Well, since this one was so quiet, it's hard to judge. You, like most people, only used the day threads to vote, mostly, especially towards the end. I think Arjay keeps killing you because you're quiet. I guess getting more involved will stop that from happening. If you give people something to judge you on, it's easier to play them, earn their trust or prove yourself. Flying under the radar in game after game won't always work. Eventually, the strategy has to develop further. You lasted nine days in a cut-throat game, so you must've done something right. Unfortunately, I didn't see much game from you so I can't really critique further. The town never suspected you despite Arjay constantly trying to start suspicion around you. Not sure why, but that's a good sign.

Critique time! The Winners Cameron Crocodile - Carpenter played by Rufus Mason Role: 2nd Head monk, Inventor -I hardly have to say it. The town couldn't have won without you. You came close to death a couple of times and almost lost your mind in real life, but your dedication to solving the puzzle of it all was an enormous part of the town's victory in this game. I'm glad you didn't lose focus or freak out...too much...after the temple had been infiltrated. I was ready to kill you when you started to vote for CorneliusMurdock. I was, literally, quite insulted. I was afraid for CorneliusMurdock because there was the possibility that you would think he had caused the death of The Baker and his wife. In reality, he was the one mason you could trust 100%. The game was setup to wait a couple of days to warn you of temple infiltration, but to start the cycle of warnings on the day it was infiltrated. The frog even said "A clue is a clue not a giveaway," meaning the host is not going to make it that simple for you that the person you recruited the night before The Baker and his wife are killed would be the scum infiltrator! I could've reached through the computer and strangled you. Luckily for you, The Foog was on your side. Glad you were able to see what was going on and reverse the decision. You were the clear town leader in this after Def and Draggy were killed and you did a helluva job leading those who trusted you to a successful ending. And you solved some amazing puzzles! Although, there's a reason there's a panda in the last shot of the village. But honestly, getting the head monk action was a huge move for you. You continued to coordinate well after both times Dragonator was killed off. Dragonator is a great leader and it's hard to keep a side together after his loss. You did more than a fine job at it. Edgar Elephant - Fisherman played by WhiteFang Mason Role: Firefighter Yet another survival for Fangy! Great work. This is the most I've seen you put into a game in a while and it paid off. Way to talk your way out of a conviction on the first day. That was really strange the village turned on you like that. You were the first recruit into the masons and for some reason they got suspicious of you right away, so I'm not sure how much you were allowed to be involved after that. One thing I would watch is making sure you completely understand something before posting. I apologize for losing my patience with you a couple times. It can be frustrating when your Fanglish vs. English phenomenon kicks in, especially for me as a host. There were some things I tried to be open ended about that you stuck too very solidly one way and some things you took the exact opposite meaning of what I was trying to tell you. This is bound to happen and you take time to clarify it and have a lot of patience which is helpful. Overall, great game. Gilbert Goat - Schoolteacher played by Fugazi Mason Role: Treacherous lover paranoid bodyguard, Vigilante (tile) killer - It's The Foog! Dude, if we went to college together, I would totally be your drinking buddy. People would ask "What'd you do last night?" And I'd say, "I hung out with The Foog!" And they'd say, "Oh no, The Foog! That's trouble." And I'd say "The Foog!" And they'd say "Foooooog!" And I'd say "Foooooog!" And it would just go on like that for too long. How the megabluck did you survive this game? I make this messed-up role, Treacherous Lover Paranoid Bodyguard, that should just be a pawn killed off by day five. You're in love with the godfather so you protect her every night, unwittingly blocking every action that targets her. You also kill yourself if she dies, unless you vote for her. It doesn't take long to see that you should vote for her and you convince the town leader that you're not scum yourself. And you do it all so quietly, the rest of the village doesn't even have a chance to suspect you. You write a play, which is good, but I could kill you for putting Trent Rezner and Lady Gaga in the same room. I hate that Gaga thing. I admire her creativity and work ethic, but learn what music is, freak. Anyway, back to The Fooooooooog!!!! You guess the riddle that gets you the wand. And nobody knows you have because you log in as invisible. Way to guard against the metagamers! You beat Rufus by, honestly, a matter of seconds and Rufus sees the only other player online is def. They think def is lying about having the wand and that's probably another thing that gets him killed. But for some reason, you never use the wand! I'm watching Arjay explain to the scum that Rufus said you tried to kill Scouts but the wand didn't work and I keep checking your role PM to see if I misread it. I kept thinking "What is he doing with that wand? " It was confounding. I understand you thought 50/50 chance of working correctly meant it would kill you instead. That's a little disconcerting because you were obviously really concerned with getting on that survivor's list. I wish we all thought our team winning was more important, but we can't all have it my way. But then, the kicker is you pulled the town leader aside in the end and slapped him around. "Hey megablock," you said, "If CorneliusMurdock is the brown frog then why did Cara know about the Masons on day eight?" You saved the town. You saved the town from Rufus freaking out. But you saved the town and you saved me from having to create one extra day of pictures which would've had to have been delayed for dehydration issues. You are the unsung hero of the town this game, my friend. Go Foooooog!! Marcus Monkey - Apple Seller played by Inconspicuous Role: Bomb - You're the bomb! Why why why will we never see one go off? I think that's a good way to protect a player from being killed off in EB mafia: make them the bomb. We're destined not to see one detonate, in-game. Oh well, I'm glad you won this one after playing Werewolf so well only to lose in the end. You played a quiet game, but clearly a smart one. It's easy to just give up without a night action, but you made your vote count and obviously made the right friends behind the scenes. Congratulations on surviving. Portia Poodle - General Store Operator played by Cornelius Murdock Mason - You had to have had the equivalent of Rufus's whole game anxiety in one game day. Here's how it went, "Congratulations, you're a Mason and now we're going to kill you." You really did a great job at rallying who you needed to and finding the pieces and evidence that could prove to Rufus that he was making a mistake. It's nice to see someone dedicated to the game that cares enough to try and turn it around. That took a lot of work and energy and I appreciate seeing that. It's so easy to say, "Oh well, I'm dead..." than to work your megablocks off to stay alive. Way to fight for it. Well deserved win. Wendell