  1. It's so great to see you back in action! I even blogged this! Thanks for the in-depth discussion about how you build and how you decide what scale to build in. The overall layout looks amazing! I can't say enough about it, but since this topic is about the Yellow house, I'll stick to that. It's perfectly your style. I love it. It reminds me a sophisticated classic style. Very nostalgia, but expertly built and simple interesting architectural elements added. Way to use binoculars!! It's fascinating to see the evolution of the MOC itself. Thanks for taking us through it's history. It's inspiring and fascinating to learn how other people build. I hope to see more from you soon. Great to have you back.
  2. This is true, but with no night actions, what the hell were we supposed to do? /rant And really, to agree further with you, Tammo's metagaming proved pretty disastrous. The portal between EB and IRC/Writeboard. Couldn't you have asked someone that before you voted for The Foog? : Sandy's right, though. Hope you're taking this in stride and looking forward to playing again. I guess I should be checking on that before hounding you further. Well, the only reason I say you favored the scum in Infection is because you gave our vigilante away and protected the scum identity from us. No clues!... oh, except for that I Scream Clone is the vigilante. But, you are right, this game, Bellville, was very close. Could've gone either way had everyone been given a brain. I'm sad you won't be in my next game. It truly won't be the same without you.
  3. OK, let's put timestamps on all of it. Because Steve doesn't post his stuff online, he's been using this technique for at least three years. His castle, Winter Home of the Happy Sunshine people used it and he only showed that at smaller gatherings and a Renne fest here in Southern Cali... and check out the way he staggers it. It's insane. Although, you know I think you are brilliant as well. MOC Expert...
  4. I can see how that's true, but we've both successfully played scum before. Captain, Tamamnonamao... um ... Tammo, I gave you a title. I will remove it if it hurts your feelings. It's meant in good fun.
  5. Quarry, I love you. Never forget that as you read my acidic words that follow. Thanks for hosting the game and thanks for letting me play. I know this wasn't an easy time in your life and keeping the game running was quite a feat. Thanks for your dedication to the site and the gaming forum. Now on to other things Oh, and Tammo, I love you too, but my words are very acidic towards you. That's a disclaimer. Duh! Every person reading the last day thread was slamming their head against a wall and cursing your name. The Foog ran a sting operation. You said yourself you thought iamded was scum because you saw him in personal messenger. When The Foog ran the same manouevre to find scum, you didn't think he was town????? :wall: And as def pointed out, Rufus left the thread entirely and let you guys have the little spat. Wasn't it odd that he was reading the thread but not responding to anything? You didn't sound like a poor sport at all. Let me sound like one for you. That was so frustrating to watch The Foog pull a brilliant sting operation and have a noob mess it up by being irrationally obtuse. But The Foog told you that iamded and Rufus were using Personal Messenger at the same time!! He used the same tactic as you to find the scum and you didn't believe he was Town. Unbelievable... OK, sorry for being so belligerent towards you Tammo. I was incredibly pissed watching the last day. As far as the "tactic" I mentioned, it was a rather lame one. I decided to play as strong as I could so I would be a target, since I had no night action. I didn't want the scum to target one of our precious night action players. But, the town had no night actions. This is the second Quarryman game I've played and honestly, Quarry, you seem to favor the scum. That's my opinion. I have no clue why you would give us no night actions. What was with Cornelia's gun? I barely want to hear the explanation. I guess I can't see how it would make sense. This post makes me sound pissed off. I am, but I'm not really angry, just expressing my opinion in an intense way. That's how I do things. I can't believe I didn't interfere at all during the remainder of the game. Granted, I yelled at Rufus a few times since I knew he was scum, but I didn't really bug Quarry or yell at any living players or post in the discussion thread. Oh, and Rufus, the thing that clued me in to you being scum was when you put the nail in Draggy's coffin after that brilliant speech he gave about why he shouldn't be voted out. My favorite move of yours was starting the vote against iamded. "Scum never start the vote," people say, so of course eventually a scum was going to use that as a way to not look scummy. Iamded said 100 times, I don't think you're scum but your actions are scummy. I hate this game. Just kidding, it was just as enjoyable as any other. Aggravating, but it's a game and that's what games are for: fun. I'm one of the ones that takes it all too seriously, but I have fun doing that so thanks for putting up with me, everyone. Great game to all the players, especially The Foog! def, awesome job stepping in for that pudgy bitch who would've turned had the game gone one more day. She may have been loyal after all, but given time she would've stabbed every last one of the family in the back. Rufus, good scum game again. You're moving up in the "watch out for this megablocks" ranks. Tammo, better luck next time. Draggy, Cornelius, iamded, Jim Butcher, my lovely loyal family, we deserved better. Thanks for being my afterlife rant buddies. I should copy the conversation between me and Cornelius while Tammo was voting for The Foog. But only if Tammo has an iron ego. It was more than acidic, it was vitriol. I almost forgot, I'm hosting next. Sign-up will be on Wednesday. I have chosen a format that supports 17 players.
