and soldiers to be placed. Ramp provides access to water. Cons: Wouldn't entirely fit on a 64x64 base, so there would be extra room. Fortress #2: Sloped Fort: (More pics at 184-185 and 190-195 Pros: Fits completely on a 64x64 baseplate. Room to mount many cannon. It's a realistic star(ish) fort. Cons: Slopes are wicked expensive nowadays. Fortress #3: Tower and Courtyard: (more pics at 186-189) Pros: Lots of room for interior in main tower. Lots of room in the courtyard for training, ect. Cons: Courtyard walls are thin, only one stud, and can only support 1 minifig (though that can be changed) Walls are not at an adequet hight to connect to the main town. The whole structure is 60x60, do isn't quite big enough. So, in your opinion, which is the nicest fort? Feel free to give comments and critisism, or post pictures of your own forts! Once again, you can see the full gallery here. (Could a mod add a poll to this thread? Thanks.)
  2. Egad! His fly is down! Yes, I agree, it's too tall. But now I know another way to make dresses!
  3. Ah, yes, that method looks good, but the planks only go one way.
  4. I know what he means. They're the plates you hide your treasure under in most of the old fortress sets (eldorado, ITP, Rock Island Refuge, Etc) I MOCed some figureheads for you, it really depends on the shape of your prow:
  5. I like your idea of a phoenix, I might try to make a figurehead to help you, but I'm sure you can find something of use on Classic-Pirates.com, or right here. Your stern looks fantastic, could you provide me a link to the version in LDD so I may steal it?
  6. Wow, nice work L40k, that really captures the essence of Post Apocalypse- It's really nothing but rubble. Great job on those stairs!
  7. I am an British Redcoat. I fight against bluecoats, though I have a treaty with the US. I am against pirates and enemy privateers. I, personally, am for flying in tresure chests
  8. Other than new pirate and soldier torsos, and new heads, here is what I would like: pearl silver and pearl bronze coins+pearl gold coins: would add more variety to treasures. old skeletons Bring back old shrub molds! Chrome gold and chrome silver cutlasses- would make you admiral, general or captian appear much more affluent and powerful. <-- See? Its shiny! New colored tricornes and new decorated bicornes and tricornes- would make your admiral/general/captian\'s hat much more fancy looking! New plumes, in white and pearl gold Wigs, to make aristocrat, governor and off duty admiral, general and captian figs Globes, more maps, compasses (even if it doesn\'t actually work) , what a great idea, Sir Wellington! a 4x4 stud mortar holder and a mortar barrel (you could make it shoot!) Bayonettes, which snap on the barrels of musketes small, narrow cannon barrel, for deck guns molded goats and pigs(1x3 studs) That's all I can think of for now, i'll add stuff in if I have any more ideas.
  9. Does that explain it?
  10. That looks spectacular! The interior is quite inspirational for me, and I'm sure it can help me. It really does look like the thing is destroyed, yet full of life. Nice job.
  11. Nice MOC! The terrain looks really nice on that one, but didn't the americans dig a trench-and-palisade defence, along with the Mississippi? Oh well, I'm being picky. Good MOC! Edit: PS: The officer getting shot in the right-center isn't me, is it? (The guy who's about to get trampled)
  12. Sorry, but I'm quite confused. I don't understand the SNOT work in the bow and stern. You lost me after step 3, you really started moving fast. It is probably because of my own ineptness to take on such a large and complex project as this, but is it in any way possible for you to slow down, just a tad, and then show me some more close up pictures of the way you built the stern, how you got the tilt in the cabin's back bay windows, how you incorperated the galleries, and how the whole thing sits on the stern. Its probably just me, because i've been spoilt by the piece by piece instruction provided by instruction manuals, but i'm hardly getting any of the pictures. Thanks for doing this, it's quite a project.
  13. Excellent! We can't wait to see it!
  14. That is a really cool idea! I vote for that one. It would be a bit difficult to judge, but if people could keep the thread spam free, I think it could be done!
  15. Hey SkinnyBoy, is spot 33 still open? I think that it is a good place for my MOC. Thanks! It was partly modeled after yours (well, the destroyed parts, anyway). I was thinking the same, the zombies might reach in and steal our corn ! I might add a wooden-and-steel palisade in front of it, but I like the basic design. Cool, good luck with that!
  16. Precisely! And here you have it: The whole folder on BS And about CAD and LDD designs, I believe they are plans, and not actual models.
  17. Hey, guys, I have a WIP that I would like to put in here, I was wondering if there was still a 32x32 spot left: It's a 3 story brick building, most of the floors have been blown apart, but the facade is still standing. I'll probably put some machine guns and makeshift floors in there as well. Then i'll add some spears and such. You may not hear from me until this weekend, I am going to be away.
  18. Market Street looks ok, but the courtyard might look a bit wierd in some layouts. So it's not an exclusive?
  19. If you need any inspiration in terms of wall design, you can check out my row of houses on page 3. I used some of those fence/gate pieces from the Agents set "Turbocar Chase". Is spot 33 still open? I was thinking I could put something there.
  20. Yes, I proposed a common wall design, like in EBCCB, and I think we need it. Jammiedodger, perhaps you could make your MOC look more like a destroyed building, and not like a cliff face.
  21. Sorry Eskallon, I don't think you can. I just realized that then those people with 32x23 baseplates would need heaps of 6x16 plates just to build the bases of their MOCs. So it would complicate things greatly. I don't have any customs, I wish I did, though. Who's Walter? Also, what is going to be placed in the blank areas between the town center and the normal houses?
  22. interesting method!
  23. I built a large(ish) truck, could be for supplies or weapons: I put large grid pieces on the backs of my buildings for added defence: And I put a gun turret on the 2nd floor of the house: United Brick, which square would you like?
  24. Most people cannot actually see the MOC. It would be good to resize the picture. If you can't, then you can take a picture that is farther away and crop it on paint. What base did you build it on?
  25. Well, we all have to use the same thing, and it would probably look better with a 16x16 baseplate. What were you planning to build?