Walrus - Librarian - The Village - gave his own life on Night 2. played by Stash2Sixx Win condition: use night action Role: One shot suicidal reviver - You didn't get to play much and I think you were hampered by real life responsibilities but your timing couldn't have been more perfect. People expect you to be "more proactive" according to your previous game play, so suspicion was growing around you quick. If you hadn't revived Dragonator, you would've simply been killed by Walter Kovacs and not won this one. So, everything you had to do, you did right! ______________________________________ The Deceased Villagers Bristol Bunny - Seamstress - The Village - convicted on Day 2. played by Bob the Construction Man - Um, Not too much to say because you were killed off quickly for a stupid ( ) reason. Sorry we lost you so soon. Brigit Bunny - Florist - The Village - murdered on Night 2. played by Sandy Role: Bodyguard - Hey, you were making the right friends and were on your way to a good game. You were too much of a threat to the scum and they knew you had targeted WhiteFang. Somebody told Zepher you were one of the people def saw targeting Fangy on night 1 when people were trying to figure out what the 3 people who targeted WhiteFang were doing. Just so you know, you were killed because you were a threat, not because you were protecting def. They came after you, not him. Lazlo Lion - Butcher - The Village - died mysteriously on Day 4. played by TinyPiesRUs Role: Role-blocker - The most valuable player with only one survival under his belt. You always have a night action and you're always killed prematurely. Like I said when you died, I think it's all pent up animosity over Witch Hunt. You may never survive another game. I hope you keep playing anyway. You're a good player. You talked your way out of being lynched and were enough of a threat to be taken out quickly by the scum. Benji Bulldog - Hat Maker - The Village - murdered on Night 4. played by Walter Kovacs Role: Vigilante killer - As I said earlier, you were an excellent vigilante despite your own view of it. People were suspicious of Stash and he was a good choice for target, even if it wasn't right. You took out Shadows and would've taken out Quarry if it hadn't been for a stupid coin. It says something that the scum removed you, not because they thought you had a night action, but because they sensed that too many people trusted you. You were speaking up in thread and seemed to have trust behind the scenes, so well played. Good for you. Let's see you survive one soon! Pennie Pig - Spring Haven Mayor - The Village - murdered on Night 4. played by Eskallon Role: Protector - They thought you were the investigator! Sorry to lose you so quickly. You were protecting the in-crowd...again...so you contacted the right players and they trusted you. You're always underestimated but you know how to play behind the scenes. Too bad the scum knew you had a night action or you would've last longer. You were a good candidate for flying under the radar in this one. Nice work, too short of a game. Kenda Cat - Baker - The Village - murdered on Night 5. played by I Scream Clone Role: Tracker - Yay! I Scream Clone is back. What I like about how you play is that you have a trusted core group behind the scenes but you don't let them decide who you will use your action on. You made some good choices, regardless of the fact that I had to change my expectations compared to what I was reading the Masons thought you would do. Sorry this game ended early for you. The scum got the night action folk quickly. I would've liked to have seen you last longer, especially since it's been a while since I've seen you play. Hope you had fun. You were doing a great job. Helen Hippo - Cook - The Village - murdered on night 2 and convicted on Day 6. played by def Role: Watcher - Oh no! A stressful game for you this time. That was the hardest part of this game was watching you get framed. I knew you were going through a lot and didn't want to see you pushed over the edge. We've had some private conversations about it so I'll leave most of that out. I understand what you were going through. Without knowing that, you seemed like a steam train in this game. You and I had recently had a discussion about how I can sometimes be insulting to newer players during games. Then, I saw you in this game. You insulted all during this game. I know it was due to outside stress but I was very surprised before I realized what was going on. You insulted even your allies. Anyone who disagreed with you got their intelligence insulted. It's a very odd tactic. Again, I know it was all the stress, but from Flitwick on one end to Shadows on the other, the game became your punching bag. I would've preferred you going out quietly in the night, but you had to be framed instead. It made me uneasy. That being said, you handled that situation very well. You took the circumstances very graciously. You threw out some more insults, even kicking Flitwick again, but I digress about all of that... I'm impressed that you stuck out the game through several earthquakes. I wish I would've been more receptive to your requests to step out. I realized after how stressed out you were and how it affected your game. I'm happy you stayed in and I think it showed a great deal of strength on your part. I would've liked to see how your leadership would've been different under different circumstances. It would've been great to see how you make it to the end of the game and see how the lack of stress would've loosened up your game. Looking forward to the next game with you. I really hope we're on the same side. Booker Bear - Garbage Man - The Village - murdered on Nights 1 & 7. played by Dragonator Role: 1st head monk -Oh Draggy!! Will you never learn? Blabbing about your role in IRC will only get you killed. Well, at least you got revived. Too bad the scum killed you too. As always, you led very well in this game. You should've listened to Rick and Rufus that the cycle of clues started when Arjay was recruited, but nobody's perfect. I was glad to get to see you play this one. If you'd have been killed on night one in two games in a row, I think that would've bee pretty boring. Shadows had good reason, but it was good to see you back. You have great organizational and leadership skills. You're always a formidable enemy and that makes you a threat. I like that you were fighting for the team, refusing protection for the better target. It takes risk-takers to forward the cause of the team. Didn't pay off for you and that damn quarter hates you. But, the town couldn't have won this without your leadership. Becka Bulldog - Beautician - The Village - murdered on Night 7. played by Rick Role: Two shot reviver - My rock and co-host! I wish you, Rufus and I could go play cards and drink with friends on weekends! I'm so sick of seeing you killed in these games. At least you had a good love story this time. You prove again and again what a good player you are. You know how to keep the panicky calm and you even humor me, and I imagine Rufus too, and my need to constantly discuss the game. The scum can't stand you. They took you out because you're "too smart for your own good" and they quickly adjust it to "their own good." You have a good knack for coordinating actions and reading people. You're also a good strategist and keep the game interesting and fun. I hope to see you survive one soon. You deserve it! The town couldn't have won this one without you. You did a great job leading the way towards victory. Mindy Mouse - Accountant - Unknown Affiliation - convicted on Day 8. played by Professor Flitwick - Yay Dr. Fuckwit! I'm very impressed that you handled that situation so graciously. It takes a lot to turn the other cheek and it's the smartest way to handle an online attack. I'm glad you were able to give def the benefit of the doubt. He's a great guy who was in a bad and stressful situation and I'm glad you had the wisdom to see it. I thought your theory about def being scum, burning his own house down to revive himself so people trust him was creative and clever. Even far-fetched ideas need to be explored as EB mafia games get more and more complicated. The scum loved your theory anyway. I think the insults affected your game a little bit even if you did take them well. I thought the Fuckwit comment was funny so I started putting Mindy looking off in random directions in the pictures. I thought it'd be funny if she was a fuckwit and looked away from the action. I always forget that being funny leads to death. People thought those were clues and that your "odd behavior" in pictures" meant you were scum. So, it's partially my fault you were robbed of another victory, but mostly Arjay's. Best of luck in the future. Horace Horse - Blacksmith - The Village - murdered on Night 9. played by iamded - I don't know why Arjay wanted you out of there, but he got his wish. I enjoyed your night actions that was my favorites part of the game: And then you forget anyway: After this you became a drug addict for the rest of the game: And since Arjay burns you to death: Well, the scum came after you because they wanted to take out a "def supporter." Too bad for them you were a paranoid gun owner. Too bad for the town the freakin' 50/50 protection works and Scouts lives. You did a nice job making them believe you could use the bag again. They figure it out, after a couple of days, that you are the paranoid gun owner, but you successfully stay alive until the very end. That kind of sucked. You were very close and I had a lot of fun with you in this game. Wish you could've made it. Gabby Goat - Dairy Operator - The Village - murdered on Night 9. played by Ricecracker - Well, in a game where it was mostly played by PM you didn't send or receive any PMs... so, I guess that sums up your game. If you'd have survived by doing nothing, I suppose that would've been pretty annoying for the likes of def, Draggy & Rick who were working doggedly for town victory. I'd pick on you more if it weren't for the fact that you're focusing on making the Classic-Town place a phenomenal site to visit. I love you for that! It looks incredible, so keep up the good work and don't worry about mafia games. ______________________________________ The Demon Legion Lauren Lamb - Gardener - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 3. played by Zepher Role: Roleblocker - You've been waiting for this, huh? Here's my critique of you. The first note I write is about you. On day one I say "Zepher panics three steps ahead." Meaning you spend so much time foreshadowing what could happen and freaking out about the possibilities that you don't analyze the current situation closely enough. But you play harder than almost anyone. I appreciate the most about your game, that you play for your team to win, never to survive. It seems like you could care less about making that survivors list and that's a great person to have on your team. You remain remarkably calm and can really think like a townie when posting. You deflect suspicion really well, even though you had spread several lies. I felt responsible about your quick conviction since I wrote 24 instead of 48 hours to reach a conviction. Luckily, you had spread too many lies at that point to keep living and it wasn't really my fault. Glad you got a good scum role after thinking you had squandered your Werewolf role. I like watching you play. You're fun and very skilled. Sheldon Sheepdog - Toy Maker - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 5. played by Quarryman Role: Night killer (Obliteration Curse) - I'd like to see your A game again. I liked that you made an effort this time. You were trying to talk more in thread, you were poking around behind the scenes. It was definitely a different game for you than the last two. For some reason, people still think you're quiet. Meta-gamers. Where I didn't see an A-game was the way you panicked after the tracker saw you targeting Kovacs. It seemed like you took the easy way out and said "The picture screwed me, OK I'll say paranoid wand owner," and it was a weak claim that you didn't give much time to think about. Honestly, I think you're a little too apathetic towards the game. Yes, it's just a game, but some people are playing hard and put a lot into it. I am impressed that your self-evaluation points more blame at yourself than my pictures. It's a change from you bio that always blames somebody else for your losses. I love you as a host and mostly as a player. Honestly, Rufus set his alarm for 5:00 am to answer a riddle. I know you won't do that, but if you'd put in similar efforts in other areas, you have the skill to kick megablocks in these games. Come back, Quarry! Cara Cow - Doctor - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 7. played by badboytje88 Role: Godfather, Night killer (poisoner) Wow, this was so interesting to watch you in this role. It was a huge jump for you, and you did good with it. Not great, but good. Plenty of room for improvement. I've made some comments already and haven't heard any responses in the thread, so I hope you're taking the criticism OK. Just remember, it's to help you improve and we all know it's a game. All EB mafia players forgive. We will never forget, though! You did a good job roleclaiming to WhiteFang. Telling him about your actual ability to investigate for the arsonist was smart because you could give him verifiable results. Also, that was his role in the first Baritones! The only mistake you made with this was your claims about who you investigated. Why did you say you investigated Draggy? That was before they realized the action had been passed on so he would've had to kill himself. Many people have mentioned how you mentioning the masons clued the town into Arjay being the final scum. That's a big oops. Sorry to say so. I will say I think it was due to your vacation. On the scum writeboard you clearly misunderstood everything Arjay had just said. You thought the masons were a third faction that Arjay couldn't be recruited into, which was wrong on both counts. They tried to clarify with you and the next post was a farewell to vacation. You came back from vacation to being lynched and thought you were doing your team a favor by outing the "third faction" but I don't think you ever read the clarifying posts. So, in the future, I recommend staying calm and making sure you understand exactly what's going on before posting. I hope you know you did a good job despite those mistakes, and I hope you know the EB mafia family still loves you. Live and learn! Bruno Bear - Watch Maker - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 9. played by Scouts Role: Night killer (Shapeshifter crow with sickle) - You made it so far again! How do you do it with your "do dee do" and faces?? Well, you're skilled at this and you're excited about your team. You were very active which I'm thankful for because it gave me something to do. One piece of advice: When you have Arjay on your team, talk less and listen to him more. I have so many notes about "Arjay came up with a great plan...Scouts came