  6. So sleek and pretty! I love the use of the cheese wedge pieces here. It's nice to see you take on a modern plane as well as the little classics I've seen from you. You have a knack for aviation MOCs! They're really fantastic. If I was to suggest any improvement on this one, it would be to remove those 1x2 trans-clear bricks from underneath and actually make the thing so it hovers 19.2 mm over any surface. Did you create these decals or get them from another source again? If so, they're very cool. I'm glad he has a license plate. Keep up the great work!
  7. Great work, Pep. This is a really unique plane. I love the little story behind it. You remind me of Siegfried in that you put a lot of thought into the story of a MOC. I also love MOCs that use a limited number of parts to create a challenge for the builder. This is very successful. Great work! More planes please.
  8. Ok, I will. Oh, I almost forgot: :wall:
  9. Would the remaining players like me to lock the day 5 thread?
  10. Good call, Rick. They are not stressed.
  11. Someone posted it on FBTB? I'll have to go take a look. Thanks!
  12. I believe that is Kevin Lauer's butt... You know I never did update this thread since I was busy packing and moving and getting started at the new job. Ah, memories...
  13. I added some more pics, without the glass, to my Flickr photostream. There are better shots of Steve's castle. I would've taken more of mine, but Steve knocked it down...twice...while we were unloading.
  14. Pep, this is a definite improvement! Really great work. I'm glad you took another shot at it. I like the two different sections. The idea of a stone castle enhanced with wood sections is very cool. May I make some suggestions for improvement? OK, I will. I would make a third go at it and try to add appropriate details. Greeble the castle, if you will. When I first started building I used other LEGO creations for inspiration. If you find something you like, I think it's OK to use it as inspiration. Even if you copy a technique, you will need to alter it to fit your creation and your collection. Cite the source, of course, but copying and making alterations to another builder's technique will help you develop your own style. I stopped using other LEGO MOCs as inspiration after a while and started using drawings, artwork or pictures of real buildings as inspiration. That way you're coming up with solutions to the design, without knowledge of how another builder would solve it. That's the best way to develop your own style, in my opinion. If you end up using a technique that someone's used before, it's an inadvertent copy and you still came up with it on your own. So, my advice would be to search sites like Flickr or deviantart for castles that you like and try to build some of the details that would fit this castle. See if you like if you come up with and then share it with us. I'm so happy to see you re-visit the design. There's certainly improvement and I can't wait to see more from you.
  15. What an absolutely epic creation! I honestly think every LEGO fan thought "I'd love to build that!" when this scene came up in The Last Crusade. You've done an amazing job here. I love seeing creative uses for pieces and mini-fig creature head molds make great textures. Awesome use of Jar Jar Binks heads here. I especially appreciate how much detail you put into making an interior as well. The "sets" inside are incredibly close to what the movie sets look like. The one small thing I would suggest for improvement would be using a different color than sand red for the canyon walls. I love that color, but against the other earth tones, it stands out as pink. I like to make suggestions for improvement, but this MOC barely needs it. A very small nitpick, but I'd like to offer something to an almost perfect creation. Really great work.
  16. Awesome and thorough review, Pandora. More than thorough, it's exhaustive. You're creating quite the catalog of set reviews and the bar is being raised for attention to detail. I, however, take away from this review the simple fact that I can make a googly-eyed monster with this set. Thanks for contributing your skills to the site with your awesome reviews!
  17. Ha ha. No. We won't be perpetuating funny stories about stealing LEGO figs. Sorry. Go talk about it somewhere else.
  18. You should say what the title is and tell us why you got it. Titles change, so your post won't always reflect what the title was unless you specify.
  19. Here's a "behind-the-scenes" look at how the round turret was achieved. That's Steve's imagination at work. He's pretty talented.
  20. Purple shirt guy? - Because they made a movie about me about something I may or may not have said while possible wearing a purple shirt or not. Duh.
  21. I have a ton of in progress shots. I'd be more than happy to post them, but would like to post clear shots of the finished model itself first. Hopefully I can get some good shots after removing the plexi and before we have to tear down. That roof technique is Steve's. He's kept it under wraps for a very long time and is finally getting a chance to display it. It is fantastic, isn't it?
