No they just did not name the Ent Treebeard to make it ''army buildish'' If they make A treebeard set then that is the biggest waste of a set... another SAME Ent for like slightly different head to waste a set.... Balrog is 10 times better set if so....

For movie accuracy.... Look at helm's Deep and Weathertop... hardly MOVIE ACCURATE in size and doing justice? barely :) Castle Dragon would do as much justice to Smaug as a 130$ minas Tirith would do justice to the movie one :P Well to be honest.... many LEGO products/sets their counterparts on screen do little justice..... They could indeed..... But it seems they are just closing down Hobbit... so I wonder if LEGO would bother that much.... I can see different wings on a mold thats for sure...

Still my question holds.... why would they make a new mold for something as obscure as 4 Hobbit Sets.... I mean such mold would be hardly reusable... sure you can argue about Wampa Cave beast mold but that was SW and we all know what SW is/was back then :D

This one... its 2013 set Dragon isnt it? The question is... why would LEGO release a NEW dragon with Hobbit films if they have no intention of reusing it....

What Gondor helmet... those are unique.... these are just as needed as torso and SHIELD! This is what we need: ideally give us also these plumes to add on the helmet: And im a happy boy :)

Yeah but thats minor.... As long as I would have helm Ill sign even that... I mean Elves had colorful war equipment just remember sons of Elrond from book and description of Tolkien about his equipment which was colorful and beautiful. helm is a much more important part for me.... I am tired of the same hair! Yes it does not.... But that is little to say its prelim.... I would be really surprised if LEGO makes a new mold for that.... not sure why but thats just my feeling.... I mean they launched the brand NEW Dragon Mold in 2013 and used it in 1 set..... Why would they make another Dragon just a good year after.... makes little sense to me...

If the soldier has no helmet (elven helmet that is) then it makes little difference.... you just swap face off of Elrond and there you are generic Elves.... Why I personally want Elven warriors is for the helmet they have....ok and shield but Ill be happy with helmet already.... I hope Galadriel is in her traditional white gown.... Also why are you all so sure we get a new Dragon mold.... did LEGO said that or was it written ''preliminary Smaug'' or what.... because It might just be the castle Dragon with other printing....

All i hope for the whole wave is 1. Armored dwarves 2- Armored elves Everything else... I can easily skip!

Maybe they will just reuse and change nothing in design but only color.... Its 1 of a kind .... not sure they will overstretch for an average theme.... It seems the most logical.

Nah PJ butchered Azog/Bolg so much I would rather they removed them alltogether..... Bolg is a useless filler in the movies to be honest thanks to PJ..... Bolg is needed just as much as that annoying lake Town guy is.... and thats 0 id rather have 2 lake Town Guards instead of both of them lol or random civilians

Well Its possible.... Its hard to say really... its entirely possible that 3 structures can take even 1200 pieces IF LEGO wants them to.... I mean I can easily see a 500-600 pieces Town hall, 400 pieces Watchtower + a structure thats 250 pieces..... would easily come to around 1100-1200 pieces + accessories and figs or can there be Bards house.... its hard to believe that LEGO would make 3 structures that are smaller to fit them in a 69.99 set ... I would expect them to make only Town hall in 600 pieces for the 2nd largest set...

Well if the main building is the Town Hall seen in the movie with that crossbow thing.... then I expect that building alone to have 500 pieces minimum..... if not it can be the second biggest set i agree.

Possibly.... however I expect 1 of the 3 buildings to be atleast a tad bigger with the device to fire that black arrow..... so I am expecting to have atleast 300 pieces more.... so we are talking atleast 800 pieces + dragon Sounds like the biggest set!

Well i would atleast expect TLG to tell retailers which sets themes, lines are to be expected ..... I mean if LEGO has to know everything 1 year in advance I only see logical marketing following to want to know how much will their major retailers buy.... Its called good business... i did the same being in a much smaller company for 3 months.

Yeah pictures yes, but I thought retailers could ''pre-order'' quantities for everything being released in calender year.... To get pictures in catalogs for customers for next year is only logical because they are available for the majority or all 1st half of the next year if they are released at December.... Would be illogical to put them in July-Dec catalog ....

Ok now you got me confused... I thought for year 2014 catalog covers everything up to January 2015..... So anything that might be released in December is covered inside that catalog.... or is it only up till October?

Well dont the shops etc. get their catalogs for the whole year 2014 ???? If so then there is 0 chance for LOTR in 2014.....

I'd go bankrupt !!! I really dont have many pieces... Around 2.000 and majority of those are foilage, reddish brown pieces to make trees and barrels, containers of all sort, weapons, and fig accessories.... unless I open all of my MISB sets sitting in my closet which is mainly LOTR .... which I dont want to :P Ill just keep buying Uruks for my army lol