in, ignored it and it got changed somehow." Honestly, there were a couple of moves that Arjay suggested that would've been brilliant. You seemed to come onto the writeboard and just blow past his plans and make up one of your own. The other would follow you and Arjay would have to come back in and fix it as best he could. If you guys would've listened to Arjay every time you probably would've won. Take that for being unbalanced. You are an excellent player, but in the future try to get your team more cohesive. You had great immediate action plans, but what you lack is an overall strategy. You're close to being scary scum. Great work. Kaley Cat - Mill Operator - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 10 played by Lord Arjay Role: Ninja Jack-of-all-trades Usurper - You're my favorite mafia player ever. Nobody else needs to say it anymore, you're good in whatever role you get. This one was a little tailored towards your ilk. Randomly selected, so very scary it went to you-the one who could do the most damage with it. Not much to say. Interested to hear of what you thought of the game mechanics since they hinged so wildly around you. Did it affect your game at all the way your actions weren't fully revealed until they were actually used? Framer, Ninja? One piece of advice I'll frame as a question: do you feel like you lead your team? Because I think this scum team could've used some more solid leadership. I know you have the skill, but I didn't really see you take the initiative to lead and put together a plan for conquest. You were somewhat quiet on the writeboard, maybe it's because you were so busy, but sometimes I even missed you revealing info to your team mates that they definitely missed. Your posts were sometimes run over and your plans were sometimes ignored and you didn't do much to establish yourself as the one to listen to. You got them to go your way most of the time but, I don't know, it wasn't really a case of Arjay leads the scum in a shifty horrifyingly covert operation. Your contact with the town behind the scenes is phenomenal. You can play your game very strong. I think next time I randomly pick you as a scummie, I'm going to purposely add the win condition of you have to have at least two other scum live with you to the end. I'd just want to see how your game would change. ______________________________________ Third-party Felix Fox - Farmer - Third-party- murdered on Night 3 and convicted on Day 4. played by Shadows Role: The Arsonist, later converted to Demon Legion - God, you suck! Killed five times in one game. Why do you even bother anymore? Were you on your way to a good game or something? Did the resurrection totally megabluck you over? Did you have to keep correcting the host who kept spelling it ressurections yet yelled at everyone else for misspellings and bad grammar? Did everyone you kill come back to life and get you killed? Pfft... Nice excuses. I was excited about you getting this role and what's worse, considering how it turned out, so were you. You were doing well! I ruined three games in a row for you. Will you ever get to play again? The def/Shadows rivalry is my new favorite. It's funny that it kind of heals our wounds, but I can't help but feel replaced. Oh well, maybe in the next game I'll be town and you and def will both be godfathers of two scum factions. That'd be awesome...but really obvious now that I've said it. Some day we'll get through a game together again...maybe even as town, though that's highly unlikely.

To make posting and reading more enjoyable...

Nice that you are honest about this. Keep in mind the more automated things get, the less likely people are to use their brains and the lack of challenge leads to Alzheimer's and other neurological disorders later in life. But, we'll make sure you don't have to put too much effort into posting pics & links in the mean time! -
I pronounce your screename "Foo-Gah-Zee" Or Foog for short. Now that you have kicked megablocks in The Forest, you are The Foog. And I did realize it spells goof in reverse, which is hilarious. I accidentally spell goof everytime I try to type Foog.
-
Here's a hint, though: Scum: Town: Original Arsonist:
-
Correct, sorry. I will get to that tomorrow when I write critiques. To update the first post I have to go into the board software and increase the number of pictures allowed in a single post.
-
But, you didn't score one. Bob was town.
-
I had pre-flipped the coin and pulled your first tile. Rufus would've been protected and your first wand kill would've been a tan tile/joke fail. I'd like to get back in line. I love hosting. Baritones 3, Forest 2, some new concept? Don't know...
-
No, no. The Foog is my new hero.
-
I took double sets many days. My favorite was this set, when somebody peeked ahead at the pictures on my server: This was meant as a "megabluck you" to peekers. I meant to do it every day but time didn't really allow. I had a great false ending prepared too to throw people off. One where Rufus was the final scum mastermind and slit everyone's throat. Stupid dehydration stopped that one from coming to light... I laughed really hard when I took these photos. Highlight of my hosting experience. Coming up... Critiques and why I love The Foog! IRC... It got Draggy killed on Day 1. Keep mafia out of IRC kids...
-
It was my first time using one in a game and I forgot to cross-reference it with blocked actions due to time zones/didn't realize the blocked shouldn't be seen targeting. Tracker, watcher, tomato, tomoto... Sorry this caused you troubles. I fully admit to being a doofus when it came to this. If I had realized I had already given you Shadows targeting you when he was blocked, I would've kept consistent and told you WhiteFang had targeted Draggy the night that WhiteFang was blocked. Grrr, I'm annoyed with myself on this one. I really don't like that at all... Sorry, def. I blame most of this on myself and give you a paranthetical inconsistency. It's arguable, I admit that. Your night action results in my game were definitely inconsistent. No arguing that. *bangs head against wall* I hate making a mistake as a host.
-
Oh crap. I did that twice. I gave def results of someone who was blocked. When it came down to it, it was a huge help to the village. He knew Shadows had targeted him. For some reason I thought the tracker would magically be able to see people's intent. That's why he saw WhiteFang target Draggy even though WhiteFang was blocked. It was a goofy mistake on my part. Def asked for help because the masons didn't believe he wasn't making up his night action results. I did my best to clarify without confirming def for them. I didn't know how far to step in there. I wanted to be fair to the scum who had framed him and help def out however I could. So, I told Draggy the bucket of water hitting him in the opening was a mistake. That was another thing with this game, the time zones hampered it more than any recent game. That night where WhiteFang was blocked, I didn't get the night actions in until after I'd written the day thread. There were sometimes 20 hours between getting night actions from people whose actions depended on eachother. Add the revivals and janitor on top of it and I had to let Rick or Arjay know who was killed and if they wanted to revive or sweep them up. Yikes! Well, part of me forgot to change the night actions and the day thread after Fangy was blocked and the other part of me wanted to tell def who was targeted even if they're blocked. I realize now a tracker should not be able to see that. Sorry, def.
