Kaita Serrian | Jedi Youngling Health: 5 Force Abilities None Mastery Abilities None Bio Daughter of a wealthy aristocratic family from corusant, Kaita was discovered by a group of Jedi masters attending a diplomatic party. Her initiation into the order was opposed by her parents, but Kaita disobeyed them and joined the order anyway, causing her parents to disown her. Personality wise, she retains an aristocratic air and a rather militaristic, almost obsessive, attitude to her training. Duel History Won: 0 Lost: 3 (1 at sudden death)

A midi scale star destroyer, if it's truly in the same scale as the midi falcon, is going to be MASSIVE! I haven't looked up the stats but I would estimate it would be about a 1.5metres in length, possibly longer! Don't hold your breath... Kaitan

I find it really bizarre that TLC decided to put a snowspeeder in the Wampa Attack set instead of a Tauntaun. At least the Wampa interacted with a Tauntaun in the film. We don't see a snowspeeder until Luke and Han are rescued the next morning, with not a Wampa in sight! Ah well, who am I to question their logic? Kaitan I was looking forward to another tauntaun ....

Speaking as someone who works in a bookshop here in the UK, It's not at all unusual for a book to be available for preorder a year ahead of it's publication date. I seem to remember ordering the pirate and castle brickmaster books for the shop at least 8- 10 months before they were due. Those of you that are rushing to preorder, might want to hold back though. When the first two books came out in the UK, the shops here ALL had them at 25 - 50% off. Not sure what Amazon offered, but I wouldn't want people to waste money :) Kaitan

It looks great, and is a marvellous bit of engineering, but I get the feeling that the video has been slowed down for a more dramatic effect... Its a common practice in movie making - want something to look bigger and more impressive? Slow it down :) Just my thoughts Kaitan

Funny you should say that, because in the DK Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary the picture of the new hoth helmet is titled as the "prototype of the 2009 Hoth Rebel Soldier's Helmet". I'm assuming it's a typo, or maybe the Echo Base (7749) set was supposed to have the new helmet but, for some reason or another TLC decided to leave it until the 2010 battlepack.

That pic is taken from the DK Star Wars Lego Visual Dictionary, so it's not confidential :) I like the new headgear - much better than the helmets and closer to the actual hoth guys headgear!

Yep, I do mean Kepis. And thats why I don't take part in the discussion very often - Time to get back in my box.

I follow this thread with great interest, and I know I rarely take part in the discussion, but I think with all these pics appearing, its worthwhile remembering that they are PRELIMINARY pictures, and may in some cases use exisiting pieces in place of new ones. Remember the first pics of the endor battle? The rebel troopers had kelpies and smiley faces! So please don't place too much faith in the prelims, they are just to give the dealers an idea of what the sets contain, not specifics... Just my thoughts. Kaitan

I picked up 5 of these today - that was as many as my conscience would let me have 65p for a stormie! What a bargain! Plus a handy bag of extra pieces - some of them semi unusual. Kaitan

The list of things to add is in the first post. I'll just carry on doing my own thing using the screencaps from the film, I prefer to work out builds myself rather than attempt to copy the game. Kaitan

Amazing MOC! I've tried doing a large minifig, found it too hard and gave up in disgust :) Maybe I should've planned it on the computer first like you. Really excellent work, and welcome to eurobricks ! Kaitan

Thanks, glad you like it! Nope, no plans for a Slave I platform, mainly because I don't own a Slave I set and don't really have any motivation to Moc one. The Carbon freezing chamber has been done so many times before, loads of them much better than I feel I could do. I'm trying to do parts of the set that haven't been done a gazillion times already. They are water slide decals, not Peel n stick decals (Peal n stick, that rings a bell! ) As far as I'm aware, Kam only sells water slide decals, although I suppose you could print the decals onto sticky labels if you wanted to. Love it! It actually looks 'Imperial' and threatening. Great work! Kaitan

Truth is, I ONLY have NEW white pieces :) I only started back into Lego at the start of the year and, bar one or two sets that I saved, most of my childhood/old lego went to charity. :( It powers the light in the sculpture in the centre of the crossroads type bit. Well, my starting motivation was - " I've built hoth, and the Tantive IV, what other white star wars setting can I do?" Of course, I've brought a few more white bricks to get this far :) Who knows whats next? Thanks again to everyone, and thanks to KimT for putting me on the front page - I feel very humble :)) Kaitan

Well, the reason I used two different theepios was there is about a month and a half between the first picture and the rest, and in that time I found a reasonably priced chrome theepio on ebay. Yep that's right, it's a custom. It's the original Lobot body with a new head and hands. I got the decals from Kam's site, www.fineclonier.com - fantastic decals! Thanks to everyone for the support and kind words. The work continues! Kaitan

Update with new pictures added to first post!

okay I know Vader isn't as tall as Chewbacca (David Prowse is 6ft7, Peter Mayhew is 7ft3) but Vader is still about a head taller than most of the other human characters in the films. I just wanted him to look a bit more imposing I guess. Ah well, back to sticking 1x1 plates on his feet. Back on topic. I like the look of the Tantive IV, I think its been well done, but I probably won't get it, I'm not really a ship collector, and the figs are nothing special.
-
Just a side thought, but seeing the long legged characters from the new "Toy Story" sets, did it make anyone else think " ohhh a proper sized Chewbacca and Darth Vader at last!" ?
-
Yep, loving this It does the job perfectly, looking "built for purpose" without actually giving that purpose away! Well done Kaitan

Several other people in other forums have said it looks like the game. I do own the game, but it didn't even occur to me to use it as a reference source! :)
-
Looks fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing the next parts! Kaitan

Nope, this is going to take up a bit of my time for a while :) I did do the Tantive IV though, its here Thanks, not really sure how long its taken, I've been planning it for a few months, collecting info, references and bricks. Actual build time for the part you see in the picture was probably about 4-5 hours I haven't but I have seen several around...

Thanks :) Yep I'm planning to do most of the rest of the cloud city set (i.e. a big corridor with a few rooms! ), minus the carbon freezing chamber and the other bit where Luke and Vader fought (other people have done it better than I have the skill or patience to do :) ) I'm using screen captures from the movie - the original cut. The special edition is very confusing because the changes thay made aren't consistant - e.g. they put alot of windows in one scene, then when the characters run past later on, the windows have changed, or have gone completely! :) Besides, I'm not going for a completely faithful rendition, just a 'feel' of cloud city-ness :))

First off, apologies for being a bit of a lurker the last few months, life got a bit hectic for me. I was here checking out everyones mocs and news, I just didn't have time to comment - sorry! Anyway, life has slowed down somewhat :) and given me time to work on this - Cloud City. I must stress this is a work in progress and this is only about a fifth of the final model - I've yet to make the rest of the corridor, the "light well", leia's apartment, the bit where theepio gets shot, and the dining room. Even this part isn't really finished - the far back wall is just a baseplate propped up to stop you seeing my desk :) there will be a proper wall there soon:)) Let me know what you think (as if you need me to ask :) ) Kaitan UPDATE 20th August Added "stairway and window" section - (the first part of the corridor) A long shot Lobot in contemplative mood. "That sounds like an R2 unit....." "No Luke, it's a trap!!!" A busy day in Cloud City - Populance courtasy of my 'spares' box. CW clone heads make good ugnaughts An overview with the ceiling and all the removable walls off.