-
The reason there were two blacked out people was because the other Demon Legion member had been janitored and letting people know who that was would've undone some of the scum's work. I realized in this game how easy it is to confuse people with simple jokes and pictures. Let's discuss why Bob the Construction Man was voted out: the arsonist was using a "carrot" and Bristol was a bunny.
-
I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Sorry. We can talk about it more in private if you like. You're a fantastic host, you know I think that. Me wubs you! I'll get to it, in the individual critiques, but you getting voted out was one of the hardest things to go through, emotionally, in this game. Knowing what you were going through, watching you get framed, sucked. Either way, I'm happy to answer any inconsitencies you see. I know you wanted to be told who killed you the night you watched yourself and Shadows killed you, but here's how I handled the night actions of the dead. All action roles were successful, so killers, blockers, protectors all succeeded even if they were night killed. Informative roles were not successful, because the dead don't need to know information they shouldn't be passing on. If you investigate somebody and are dead in the morning, but I send you the result anyway, it's too tempting to PM the living with the info. That is why I didn't give any night action results for informative roles consistently throughout the game. Anyway, the reason I stopped by was to answer real quick what Inconspicuous's role was. He was the bomb! And again, we had a game where the bomb didn't go off! If someone tried to kill Inky at night they both would have exploded! If he'd have been voted out, he and the first person who voted for him would've exploded! That's why the "accusers" (the first two people who voted for anybody) always accompanied the convicted.
-
Um, wow. You really didn't read the earlier threads: I will do this Wednesday night. I have other EB work I've been neglecting and other real life obligations I need to tend to. My health problem turned out to be heat exhaustion and dehydration. I didn't realize how much dehydration hurt. My fault for staying out in the sun too long and not drinking enough water. My body is still recovering but at least now I'm able to stay awake... No, people, stop. What are you talking about, Fangy? Walter and Esky were killed before Arjay was recruited. I remember this causing a lot of paranoia, but the scum just had a lucky night. They actually thought Esky was the investigator and thought that too many people trusted Kovacs. Kovacs has referred to himself as an unsuccessful vigilante and I disagree with him there. He chose to kill Stash who, despite being already dead, was a good choice. He was playing differently than he usually does and had aroused a lot of suspicion. Many townies suspected him. He also chose to kill Quarryman, which was spot on because he was scum. If that doesn't make you feel better, Kovacs, compare yourself to Fugazi who wouldn't even aim the wand.

I appreciate your honesty very much. However, I have a different opinion about why the scum lost. I think the town players were just as strong as the night actions. They really had you guys lined up before any of the night actions became revealed. Obviously, some of those players had been resurrected , but outside of Draggy and def, Rick and Rufus were just as prepared to clean up. And you guys had more than just the 50/50 protection. You had Arjay who couldn't be killed at night and badboy who was protected every night. Those two scum were undetectable. And with as much as Arjay could get away with, you had the power to keep confusing them and that's the strongest tool you have as scum. A confused town is such a solid tool for scum. This game was incredibly close and could've easily gone either way. There were only five players left in the end. Well, six. I will definitely keep your concerns in mind for the next time I host, though. Thanks.

I do believe it's only fair for me to start with analyzing myself as a host: Resurrections First of all, no more resurrections. I realized that pretty quickly that it's too much of a game changer. Somebody commented that those revived were already confirmed town, though, and that's completely false. Dragonator had been confirmed town, but def and Shadows were both revived before the players or even the person doing the reviving knew their affiliation. Why were there two revivers? I don't even know any more. Here's the interesting thing. I had so much time to prepare and was so ready to start this, which was a first for me. But that excess time let my creativity take over and I just kept adding roles. Treacherous lover paranoid bodyguard anyone? My original intent was to make this game so simple and just have basic roles that people would freak out thinking it was complicated and make a mess out of the simplicity. Anyway, I've wanted to have a reviver for quite some time. Rick's role (Never Gonna Give You Up) shouldn't have been called a reviver and he shouldn't have had a resurrection balm. He should've been some sort of doctor. That role is based off the witch doctor from Werewolf, the party game. In that game, on which mafia is based, there's a witch doctor who gets two saves. The host tells the witch doctor who the Werewolf killed and the witch doctor gets a chance to save that person. I love that role and really wanted it to be part of the next game I hosted. Well, I'll never do that again. Why add another reviver in Stash? I don't remember my reasoning, but I liked the idea of someone sacrificing themselves to bring back a player the game needed, which is exactly what Stash did. Everyone was paranoid of Stash and he was targeted to be killed the night he used his night action, so he pulled Dragonator, a proven leader and confirmed Villager back into the game. Stash's win condition was that he had to use his night action to win. I don't like resurrections after watching them play out. They totally screwed Shadows who could've had an awesome game had it not been for all the people he killed coming back to life. And they just swung the balance to the town so early. I thought the town would use them near the end, to gain some balance back if they were starting to falter. But Rick made a good call bringing def back. That was a strong move, even if it was early in the game. The resurrections also acted as a metagaming failsafe. I wanted there to be a way to bring someone back if it was obvious they were a victim of metagaming. Complications What the hell? I was even banging my head against the wall trying to coordinate all of these ducked up night actions. Wow! As I stated earlier, I meant for this game to be simple. I didn't realize how complicated I had made it until the first night's actions came in. I thought All-Stars would freak out at a simple game. I thought that would be funny to watch. How did I not see how complicated I had made it? I am kind of glad it turned out this way, though. All-Stars play hard and there was a ton of meta-gaming. And even with the heavy complications, the town had the scum figured out pretty quickly. They basically had them lined up and were poised to pick them off one by one. Scum was removed all by voting in this game. That really says something. On night 6, the town targeted Arjay and badboy to confirm their affiliation and blocked Scouts. Those were the three remaining scum and had it not been for the complicated game mechanics they would've taken them out one by one. The town knew exactly what was going on from the beginning. Part of that was metagaming mixed with random role assignment. Most of the roles went to EB mafia "names." None of the quieter players had roles except for Eskallon and badboy. So, the people who are usually scrutinized were the people with the night actions. So, it was easy to find out who was doing what quickly. And without enough vanilla townies, it was easy to confirm roleclaims. Like Werewolf, almost everyone had a night action. This works against the scum too much, in my opinion. Random role selection In my opinion there's no other way to do it. However, in this game, the role selection was so strange! But, that's how random works. The first role I pick is the arsonist and it's Shadows. That's just ridiculous. He was excited about the role and I feel so bad about how it ended for him. Srupid resurrections... The second role I pick is the firefighter and it's WhiteFang. He was the firefighter in the first Baritones! I almost throw both names back but realize that wouldn't be random selection if I was going to make judgment calls. Badboy is the godfather. This was interesting as badboy isn't the most seasoned "all-star" at this point and it was his first scum role. He did all right. There were some mistakes made, though. I'll discuss that later. Overall, great job with your first big role, badboy! Lord Arjay is selected as the Ninja Jack-of-All-Trades. All I could think was "May God be with the town." Balance Here's the most important analysis I can do of my own hosting and that's how I tried to set the balance. There were so many roles and so many that were really powerful roles that the balance swung violently often. The Village The Village has no investigator. Why? Because they have the masons. The head monk (Dragonator at first, then Rufus) can recruit other members into the Masonic Temple. This is for confirmation of their allegiance. Once in the Temple, members can swap night actions. There is also an inventor that can make four objects: A knife that kills, a chain that blocks, a lock that protects (not against fire) and an orb that investigates. So there are two ways the town can still investigate. The masons are role confirming so it's more powerful than an investigator and they can use the orbs to investigate others. All members of the Temple have 50/50 protection. This is decided by a coin flip that never works for the masons. Will I use coin flips again? Yes. It's better to have a coin flip protection than none. This is a very powerful town action. If they successfully recruit a townie every night, they have a solid block that the scum can hardly beat. If there are ten players left, three scum and seven masons, the masons know who they have to take out. So, I have to counter this with a strong scum team. How did I not realize simplicity had fled? In addition, the town has a vigilante, a protector, a bodyguard, a blocker and a watcher and a tracker. Wow, the watcher and tracker did some damage. I will probably not allow the town to have both again. There are also, of course, two revivers. The Demon Legion They also have 50/50 protection which works for them every time. They have a Jack-of-all-trades, who doesn't even know his own powers until he uses them. Why the hell did I do this? I don't even remember. Again, the result of having too much time and letting creativity take over my original plan. Arjay has an action called The Sandman. There are no clues in the pictures until Day 9. People are late because Arjay is making them late. This is the framer action. He doesn't know this until it actually makes a difference. If I remember correctly, it was so they would know an investigation had been performed on the person framed. I also remember thinking that if they knew what these actions did they would use them differently. So, it was a powerful action, somewhat weakened by not knowing what their full potential was. I'm not sure how this affected the game and don't know if I'll use it again. They are told they have a kidnapping action. They don't know that it hijacks the night action until they use it on Rick and get his resurrecting balm. When I decided to use the hijacker I didn't imagine that the resurrecting balm would be hijacked. That was quite hilarious. I was also going to make it a vote hijacking, and just double Arjay's vote, but considering the way people count votes around here, I figured that was too easy of a giveaway. In addition, they have three night kill MOs that they can swap around. They can convert the serial killer, which gives them two night kills, they can swap around night actions when a scum is killed and the godfather can investigate to find the arsonist, which later changes to being able to see who people target. That way they can find night actions without having to infiltrate. This gives the scum two way to get into the temple. One is Arjay, he's a ninja so he appears town in "investigations" and won't be seen out by watcher or tracker and can't be killed at night. The other if they frame one of their own the night Rufus recruits them. I believe I told Rufus at one point the only way they could be infiltrated was if a member is recruited. The scum can only recruit Shadows, so I was just letting him know it was possible. If he knew there was a framer or a ninja, that would spoil the scum's fun. Badboy also has a bodyguard. Fugazi is the treacherous lover paranoid bodyguard. He's in love with Cara and protects her every night. He has a 50/50 chance of being killed himself, but if he survives he sees the identity of the attacker. He is told from the beginning that "he believes" Cara could never do any evil. When Rufus tries to investigate badboy, he is told he is "pretty sure" that Rufus was trying to kill her. He blocks anybody who tries to use any night action on Cara. I figured this was a pretty easy way to keep the godfather protected yet give the town a way to find her. They figure it out the first time someone uses a night action on her. The reason the first investigation didn't work is because it was blocked by the scum. It never gets a chance to go through Fugazi. Additionally, Fugazi was to kill himself if Cara is killed or lynched, unless he votes for her himself. This is how I intended to balance the game. Um...it's sheer luck that it ended up balanced. Looking at what each side is capable of, one side could've easily steamrolled the other had it gone any differently. Riddles Riddles were necessary to pass on the two nights actions that could be passed on for the town. The vigilante and head mason were the only two night actions that could be. The head mason wouldn't have been passed on twice and the vigilante action was passed on with only a 50/50 percent chance of working. If Fugazi had ever used it, it would've been one of my favorite night actions. I had a cup of ten LEGO tiles, 5 red, four tan and 1 black. If I drew a red tile, the kill was successful, if I drew a tan tile, something comical happened, like it shot a turkey and if I drew the black tile, it killed Fugazi instead. Anyway, if a scum had answered the riddles they would've kept the night action from being re-distributed. However, the scum can't solve riddles for their lives. I found the question a day, borrowed from def's Bloodbrick, necessary to help the town clarify the complications. It's one thing to be that confused and try to test theories every night, but that can be maddening. So, I wanted to be able to clarify what they were seeing through game mechanics. I would only use this in a complicated game such as this. I'm OK with riddles being used, it gives people something to do and lets people play who aren't in the inside of the PM block. Clues I have to hold off on individual player analysis, because I have a lot to do, plus take a nap. But I thought I'd point out those clues that I added on Day 9. All the true masons fell down. In Marcellus's dream, the town is celebrating their victory by raising their hands in the air...except for Scouts and Arjay. Scouts and Arjay are the only two that can hold in the emotion enough to console other people. Also, on this day, the frog says "A clue is a clue not a giveaway" he is saying that if you think the infiltrator is CorneliusMurdock then you are insulting the host. And a special thanks to Rick, for also being my rock and co-host after his death. I need to discuss things with someone so I bounced everything off of him. It's just like every other mafia game I've played recently. Have to talk to Rick at least once every five minutes. Thanks for helping me keep my head on straight!

Anyone can post in this thread. Excellent game, everyone! The villagers of Spring Haven had reached a conviction quite early and they were ready to get on with the lynching. Kaley Cat's accusers brought her forward but, without the gallows, they were not sure what to do. "Oh dear." Kaley Cat said, "How sad that my life has come to an end. I do not deserve such a cruel fate." Suddenly, fire burst out of her hands. "Now you will all pay for your treachery." Kaley bellowed in the voice of a devil. A bucket of water came flying from behind her and the flames were extinguished. Edgar Elephant had returned to help save them from the final member of The Demon Legion. "Edgar, be careful!" Portia cried. But, it was too late. The loyal elephant was knocked off of his feet by a burst of flames. Marcus Monkey suddenly felt sick. After a couple of burps, he regurgitated an apple. It had been given to him by The Baker and his wife. He had accidentally left it with his stock of apples and eaten it. He assumed its reappearance meant it was time to use it. He threw it at Kaley Cat... ...and the explosion momentarily knocked her off her feet. Cameron Crocodile brought out his magic gift he had received from The Baker and his wife. It was a special box that could invent objects to use to fight evil. Cameron produced a chain from the box and threw it at Kaley, wrapping her up. Cameron then produced a knife from the box and went to slit Kaley's throat but Kaley Cat was an evil ninja and a simple knife wasn't enough to kill her. She shot fire at Cameron Crocodile. The fire scorched his hand and he dropped the knife. Cameron Crocodile produced another gift The Baker's wife had given him after Booker Bear died...the first time. The bright blue orb actually megablocking worked and created a protective field around the remaining villagers. Gilbert Goat finally got over his fear of the wand he had received and aimed it at Kaley Cat... ...and blew her scummy megablocks to bits! All that was left of Kaley Cat was a scummy pile of bones! The demon creature appeared and extracted Kaley's soul. "We're free!" Marcellus the Monk cried! "The Book of the Demon Legion said the blood of the evil would satisfy the creature and free our town from its evil!" The demon creature responded by roaring a stench-filled howl that emanated from the very depths of hell. It didn't seem very likely that it was satisfied. In a flash of light, Daxia appeared. She wasn't very happy, although she looked, at least, slightly happy. "Noooooo!!!!" She cried, "My precious Demon Legion!" "You hideously happy and adorable nuisances will pay for this!" Daxia sneered at them. Daxia brought lightning down from the skies and wrapped it around Cameron Crocodile's blue orb. She couldn't destroy it... ...but she temporarily moved it out of Cameron Crocodile's reach. "You cannot harm us..." Marcellus the Monk began, holding up the vial he had received from The Baker and his wife, but he was cut short. Daxia brought another bolt of lightning down and shocked Marcellus the Monk, knocking the vial out of his hands. Daxia threw Marcellus's body across the village square, heaving him directly into the trash can. "Cameron, we need that orb!" Portia cried. "Crocodiles can't climb trees." Cameron explained. "Neither can poodles." Portia stated. "Elephants can't." Edgar said. "Goats might be able to but I doubt it." Gilbert said. "Look at me!" Marcus cried, "I get to be useful!" As Marcus began climbing the tree, Portia retrieved the magic vial. Daxia sent a lightning bolt knocking Portia into Marcus's apple cart. Edgar Elephant grabbed the vial and ran. Daxia sent another bolt after him, slamming him into the door of the bakery. Gilbert Goat went to grab the vial and was instantly enveloped in lightning. Daxia threw him into the founatin. Marcus Monkey jumped out of the tree, using the demon creature to break his fall. But, Daxia was on him quickly... ...and slammed him through the front door of Portia's General Store. "The Baker and his wife made a sacrifice for you sniveling, creepy little animals and you didn't even know how to use it." Daxia laughed, "What a shame that their sacrifice will be for nothing." Daxia was momentarily distracted by an odd glowing powder that was riding the gentle breezes into the village square. Daxia found herself surrounded by the odd glowing powder. It soon overcame her. She began to vanish before their eyes! And as she did, someone else began to appear. It was Wendell Walrus! The gift of his life and his love for The Village had saved them all from Daxia's evil! By the time Wendell Walrus had completely returned, there was no trace of the evil Daxia. The surviving members of the town took a moment to take in the fact that they had defeated the evil. Congratulations, survivors! (Rufus, CorneliusMurdock, WhiteFang, Inconspicuous, Fugazi and Stash2Sixx) That moment was interrupted by another roar from the demon creature. Marcellus the Monk woke up just in time to see the demon creature attacking again. He grabbed the vial The Baker and his wife had left... ...and threw it into the demon creature's gaping maw. The demon creature froze and a bright white light came from deep within it. Strange ethereal figures danced out of the demon creature's mouth. They were the souls of the dead villagers, and they were free from the clutches of hell! The entire village had won the battle against evil! Even all of Shadows's dead characters and the people from the confirmation thread were restored to life! The souls of the members of The Demon Legion were dark and greedy. Although influenced by the evil Daxia, they had chose their path towards evil ... ... and subsequently went to hell. The souls of The Baker and his wife appeared for a moment to say goodbye to their happy and adorable friends. "We couldn't let our battle with Daxia ensare the innocent souls of you happy and adorable creatures." The Baker's wife explained. "We had a wonderful life," The Baker continued, "Most of it revolved around stopping Daxia from taking over the world. But we experienced true happiness in our experiences with you, the villagers of Spring Haven." The villagers thanked The Baker and his wife and tried to hug them... ...but they couldn't quite figure out how. The Baker and his wife disappeared as they continued on life's next great journey. Congratulations Town! Winners of the first EB Mafia All-Stars game! Epilogue It had been several weeks since the horrors of The Demon Legion had ended. Everyone was excited because Cameron Crocodile was unveiling a monument to honor a true hero of their brush with evil. The village of Spring Haven wouldn't forget it's true heroes. They had erected a statue to the towniest of town... ...The Spontaneous Combustion Tree Stump!! "Hooray!" Shouted the crowd. That night Mindy Mouse and Bristol Bunny were at Marcus Monkey's apple cart, discussing the fine art of applesauce and the intricacies of being sluts... ...when a terrible scream rang throughout the square. But, it was only the pleasured screams of Kenda Cat and Portia Poodle as Cameron Crocodile and Horace Horse compared the size of their wieners. The silence was soon broken again by a piercing shriek. But it was only the offended shriek of Brigit Bunny after Edgar Elephant had gotten his long trunk too close to her flower. Benji Bulldog had spent a long stint being dead and was determined to make up for it by sniffing as much megablocks as he could. But, then a great moan filled the town square... ...but it was only Booker Bear and Becka Bulldog making love. Suddenly a chilling scream pierced the night air... ...but it was only the terror screams of Helen Hippo... ...as her home was, once again, burned to the ground by the Shadowy demon spirit of Felix Fox... ______________________________________ The Winners Cameron Crocodile - Carpenter played by Rufus Mason Role: 2nd Head monk, Inventor Edgar Elephant - Fisherman played by WhiteFang Mason Role: Firefighter Gilbert Goat - Schoolteacher played by Fugazi Mason Role: Treacherous lover paranoid bodyguard, Vigilante (tile) killer Marcus Monkey - Apple Seller played by Inconspicuous Role: Bomb Portia Poodle - General Store Operator played by Cornelius Murdock Mason Wendell Walrus - Librarian - The Village - gave his own life on Night 2. played by Stash2Sixx Win condition: use night action Role: One shot suicidal reviver ______________________________________ The Deceased Villagers Bristol Bunny - Seamstress - The Village - convicted on Day 2. played by Bob the Construction Man Brigit Bunny - Florist - The Village - murdered on Night 2. played by Sandy Role: Bodyguard Lazlo Lion - Butcher - The Village - died mysteriously on Day 4. played by TinyPiesRUs Role: Role-blocker Benji Bulldog - Hat Maker - The Village - murdered on Night 4. played by Walter Kovacs Role: Vigilante killer Pennie Pig - Spring Haven Mayor - The Village - murdered on Night 4. played by Eskallon Role: Protector Kenda Cat - Baker - The Village - murdered on Night 5. played by I Scream Clone Role: Tracker Helen Hippo - Cook - The Village - murdered on night 2 and convicted on Day 6. played by def Role: Watcher Booker Bear - Garbage Man - The Village - murdered on Nights 1 & 7. played by Dragonator Role: 1st head monk Becka Bulldog - Beautician - The Village - murdered on Night 7. played by Rick Role: Two shot reviver Mindy Mouse - Accountant - Unknown Affiliation - convicted on Day 8. played by Professor Flitwick Horace Horse - Blacksmith - The Village - murdered on Night 9. played by iamded Gabby Goat - Dairy Operator - The Village - murdered on Night 9. played by Ricecracker ______________________________________ The Demon Legion Lauren Lamb - Gardener - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 3. played by Zepher Role: Roleblocker Sheldon Sheepdog - Toy Maker - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 5. played by Quarryman Role: Night killer (Obliteration Curse) Cara Cow - Doctor - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 7. played by badboytje88 Role: Godfather, Night killer (poisoner) Bruno Bear - Watch Maker - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 9. played by Scouts Role: Night killer (Shapeshifter crow with sickle) Kaley Cat - Mill Operator - Demon Legion - convicted on Day 10 played by Lord Arjay Role: Ninja Jack-of-all-trades Usurper ______________________________________ Third-party Felix Fox - Farmer - Third-party- murdered on Night 3 and convicted on Day 4. played by Shadows Role: The Arsonist, later converted to Demon Legion

vote tally Kaley Cat (Lord Arjay): 3 votes (Rufus, CorneliusMurdock, Inconspicuous) Portia Poodle (CorneliusMurdock): 1 vote (Lord Arjay) It was late in the day and the remaining players just stood in the village square staring each other down. Gilbert Goat had fallen asleep standing up. Suddenly Poncho Parrot (Shadows) ran into the square. "I saw Cara Cow out in the forest practicing witchcraft and she turned me into a snail!" He cried, "I've only just now turned back to myself. I'm here to help!" But, happy and adorable little animals didn't have very sharp long term memory. "We don't remember you." Somebody said. "You're probably another evil bird that Daxia sent to harm us." Somebody else added. "No, I'm Pancho Parrot," Pancho told them, "I'm your mailman. Remember? I'm married to Mindy Mouse. Where is she?" But, the townspeople were convinced that this was a devilish trick of the evil Daxia. They all took up weapons and started chasing poor Pancho Parrot out of the village. They were sad and frustrated, which resulted in a little blood lust. So they were pretty disappointed when Pancho Parrot spontaneously combusted. There are 24 hours left in the day. If you have voted and have no plans on changing your vote please start getting your night actions in so we can begin the next day thread promptly. Thank you.
